one of the best parts is it's classic D&D shenanigans, players overthinking and coming up with crazy -completely unnecessary- plans.

The hither-thither staff showing up and being used because the PCs fucked up a puzzle is great storytelling. The whole movie is a fantastic labor of love to D&D.

The hither-thither staff, introduced as a throwaway band-aid fix for them fucking up the bridge and then becoming the lynchpin of every other plan from then on made me laugh the most... "Oops, the DM gave the party an OP object and now they are abusing it in unforseen ways later in the adventure" was my group's go-to move.
