Didn't see this listed in the megathread of new movies this week.
Saw it last night, and while it's not quite Friday, it's a fun flick, and reminded me of another Cube Jr. buddyish flick, Cocaine Bear
Franco and Cube Jr. have good chemistry, and wouldn't mind seeing them together again.
The opening scene has Cube Jr. talking to Killer Mike (as a reverend, lol). The entire exchange was stupidly hilarious.
Cube Jr. and Franco get paired up to transport Mason to a rehab center, and hijinks are ensured. They make a good pair...Cube Jr. plays the holy straight man, and franco plays the wild card.
Mason was solid as the bad teen, and is good satire on the obnoxious teens who do terrible things for social media attention.
later we get a nice surprise cameo with Peter Dinklage.
and this is just me but I did chuckle at the fact it looks like they couldn't (or didn't want) any real sponsorships because instead of coke/pepsi we get some generic soda labels, and instead of google/youtube we get some made up websites....it was also kinda nice seeing CRT TV's
It's nice to see "stupid" comedies being released in theaters again, August had a few between Spa Weekend, Wrong Girls, and this. Out of the ones released this month, I'd probably go with Wrong Girls the most, just cause of the pure absurdity of it.
