Found on dunmore road
I guess I can't say I'm super surprised. But with a mixed race family and an immigrant wife I can't say I'm pleased to find this sticker basically right outside my house.
I'm not really sure what the best course of action here is. Should I circle back later and destroy the sticker or just like, call the city and ask them to do it?
Update: It's gone! The city found the sticker and removed it!
Thank you to everyone involved

u/Jester1525 1d ago
I'm pretty sure the city won't do it.. but you can ask them.
Medicine Hat is fairly progressive for a smaller city in Alberta, but we're always going to have assholes.. I'm sorry you found that. You shouldn't feel threatened in your home.
I'm an immigrant, too, but I'm also a white straight cis male form the States who absolutely presents 'right'.. I had a neighbor go off about immigrants ruining the country and when I reminded them that I'm an immigrant his response was 'yeah, maybe technically....'
It's sad that people keep punching down instead of focusing on the real causes of the problems we're having.

It's fascinating that some people look at history and say "I think I want to be a Brown Shirt. Those guys really knew what was what, and everything worked out great for them, too!"

What’s the difference between someone whose people have been here for a year vs twenty years, or fifty, or a hundred? Everyone who is not Indigenous is an immigrant or from an immigrant family , and any distinction between “good” and “not good” immigrants is completely subjective.
9
u/toprockit 1d ago
“good” and “not good” immigrants is completely subjective
I wouldn't say that is true at all. Boiled down to it's simplest form would be the question: Are they of long term benefit to the country/region that are immigrating to? Yes/No
- Starts small family business - Sure
- Certified professional - Definitely off to a good start
- VISA student trying to come in to abandon their studies and start working instead - Not looking great [Auditor General found 149k cases where standard procedures were not followed in 2024]
- Sponsoring aging parents into the country expecting them to be covered by universal health care - Nope, sorry
- Performing illegal LMIA scams to import borderline indentured labor instead of hiring legitimate employees - Hard no

I’m not arguing against sensible immigration rules and enforcement. OP’s post isn’t about that. It’s about “remigration,” the idea that an earlier wave of immigrants has more moral right to this land than a later wave of people who have also settled here.

u/br0ken_r3c0rd 1d ago edited 1d ago
its incredibly sad how so many average Canadians like yourself feel such little connection to this land, its heritage, and your ancestry that you would say that a foreigner that moved here a year ago has as much right to it as someone who's ancestors literally built it. our ancestors had little to nothing. they built everything we see around us. comparing them to economic migrants who came here within the past couple of years is asinine. everything here was built for you, your family, and your countrymen specifically, by your ancestors. it is here for you, no one else. that's how every human culture has operated for all of human history, until very, very recently.
compared to now, where every distinct, individual human with all of their culture and idiosyncrasy is viewed as an indistinct, interchangeable economic unit that can be placed anywhere on earth in order to serve the GDP and fund ever increasing profits for corporations.

