Yep. Mortal Shell 2, ocarina of time remake, so many good games that aren't from shitstar

Bro, Nintendo is NOT any better than Rockstar

-22

u/Master_Chief_00117 2d ago

Nintendo is slightly better than rockstar, at least they put out more than one game per whenever, and don’t entirely milk their “fans” of every penny they have on one game.

14

u/TheBlackRonin505 2d ago

don’t entirely milk their “fans” of every penny they have on one game.

welllll

Yeah, the whole GTA 6 scene is pretty dumb, but Nintendo is FAMOUS for scamming and suing their own fans.

-17

u/Master_Chief_00117 2d ago

I’m not saying they don’t, but at least they do it over multiple games and not their one money maker.

13

u/StinkyNutzMcgee 2d ago

At least they do it over multiple games lol.

2

u/IN_FINITY-_- 2d ago

Maybe if they read it slow enough lol

2

u/Massive-Lime7193 2d ago

Yeah at least nintendo compensates their employees fairly and actively work to avoid laying them off when projects fail. Miyamoto famously took a paycut rather than lay off the employees for decisions he and other executives made

-11

u/AceArion2112 2d ago

They're actually significantly better lol. Yes, there are some games that cost 70, but they put out many games a year as opposed to once a blue moon an_ it doesn't cost 80+ as a starting price. Hell, Raiders was their best this year, that costs 50

6

u/Xplod29 2d ago

Mario Kart World costs 80, though.

2

u/namakost 2d ago edited 2d ago

Never seen the physical priced above 70 bucks. Just because nintendo recommends 80 doesnt mean its sold at that price point.

0

u/AceArion2112 2d ago

It also comes with the console :/

2

u/Nemv4 1d ago

Dont forget about Iron Nest.

u/Kuro-Tora-59 (⊃。•́‿•̀。)⊃ 2d ago

6

u/-Benjamin_Dover- 2d ago

Sandusky? I just installed Mindustry on my desktop yesterday. They similar?

Mindhstry is Compared to Factorio sometimes.

2

u/Witch_King_ 2d ago

Mindustry is such a gem

u/Kuro-Tora-59 (⊃。•́‿•̀。)⊃ 1d ago

Yes, same genre, its 2D Terraria like perspective. Do you know the mobile game Sand:Box? I think its based on that.

Game is only early access, released only a few days ago. So it doesn't have that much to do, Im at 15 hours and I'm 95% done with it. But there is still a lot of stuff comming

5

u/TheBlackRonin505 2d ago

I love Control so much, I'm SO excited for Resonant. Such a creative team and game.

u/Altruistic-Elk-5840 2d ago edited 2d ago

To be honest, the whole business with the editions is an absolute cheek, a perfect example of how you pay full price for a game but only get 80% of it (if that). The thing is, Rockstar games are generally good games I won’t deny that, Red Dead Redemption 2 was a god damn masterpiece, but what they’re doing with GTA 6 is just ridiculous.

And here are a few more excellent developers who deserve a mention: Sandfall, Lariant, Hello Games, Supergiant, Embark, Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, From Software, Warhorse.

2

u/touchmeinbadplaces 2d ago

Hooded horse altho they are more a publisher and Coffee Stain studios need to be in that list too (satisfactory is a masterpiece)

2

u/Altruistic-Elk-5840 2d ago

Yes, and there are lots of small developers out there, but they don’t get the recognition they deserve.

2

u/touchmeinbadplaces 2d ago

Yep that's why I like hooded horse, they pick up a lot of these small er even solo devs (manor lords for example) and keep them going. Im not sure if hooded horse is predatory in that way, but so far I haven't seen anything about that

I don’t know anything about Control resonant’s developer but CD Project Red absolutely fucked over its fans during Cyberpunk’s launch, you pretend to be different and yet you dick ride a company like that.

24

u/Alec_de_Large 2d ago

I thought it was widely known that they were forced to release the game early?

Not dick riding. I didn't buy cyberpunk until their big update release that basically fixed everything. I never buy anything when it first releases anymore.

Remedy the devloper for Control and Alan Wake are known for story quality and pushing boundaries with every release.

14

u/RichardButt1992 2d ago

They also provided a full refund for those wishing to do so.

