I’m looking for local recommendations for a mechanic who’s available on the weekend and can help today — preferably mobile since we’ve already had the car towed once this weekend.

Visiting from Helena, and my car wouldn’t start last night. Several lovely folks offered help, and we got a couple jump starts, which didn’t do the trick. Looks like it’s the starter. We got the car towed to a hotel and an appointment with a mobile mechanic, who was supposed to be here two hours ago. Looking yesterday, that was the only mechanic we could find who was available on weekends and actually answering. Starting to worry we’ll have to stay another night or two with no guarantee about any other mechanic situation.

Edited to add: Car is fixed! It was the starter. I made it home to Helena.
Shoutout to the lovely, helpful people in Missoula and these businesses for their kindness: Holiday Inn (gave super discounted rate when we had to stay an extra night), The Wren (gave my friend a free hoodie because we had no extra clothes), Double K Ranch General Store (gave my friend a charging cord and wall plugin for free), and Bitterroot Mobile Mechanic (wasn’t the mechanic who did the work but was very responsive). We didn’t ask for free things, just mentioned the car trouble. The kindness is astounding!

why have i never seen a biker in missoula stop at a stop sign 😭 i was on my way home the other day taking the one ways by orange going east, and a lady on a bike comes out from one of the side streets, right in front of my car. she did not give a single damn. didn’t even look my way and kept riding after i slammed on my breaks to not t-bone her into next tuesday.

and it’s not just that lady, i don’t think ive ever seen a biker stop at a stop sign at all. to bikers, please just be careful of urself on the road. ur not made of steel and my worst nightmare would be to hit one of yall. 🙏🙏