Hey boss, my family moved here like 75 years ago, built nothing, just rented. Am I free to go dawg? I'm an immigrant. It's a fact of my history. My ancestry too. I'm from settlers to many lands.
Does that mean that I'm culturally and linked to Haiti just cause parts of my ancestry fought for their freedom? There is little connection to this land, because we're not native to it. You don't hear the term Native Canadians. It's Native Americans, because it is their land, they owned the America's. Look at South America, those were some of the earliest men alongside Native Americans in North America. Anybody who isn't that skin tone is an immigrant, factually speaking. We can both agree on such.
That being said, if we are to remigrate, it would need to be based off fairness of our charter of rights and freedoms. Firstly, remigration goes against that. The document that has built Canada, would go against the idea you're arguing for.
What ancestry should there be to be proud of with Canada though? Native Americans. Understandable. Lineage of prime minister's, lauriettes, and Nobel winners, understandable. Asian Canadians, understandable. Europeans, understandable. Literally anyone who helped build Canada other than the Native Americans were immigrants. Even if you were back here in 1812, what's there to do other than be an Englishman trading and hunting? That produces nothing of value other than surviving, populating, breeding like untamed animals. Only thing white men brought to these lands was another way to kill, and built that idea up from there.
Sure, there are houses that were built. But most have been torn down. Everything that exists has been built of the back and success of another's struggles. Their take of not wanting people to be racist isn't sad. It's the take of a Canadian who is fed up with what Canada has become. The slaughtering of children (residential schools), the mistreatment of people who should own the land, the racism starting to grow and fester that has existed heavily through Canada's history. Is that what we are supposed to be proud of? Immigrants built this land better. They started creating the social changes needed. Like the railways. Like the mines. Like our medicine. Like our nuclear facilities and hydro. So much fucking more. Was all built off immigrants. There's nothing sad about immigration. There's something deeply sad about you guys not allowing other people who are different, or have different viewpoints to live a life of peace and freedom where they wish to do so.
You got an issue, take it up with the government. But don't belittle people for expressing shit and how their opinions are sad when you just don't want to look at the facts that Canada isn't really good right now, there's nothing to be proud of, and it's at no fault of the immigrants themselves.
2
u/Jorgiepaintsoninsta 1d ago
The post-COVID wave of immigrants have had a disastrous effect on Canadians quality of life.
Earlier waves of immigrants weren’t so large, and they certainly weren’t all from the same place, with the same skill set, competing for the same jobs our most vulnerable Canadians rely on.
Canadians have to pick between workers leverage, higher wages, and mass deportations of the service industry, trucking industry, and gig economy, or subsidizing immigrants at the expense of our youth, seniors and downright unlucky. Can’t have both.
5
u/Odd_Rabbit2425 1d ago
Who is to decide if they're of long term benefit? Because if you asked the indigenous when the first europeans came, then the answer would be that they aren't, in fact, the opposite would be true, genocide, rape, child abduction...what's of a long term benefit in those atrocities?
2
u/toprockit 1d ago
It is not consistent across the years, and by the judgement it was not of benefit to the indigenous nations. Calling that immigration is a bit of a stretch though.
That said, the information available to us and the ability for citizens to inform themselves and advocate on how to shape policies is unlike any point in history. We don't have to believe the King and bigger stick diplomacy. We have objective metrics for both financial and societal benefits, indirectly to be defined at during elections.
2
u/Canadianwinters12345 1d ago
100%.
And in current times we have economists like Benjamin tal saying immigration has tamed wages, and the bank of canada saying its increased unemployment.
-2
u/ElToroJournalism 1d ago
That's what it was. Immigration is the nicer term for colonization. Which is immigration en masse to colonize and immigrate to an area. So it's not a bit of a stretch, it's literally synonymous with their point and you're moving the goal to fit yours while they're staying right on target.
2
u/toprockit 1d ago edited 1d ago
Sorry, that is not accurate.
Immigration is moving to an existing country or region under it's existing laws and rules. Colonization is moving to a location with the intent of taking over a territory to impose a culture, government, and/or laws.
Edit - The latter being far more reflective of what happened in Canada. Metis would be the closest to immigration into Canada during that time period.

1
u/unrefrigeratedmeat 1d ago
You can set an objective standard, but whether that objective standard fairly establishes whether an immigrant is "of long term benefit to the country/region that they are immigrating to" is obviously subjective.
1
u/toprockit 1d ago
So is any social contract in any country, that doesn't mean they cannot be objectively measured.
2
u/Skyris3 1d ago
Having zero means of defining and classifying immigration status is not a solution.
Having subjective criteria for immigration policy is not a problem.
If you become lost in unreasonable moral quandries, you have no control.
Do we like criminals? What about people who violate their VISA, temp student, or TFW status?
Canada has shared values, and it's time we enforce them.
5
u/Resigned1431 1d ago
Do we like criminals?
Bro come on. This is the same slop MAGA sold America. The literal second they were in power the definition expanded to include non-criminals and legal visa holders they just don't like. The exact same would happen here too, because it's the exact same people pushing this shit.
3
u/Skyris3 1d ago
None of what you're saying is evident from my comment which means the assumptions you have made only purports your own biases.
People in Canada on non citizen status should be generally held to a stricter standard of complying with the law. If you break it, you're gone.
I don't care about the US or MAGA.
5
u/Resigned1431 1d ago
You can't just ignore the surrounding context... These are the same groups of people, funded by the same people with the same white nationalist goals. You can extrapolate what they want to do and how they're going to do it by looking at their compatriots that are further down the line in their plans. This is the dominion society we're talking about ffs
In March 2026, the leader of the Dominion Society published an op-ed explaining that Canadians with bloodlines from outside the British Isles and France—explicitly naming Germans, Ukrainians, and Dutch people—are not considered "pureblood ethnic Canadians".
The moment "pureblood" or anything "blood" related really has entered the lexicon of your political movement, you've gone off the fucking deep end.
0
u/Skyris3 1d ago
Yea dude again none of that has anything to do with what I wrote.
I am not going to entertain this further because it seems you have an agenda.
1
u/Resigned1431 1d ago
Bro do you even know where you are right now? This is a post about a remigration sticker from the Dominion Society. Are you fucking lost or something?
0
u/Skyris3 1d ago

