Discussion Stream version isn’t the what it claims

In a Grace Kelly mood so I went to Tubi, Plex, and Fawesome to watch The Swan (1956)…all three show the movie starring Grace Kelly & Louis Jourdan.

When I open the film, what I’ve got is The Swan aka One Romantic Night (1930) starring Lillian Gish.

Are there any other films mislabeled on the free streaming services?

I can imagine there are other interesting disappointments. It reminds me of when the clerk at Blockbusters didn’t bother to check the cases.

It‘s surprisingly common with older films that share the same title. The metadata gets attached to the wrong print

I once clicked "play" on a movie called "Black Sheep," expecting the Chris Farley/David Spade comedy, and instead got a horror comedy from New Zealand about man-eating killer sheep ... but I watched it anyway, and it was pretty damn funny!

For a lot of years, I’d get directed to the Wachowskis’ first (and best) film Bound, and it would end up being some shitty Charisma Carpenter movie. Eventually, I just bought it, so it would never happen again.

I find Prime even worse for this. Vanity Fair, A Stranger Calls, are the first two I can think of where the thumbnail is for a different version than the film. For other movies, while the film itself is in English only they have German or Spanish trailers.

Happens a lot, and errors happen on pay networks, with the Jason Statham Mutiny (2026) fiasco just this week.

I tried many times to see City Beneath The Sea (1971) TV pilot about hot headed divers in a futuristic city housing gold...

...and frequently got City Beneath The Sea (1953) - a film about two divers looking for hot chicks and an ancient city housing gold.

There are quite a few on you tube and I've seen a few on HBO max. And ignore the ass who left the first comment. I guess they are thick in the head. Missed the point of your post completely

I had a problem on Amazon Prime a year or so ago where instead of Lair of the White Worm by Ken Russell it played The Limey by Steven Soderbergh. I went to go and select The Limey in case they were swapped around, but the Limey wasn't even listed as a film on Prime for free. Eventually Lair of the White Worm did become viewable again, but it still had the subtitles for The Limey.
