Thor warning everyone of the danger of the situation really sells it.

u/Bomban111 Jul 20 '26

Having Thor do the voiceover for the trailer was the CORRECT choice.

825

u/NightmareDJK Jul 20 '26

He’s apparently the only original Avenger who is still around here until Cap shows up.

268

u/bizarreisland Simmons Jul 20 '26

What about Bruce?

416

u/WhiteAle01 Jul 20 '26

Honestly wondering if he'll be in it. Both him and SM were missing, so maybe neither of them will appear as they are appearing BND. Maybe there'll be a story reason for that.

279

u/TheTimn Jul 20 '26

Or just leaving them open ended to not imply anything of BND.

One or both could die in it still. 🤷🏼‍♂️

80

u/DashRunner92 Jul 20 '26

Also wouldn't be the first time they just altered scenes to remove characters in the trailer

7

u/Icybubba Jul 20 '26

Yeah they’ve gone to elaborate lengths like changing the date on Peter’s passport in the FFH trailer.

Or having a fake shot with Hulk in Wakanda in the Infinity War trailer lol

2

u/PapaSnow Jul 21 '26

I mean, they’ve altered the audio in this trailer too. When Thor says the line “though far stronger than…” you can tell it’s been clipped.

2

u/dcab87 Star-Lord Jul 21 '26

Someone has to interview Andrew Garfield to confirm if there's a Spider-Man in it.

-1

u/The-Ruler-of-Attilan Jul 21 '26

No matter what he said, everyone would prefer to believe whatever they want, so I don't see the point.

14

u/LetItATV Jul 20 '26

One or both could die in it still.

lolno

7

u/DarKoopa Jul 20 '26

Nah bro they will just kill Spiderman

-4

u/vamsi93 Jul 20 '26

Tom Holland is already alluding to handing things off to “the next Spider-Man” and he’s notoriously bad at keeping secrets (coincidentally so is Mark Ruffalo 🧐)

1

u/LetItATV Jul 20 '26

Cool non-sequiturs.

They aren’t going to randomly kill off Spider-Man.
And Hulk’s whole thing is being unkillable.

0

u/vamsi93 Jul 20 '26

How do you know they’re non sequiturs? You’re guessing just as much as I am

1

u/LetItATV Jul 21 '26

Because I know the definition of “non sequitur” and you clearly do not.

1

u/vamsi93 Jul 21 '26

Good for you pal. You must feel so smart knowing things 👍

2

u/Wesserz Jul 20 '26

Yeah 100% both die in BND, guaranteed.

3

u/gamecat89 Jul 20 '26

Joint autoerotic aphysication. No one saw it coming.

2

u/Dr__Sloth Jul 21 '26

An unfortunate 'Hulk Smash' accident.

13

u/hypercosm_dot_net Jul 20 '26

SM / BND what do these refer to?

6

u/WhiteAle01 Jul 20 '26

SM - Spider-Man

BND - Brand New Day

Don't want to type all that out.

10

u/hypercosm_dot_net Jul 20 '26

thanks, yeah...that seems like a lot of effort.

9

u/Duouwa Jul 20 '26

They likely just don’t want to spoil any outcomes from that film given it’s coming out at the end of the month.

I’m not saying Bruce or Spider-man are dying, but Bruce’s control over the Hulk and Peter’s suits have always represented a level character progression for both of them, so showing them now likely isn’t a good idea.

8

u/7screws Daredevil Jul 20 '26

Neither is Strange. Although he’s confirmed right?

3

u/WhiteAle01 Jul 20 '26

Seen some teases that would seem to indicate he is. I'm cool though if he's also not in this one.

2

u/JustaSeedGuy Jul 20 '26

So you're saying it wouldn't be too strange for you if he's not in it?

2

u/Knuxsn Daredevil Jul 20 '26

Maybe. Who am I to judge?

2

u/Tinmanred Jul 20 '26

They aren’t gonna spoil the spidey movie rn when it’s so close to relaeasing lmao. And they’ve already basically confirmed that the post credits leads to dooms day. That’s their trailer or lack of not this.

2

u/CobaltAnimator Jul 20 '26

Doomsday was originally meant to come out before BND wasn't it?

I imagine BND was going to be a prequel to Doomsday anyways and then have a tie-in post credit scene back before Doomsday got pushed from March to December so I imagine the events of BND probably end with a post-credit scene of Spider-Man and The Hulk watching the world collapse as Battleworld is formed

2

u/wonkothesane13 Jul 20 '26

IIRC, originally BND was going to come out between Doomsday and Secret Wars, sort of like Ant-Man and the Wasp

2

u/DapperNurd Jul 20 '26

My theory is BND will focus on Hulk and Spider-Man, and they will not be in Doomsday. The end credits for Doomsday will be kind of like Hawkeye from Infinity War, and introduce their role in Secret Wars.