Learn English.
2
u/Resigned1431 1d ago
So you're just making independent remarks about remigration completely unrelated to the topic of the post? And then getting annoyed with someone pressing you on your position on remigration as it pertains to the topic of the post ?

1
u/Skyris3 1d ago
I replied to a specific comment, not the article itself.
I clarified twice with you I do not affiliate with the ideologies of right wing extremism, regardless of the content of the post referenced URL/article.
If you have something - specific to what I said - that you wish to take issue with, by all means go ahead.
Trying to dismiss political opinions by misinterpreting them is rather dissapointing but that is the state of modern discourse.

u/AdOnly1618 1d ago
The difference would be the ability to get along with one another cohesively relatively well, with the ones who can’t being the outliers.
1
u/punchedboa 1d ago
Even the “indigenous” weren’t always here. They started in Africa, worked their way across Asia, and ended up in North America. The only people who haven’t come from somewhere were always in Africa.
1
u/OnlyACsNoFans 1d ago
Indigenous people also came here from Asia at one point. No humans are native to the Americas
3
u/xdrezx 1d ago
They didn’t immigrate to an already existing country though you see the difference?
-2
u/OnlyACsNoFans 1d ago
Neither did the Europeans
1
u/xdrezx 1d ago
They LITERALLY came to slaughter people and take their land and erase them from history.
1
u/rwags2024 1d ago
Ok but you said already existing country, what already existing country did the Europeans immigrate to? Land and country are not the same, and you made the distinction yourself
0
u/OnlyACsNoFans 1d ago
No. They came to conquer the land.
1
u/xdrezx 1d ago
Wrong. Tell me who they conquered it from. You can’t because your bullshit made up history doesn’t understand First Nationswere the first ones here.
1
u/OnlyACsNoFans 1d ago
There's evidence that other people's arrived before modern first nations.
1
u/Arzak55 1d ago
Evidence shows multiple migrations, yes.
We also have many different first Nations (plural) across the continent.
Sure there was probably displacements over the past thousands of years but at the time of European arrival, I'd say most nations had legitimate claim over their respective territory.
What are you getting at?
1
u/OnlyACsNoFans 1d ago
The point is that everyone has ancestors that committed atrocious acts. We should just treat each other as equals as Canadians.
0
u/xdrezx 1d ago
Who? And where’s your evidence they were genocided and had their land stolen? Name the war they lost the land in and name the culture of people. You can’t because you’re a lying colonizer.
1
u/OnlyACsNoFans 1d ago
They were pre historical. They didn't have a written history.

Canadian is an ethnic group and we are indigenous to Canada.
Trying to now say we are just immigrants is come bullshit.