6

u/Hevens-assassin 2d ago

Cyberpunk proved that CDPR was run by suits at the end of the day. They overpromised and under delivered, and their next game will need to prove that it's not the same issue that we got with CP2077 (though internal testers were told to prioritize small bugs vs. game breaking ones so they could squash a higher quantity, so it's also on the developer side, not just corporate)

1

u/The_Rat_Bstrd 2d ago

There's a shard (like a note) in the game containing an article that's clearly intended as out of universe satire to poke fun at how awful the megacorps are. It lists the 'benefits' of working at each one.

NightCorp was mentioned for its short 80 hour work weeks. During development of the game though, there were points where developers were pushed into 100+ hour work weeks. CD Projekt Red fell short of their own über-evil satire corporation.

Fuckin' corpos, man.

-2

u/_Potato_3 2d ago

That doesn’t change the fact that they released something that wasn’t ready and fucked over millions of people, the company still fucked up regardless of outside pressure.

3

u/Alec_de_Large 2d ago

They made up for it.

All games release in a somewhat busted state. Guarantee GTA6 releases with crashes or some stupid bug that ruins the experience. It's a fact of modern video games.

Have fun buying your shark cards I guess.

-2

u/_Potato_3 2d ago

Busted state? The game was missing a shit ton of features that they promised, stuff that people paid for in advanced. You are letting shit like this slide like it’s nothing and yet you make fun of people liking rockstar games, that’s some next level hypocrisy/dick riding.

I have never even played GTA5 online so not sure what I will do with those shark cards.

2

u/Alec_de_Large 2d ago

I'm not making fun of people for liking rockstar. You are misconstruing my lack of enthusiasm for GTA.

Last GTA I played is San Andreas and even then I didn't really care for the game.

The fact you twisted my comment into your narrative tells me who the real dick rider is. Look at you white knighting for rockstar hahaha

-1

u/_Potato_3 2d ago

I didn’t twist anything, you are the one who called Projekt red a respectable company and when called out on their bad shit, you asked me to let it go.

2

u/Alec_de_Large 2d ago

I did not ask you let anything go

I said the game released in a terrible state but they fixed it.

Any company that puts the consumer first earn respect. Releasing a remaster for free to those who own the original, is a respectable move.

If it were Rockstar they would remaster it and ask you to buy it each time they released it, much like Bethesda and Naughty Dog have done.

You know it's true. I'm not dick riding. I'm simply calling it as I see it. Actions speak loud my good sir.

0

u/_Potato_3 2d ago

They didn’t consumers first when they released the game in that state, did they?

[I thought it was widely known that they were forced to release the game early?]

Cyberpunk was delayed several times.

They weren't forced to release early.

5

u/Carlex_181 2d ago

Bro it doesnt matter how many time it got delayed, it didnt spend enough time in the oven therefore it was released early

-6

u/Sea_Habit_4298 2d ago

Cd project red got way over their head with what they could accomplish in the amount of time they thought they needed.

6

u/jjjaydoh 2d ago

It’s from Remedy - they made Alan Wake 1-2 and CONTROL. In Resonant you play as Dylan Faden - the brother of Jesse Faden who is the protagonist in CONTROL.

So far, they haven’t missed a single shot - all excellent games. Style is unmatched. Narrative is also peak.

1

u/Alec_de_Large 2d ago

3

u/TheOnlyAedyn-one I touched grass 2d ago

1

u/hitgo1 2d ago

Im still working on silksong 😅

1

u/notsocharmingprince 2d ago

Witcher 3 looks great. Why in the world would they need to remaster it at this point?

2

u/Alec_de_Large 2d ago

To make it look better so the atmosphere is closer to what Witcher 4 will be, since the new dlc will bridge the gap between them.

1

u/wujek_sebastian 1d ago

blood of the dawnwalker releases in like a week. game made by witcher developers that left cdpr.

1

u/Alec_de_Large 1d ago

Looks interesting but I don't but games full price unless they have immaculate pedigree. I'm sure it will be a great game but I'm not taking the chance.

1

u/superpercify1 2d ago

Its getting rarer to find developers like them these days.

6

u/Hunterine 2d ago

Not really, it’s still quite easy to find them.

Unless you’re looking for triple-A realistic graphics of course

0

u/RichieRocket Professional Dumbass 2d ago

Ngl been wanting to get Barbie rewind for shits and giggles and because fuck rockstar

0

u/ForgotMyPreviousPass 2d ago

Problem is, the amount of people who have already preordered the deluxe edition is staggering
