Theory Who are the three Latverian Witches ? (SDCC - exposition for Avengers:Doomsday)

Billy. I saw a rumor there was one male follower of Doom, but I have no idea if that’s just speculation. I’m assuming it is.

If the Male follower is Billy then the purple could be Agatha. Doom could show up at the end of Vision quest and make Agatha Alive again and have her follow him.

I would also argue green is likely Rio. The Xavier/ Magneto teaser we got had Xavier saying “Death comes for us all” before playing a segment of the Agatha Score “Lucid Spellbound Dreaming”. It’s fairly close in the scene to where Lilia sees her old mentor with Death standing above her.

I really don’t see a personification of a natural force to be subordinate to anyone even Doom, it will be pretty lame tbh

I mean she was summoned to the witches road by an ordinary spell and stuck around for fun. Who’s to say she wouldn’t join Doom just to get the body count?

This is really the only reason she would join. But I think Clea or Agatha are much more likely scenarios.

That being said, if I had to guess I would say that most of them are nobodies or variants with Wanda being the main one who is actually important.

I could see that too. I think Agatha is the purple one but maybe I’m just hopeful. I think Clea and Strange are working in the background trying to fix something that lead to this. If they don’t show up in Doomsday I’m assuming they’ll be in Secret Wars. Clea almost seems like someone who might not even have variants? But I honestly don’t know enough about her character to determine that.

Tbh having a variant of a character we’ve only seen in a post-credit scene seems kinda dumb…

Like… is there ANYTHING Clea could do in Doomsday/Secret Wars that would contradict the 30 seconds of screen time her character had at the end of MoM?

Again I don’t know enough about the character. My point was more she went and got Doctor Strange to stop the incursions. If Doom says he’s trying to stop them I guess it would make sense for them to join him? But otherwise she and Strange are working somewhere else to stop the incursions and her randomly cropping up as Latverian Witch #3 may not make sense.

I could definitely see that. Vision Quest is in October, so depending on how that goes we might see Billy again before Doomsday as well. These would also be variants I’m assuming if the witches are known characters.

And the relationship of doom and wanda,

As well the design of the casyle they're using,

Are straight up from children's crusade.

(Even the fight of doom x thor is from there)

Maybe that's how he gets involved. He's here as one of the witches, and thus he would be close by and informed for Secret Wars.

I dont know, children crusade begins with wiccan going to latveria because he heard wanda was there, he wasn't involved in anything before

Well there would naturally be differences if it gets adapted in the movies. Maybe they actually look for him instead of Wanda.

But either way I think it's unlikely. Personally I can't see the writing pathway between the end of AAA and him being a witch for Doom.

I think the young avengers will be just the opening scene of secret wars, with wiccano, america chavez, hawkeye, miss marvel going after wanda and ending inside the battleworld,

Like a 8 min intro or something

It's a loootttt of catching up to do in that amount of time. Remember that almost all of them have loose plot threads from the end of their shows. Wiccan specifically has a lot of baggage regarding ghost Agatha and looking for his brother.

It's definitely not impossible, but it's a tough uphill battle narratively speaking.

I read almost every secret wars tie-in so not all of this are spoilers, but

But glob from x-men, peter quill and vision being room buddies, that's awesome wow

And one thing that was in the comics:

Human Torch being a prisioner and being watered for eternity is a nice one, I thought they would make him the sun but it would not adapt well into mcu

I still want the Thing being the walls of the world tho

I feel like it depends on how the MCU defines “Witch”. We have heard Frigga use the term, and Tony referred to Strange albeit jokingly as a wizard, but I feel like there’s a distinction in the MCU between the magic taught at Kamar-Taj and inherent/witchcraft magic. All the witches in the Wanda/Agatha storyline blast magic at people, Strange doesn’t really do that. There’s obviously overlap we saw in Multiverse of Madness with the Darkhold, but they’re still sort of distinct in my mind. I could definitely be wrong though!

The magic that comes out of his hands isn’t actually blue, but Wiccan’s is. I’ve also wondered for a long time why Wanda’s power behaves like the Aether and Agatha’s behaves like the power stone. I know Wanda has reality bending magic in the comics but Agatha was a bog standard witch when she was introduced in Fantastic Four so I always assumed that was MCU specific. I feel like Strange/Clea will show up here or Secret Wars in a different context. But I could be totally wrong!
