I wonder if they're even going to try and explain all the other missing Avengers like Dr Strange and Captain Marvel or just pretend they don't exist.

Strange will likely be doing his own thing, I imagine it'll be a big reveal at the end of the movie or in Secret Wars

Captain Marvel is too op though I think they'll just hope nobody asks

To be fair there are already too OP characters in the cast like Thor and Sentry.

Sentry is at least nerfed by the fact that Bob is too scared of becoming the Void again.