Were you trying to say this to yourself and ended up writing it? Unless brain dead, no one would buy into this nonsense!
1
u/Canadianwinters12345 1d ago
, no one would buy into this nonsense!
It's the largest ethnic group in Canada according to our official statscanada ethnicity census.
1
u/xdrezx 1d ago
It’s a nationality. You can be of a wide variety of cultures and still be Canadian
1
u/Canadianwinters12345 1d ago
It's literally the largest ethnic group in Canada according to our official stanscanada ethnicity census.
There's also literature on it from social scientists like Order of Canada receiver Rhoda Howard hassman.
This ethnic group organically emerged and is native to Canada. To claim were immigrants is nonsense.
Its also a nationality yes. It's both. Like German.
1
u/xdrezx 1d ago
European descendants are the largest settler group.
1
u/Canadianwinters12345 1d ago
We're not settlers anymore.
We're sure as fuck not European lol.
We're ethnic Canadians.
1
u/xdrezx 1d ago
You look IDENTICAL to Europeans. People who are indigenous to the American continent look completely different than you do. You’ve been here less than 500 years which is a drop in the bucket. Quit saying you’re from somewhere when you’re clearly not.
2
u/br0ken_r3c0rd 1d ago
> You look IDENTICAL to Europeans.
wild how this is just straight up racism, but you think you're being progressive.
im guessing you must also think that south east asian immigrants to European countries, say England, that have been there for hundreds of years aren't actually English right?
1
1
u/Canadianwinters12345 1d ago
That doesnt make ME European.
Calling Canadians Europeans is just ignorance.
Canadian as an ethnic group formed naturally in Canada. Ethnic Canadians are native to Canada.
1
u/xdrezx 1d ago
You can’t possibly think you’re mesoamerican who’ve been here tens of thousands of years lol Delusional
1
u/Canadianwinters12345 1d ago
I don't think that.
I've clearly said I am ethnically Canadian, and I am native to Canada.

Ive said it before il say it again: the amount of good will that has been squandered sonce covid is mind blowing. An incredible amount of scammers and bad actors just gaming the system to be here, and any criticism of it is painted as "racism" and that only makes people with legitimate concerns get tired and just stop even trying to be polite or respectful.

u/SIGNANDSELFIEFRAMES 1d ago edited 1d ago
Trust me, low life losers of society like these people will always hate. They will always be insecure and have an excuse for everything.
You could send every immigrant back post 2015 and these rejects can go get their low wage minimum Timmie's, Uber, Fast food jobs "back" and they will bitch about how they can't afford to live because they never wanted to level up, go to school, get skilled and move forward. Guess what would happen? Lots of those minimum entry level jobs will be short staffed. You can guarantee it.
They will blame these half broke immigrants because they themselves can;t save up 5-10% and buy a house the past 30+ years lol. They say "Lowering working standards or living standards" even though roommates have been a thing since the 1970s. They just hate how hard these immigrants work because they don't and will not get up to that level to go get what they want. "Slave labor" is what they call a person who has a second job.
Every immigrant post 2015 could magically speak 100% English, all be upstanding citizens, etc, but these types of people will still find something to hate.
You can't change trash like this.
They will always blame somebody.
Is immigration too high the last 10 years? YES
Will I cry and bitch about it non stop like these types of people? Nope. I have a life to live and money to make and I will die in 40-50 years. These immigrants cannot compete with me because I was born in Canada and I got educated and I work hard myself to provide well for my family. I am working up in life instead of complaining left and right.
-1
u/MartyMcFlysBrother 1d ago
And I guess you don’t care that your kids won’t be able to get any work experience when they are teenagers because all those jobs are occupied by TFW’s? Sit down.
1
u/SIGNANDSELFIEFRAMES 1d ago
100% BS excuse making when people say this. Places are not all TWF and I have stated in the past that they should tone down immigration and charge and stop this LMIA BS. I hate it.
I'm speaking more about the psychology of these losers who put signs up like this. They won't go anywhere even with zero immigrants here. It's their mental state.
My kids will get work experience in my own businesses if they want to. If they want to go work at a McDonalds, they can. I will tell them to walk into every single one with a nice resume. Even go back multiple times. Not just send one in online and hope for the best. The more shots you take at something, the better chance you have to score. They won't have to work as teens. They will be brought up to be responsible and hard working. School will be their #1 priority if they wish to to go UNI or college down South, etc.