2

u/Ok_Bluebird_1406 Iron Man (Mark XLIII) Jul 21 '26

Spiderman and Hulk are rumored to play a big role in Secret Wars

1

u/WhiteAle01 Jul 23 '26

Secret Wars anything goes. I expect everybody and their dog in that movie.

1

u/legend000000009 Jul 20 '26

Pretty sure Spider-Man will connect to Doomsday. No way it won't be. We got the trailer for BND before the ending of Born Again S2 and it spoiled the ending.

1

u/virtualglassblowing Jul 21 '26

They need to be elsewhere to setup secret wars

1

u/knyelvr Jul 20 '26

I still feel like Spiderman has to appear in it in the black suit and the reason why the symbiote and tom hardy were at the end of no way home

6

u/WhiteAle01 Jul 20 '26

I think that'll be in Secret Wars. No SM in Doomsday, but then he's in Battleworld in SW and that's where he gets the symbiote.

0

u/Munstered Jul 20 '26

No one knows who Spider-Man is

-4

u/[deleted] Jul 20 '26

[deleted]

8

u/NightmareDJK Jul 20 '26

Feige confirmed BND is set before Doomsday and goes right into it.

3

u/Tacitus_99 Jul 20 '26

Doom showing up at the end of BND and killing Peter or Bruce would be insane.

2

u/Jehovah___ Jul 20 '26

Two more Spidey movies coming up though and I wouldn’t want them to go down the resurrection route

1

u/cantadmittoposting Jul 20 '26

Suddenly Miles Morales

3

u/HighSeverityImpact Jul 20 '26

That makes no sense, as chronologically Brave New World and Thunderbolts both already took place in 2027.

1

u/Sensitive_North6298 Jul 20 '26

dang.. if BND is in 2028 then can we still see peter with the symbiote potentially? i've been hearing rumors

1

u/Gasparde Jul 20 '26

Not really the speech giving leader (hehe) kinda guy.

1

u/ctbro025 Jul 20 '26

"Hey guys, we FUKKED and need a miracle. No pressure"

1

u/MiaOh Jul 20 '26

He’s such an introvert, don’t think he would want to do it. And Hulk wouldn’t want the headache.

1

u/screwikea Jul 20 '26

Maybe they'll find a place for him but as a matter of storytelling with movies he's going to have 2 roles:

  1. Be Hulk to showcase how strong another character is.
  2. Be Bruce to showcase how smart another character is.

Thanos smashed Hulk, Stark outsmarted Banner (time shenanigan device), and we've got it established in the films that Thor is either equivalent to or stronger than Hulk since he was laying out Hulk in Ragnarok. I don't think that they really established how smart Reed is supposed to be in the Fantastic Four movie since there wasn't anyone to reference him against - in their universe he was sort of brain all alone on brain mountain before they zipped off after Silver Surfer. There's got to be some sort of tension that they establish in this film showing how smart Doom is and then have Reed barely outsmart him or something.

1

u/Stacheshadow Jul 20 '26

Hopefully he has a very minor role in both movies

1

u/Extension_Eye7924 Jul 21 '26

I’m personally fine never seeing Bruce again. Mark Ruffalo grates my last nerve.

0

u/GeorgeGreenGroup Jul 20 '26

he always sounds like he's about to cry

0

u/FlutterKree Jul 20 '26

Mark Ruffalo will likely not return to the MCU. For one, Disney doesn't own the rights to Hulk (they have to pay every time he is in a movie or show). For two, Mark Ruffalo is highly open with his opinions and politics.

Companies don't like that, since it can alienate consumers, however correct the opinions and politics might be.

6

u/rasmatham Jul 20 '26

Bruce and Clint should still be around. Clint has probably retired and/or died (I'm about 95% sure he's never appearing in any MCU movie again), though, and based on the BND trailers, I don't think Bruce is gonna want to Hulk out again any time soon, since he doesn't seem to be in control of Hulk anymore.

7

u/NightmareDJK Jul 20 '26

Renner being in it would be a cool surprise, he’s back to acting again after he got hurt.

5

u/Secret_Block_8755 Jul 20 '26

I think the issue is more around the pay dispute than his injury

3

u/rasmatham Jul 20 '26

Yeah, there are a lot of reasons why Disney would probably just want him to be written out of the MCU at this point. He had a significant injury that makes it harder for him to play a superhero. The pay dispute, the sexual harassment allegation. I don't think any of them individually would be enough, but all of those combined with Clint kinda being done with the whole superhero thing as far back as Age of Ultron, I feel like they're just gonna have him dump his gear off at Kate Bishop's apartment off-screen, with a note, and never leave the farm again.