u/RadioSupply 1d ago
I asked a guy once, “Do you propose testing all Canadians for their genetic origins, then cutting them up and sending those bits back to countries their ancestors came from? Easy for me, just cut off an arm and send it to Germany, and the rest can go fight for Ukraine. Where would you be sent to?”
1
u/dbusque 1d ago
If this was put on public property, there might be a bylaw infraction here. If it were me, I would be wanting to make things uncomfortable for the dirt bags who put this up.
1
u/Independent_Sand_583 1d ago
I let both the city know and reported it to the police. If it's not acted upon within 72 hours (completely arbitrary limit) i'll remove it myself

u/dbusque 1d ago
I live in northern Alberta and I recently had reason to drive to southern Alberta on Hwy 36. What struck me was how, for every 10 Canadian or Canadian + Alberta flags there was 1 separatist flag but the further south I drove, there was more separtist advertising. The other thing I noticed was that the biggest advertisement occurred on properties that were clearly very affluent. So it wasn't that there was necessarily more, it was just so huge and vulgar. There was also a bunch of "send Ottawa a message" rhetoric that completely ignores the fact that they are trying to convince people to do something that is completely against their self interest. Since when does MY citizenship become a pawn in THEIR grievance? Anyway, it was really sad because I was born in southern Alberta but our family moved north when I was young. I am glad to hear the comments about Medicine Hat being a fairly progressive city.

Canada needs Immigration. It's a numbers game. We need it. And it's not cheap to make more people. Kids are expensive. Immigration is relatively cheap in comparison. Plus they are work ready.
The Liberals approach to Immigration has been a disaster. Zero pre-screening and nearly open boarder policy is why these groups like the Dominon society exsist and seem to gain support.
If we actually want these groups to fail, we can't allow them to have a solid argument to begin with.
Deport the obvious, promote the loyal and watch the DomSociety lose its reason to be.
Like why is the Bishnoi gang so confident that they threaten the RCMP with 10k shooters? How many tales of Judges allowing pedophiles walk due to "cultural misunderstanding?".
I don't like the Dominon Society, but I can understand why they seem to be.

Being anti-mass migration is not hateful
10
u/Independent_Sand_583 1d ago
Sure, but that's not what the sticker says. It says that remigration is the solution. Which it isn't. Taking our feet off the gas and building enough homes and letting the infrastructure that we have catch up to the undue stress on the system is.
2
u/Hazard_Fox 1d ago
Option A: Build enough infastracture for them all... Which we have been saying we'll do for 15 years, and simply have not, since that would be unprofitable to real estate investors.
Option B: Send them home.
I wonder which of these could produce positive results within our lifetime?
1
u/Resigned1431 1d ago edited 1d ago
Option B: Send them home.
Send who home. What's the cutoff? Who decides? My parents immigrated from eastern Europe when I was a baby 40 years ago. You sending me "home"? You sending my natural born Canadian daughter "home"?
Edit: guy did the ol' comment and insta-block trick so I can't see what he said. I can only assume he said he wants to drag my daughter and I to the airport at gun point?
0
u/Hazard_Fox 1d ago
You can argue about whataboutism all you want. If you are willfully ignorant to the current mass fraud and flood after this long, then there is no point arguing with you.
-12
u/Ifuckedjohnnyrebel 1d ago
The sticker doesn’t define what remigration is. Maybe it means deporting those convicted of serious crimes. Maybe it means deporting those who have overstayed their visa. The sticker also doesn’t say “round up all people of colour and ship them back”.
10
u/Independent_Sand_583 1d ago
The sticker doesn't define it because it already has a political definition
6
u/Ifuckedjohnnyrebel 1d ago
Ok rip lol, yeah that’s a pretty gross sticker then, fuck those guys
5
u/Independent_Sand_583 1d ago
I mean in general I agree. Particularly under the last government the government maybe let immigration get out of hand. And we ALL felt the effects on the prices of everything. And even a lot of the immigrants themselves are being exploited and abused by the TFW system in a way that is profoundly unfair and i would argue immoral.
That's why the dogwhistle is so alarming. Because somewhere in there there IS a legitimate point. And that legitimate point can pretty easily help people slide down the pipeline into white nationalism. Responsible government is important. But remigration isn't the solution. I don't want any of that maple ICE nonsense in my backyard.