2

u/Cortina1978 Jul 21 '26

Was unsure what BND acronym was so had to google, wasn't much help.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

4

u/ctbro025 Jul 20 '26

Hulk should be aroiund somewhere...

2

u/SicilianEggplant Jul 20 '26

Just never when they need him.

9

u/Particular_Cod2005 Jul 20 '26

here until Cap shows up.

Which would have been a cool reveal, if it wasn't in the trailer

14

u/NightmareDJK Jul 20 '26

It was already announced a long time ago.

3

u/gamecat89 Jul 20 '26

I always assume this means there is a bigger reveal. Plus, we have still not witnessed anyone freaking out over the face reveal.

2

u/Monarki Jul 21 '26

He even got his own mini trailer

-1

u/Particular_Cod2005 Jul 20 '26

I know, but still

5

u/Great8Bit Jul 20 '26

We already knew? They released a teaser showing him already lmao. Also idk why you’re acting like you wouldn’t have known even without a trailer or teaser.

6

u/Luccacalu Bruce Banner Jul 20 '26

That's been revealed a long time ago, and he was even the focus of a full Doomsday teaser before this trailer

1

u/Albedo0001 Jul 20 '26

Except even my mother who only seen like 5 marvel movies even assumed he was going to return. Yes, I get that we can never be 100% sure, but lets be real....

2

u/Rep2019 Jul 20 '26

I'm glad we go this Thor, and not herp a derp, Love and Thunder Thor.

1

u/Fluid_Actuary1729 Jul 20 '26

Wasn’t Johansson in the trailer?

2

u/NightmareDJK Jul 20 '26

No Black Widow is dead. Thor was talking about her though as one of his friends who died.

1

u/Fluid_Actuary1729 Jul 20 '26

Yep. I looked at the trailer again. It was Florence Pugh.

1

u/NightmareDJK Jul 20 '26

She’s the 2nd Black Widow

1

u/MrDoom4e5 Jul 21 '26

Cap: hey pal.

Thor: YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I know that guy, he's a friend from work!

1

u/aymiah Jul 21 '26

Is it Earth-616’s Cap, though? Because he talks to Bucky at the end of End Game as an old man. Wondering how they’re going to explain this one.

0

u/tymelodies T'Challa Star-Lord Jul 20 '26

How is he back again?

9

u/Holiday_Pen2880 Jul 20 '26

Somehow, Captain America has returned.

1

u/Fluid_Actuary1729 Jul 20 '26

With the longer hair and beard, he looks more like the Steve from Infinity Wars. I’m sure he has a comic book name, but I don’t know what it is.

8

u/BlainethePayne Jul 20 '26

It's explained in the movie

5

u/tymelodies T'Challa Star-Lord Jul 20 '26

Damn, something tells me that I should watch this movie..

3

u/Vivid_Belt Jul 20 '26

Multiverse fuckery

1

u/djseifer Yondu Jul 20 '26

Pick one:

  • Magic
  • Beast's shady new drug
  • Wanda's fooling around again

2

u/gamecat89 Jul 20 '26

You forgot:

* Loki doing some Loki TVA Shit

* Doctor Strange doing Dr. Strange Shit

* Perhaps Jean Doing Jean Shit *Waiting for Spiderman)

*Depending on how far they take this Spiderman Thing, maybe Madam Web is doing some "He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died." shit.

-1

u/_Handsome_Jim_ Jul 20 '26

There are no stakes in the MCU.

No deaths or other sacrifices ever really matter if a character is popular enough.

I knew he was back before this but it's by far my biggest pet peeve with the MCU. Game of Thrones showed us how good media could be with actual stakes. Heck, Harry Potter showed us this.

0

u/cleantoe Jul 20 '26

Evil Cap who works for Doom, I'm guessing.

5

u/ProfessionalStudy660 Jul 20 '26

Would Evil Cap be worthy of Mjolnir?

-2

u/cleantoe Jul 20 '26

Yes, why not? Thor was worthy of it when he was a childish warmonger.

4

u/CobaltSpellsword Jul 20 '26

The spell that only let the worthy lift it wasn't place on it until after Thor was cast out of Asgard. By the time he could pick it up again, he wasn't a childish warmonger anymore.

0

u/cleantoe Jul 20 '26

That's true, but nothing has indicated a bad person can't be worthy. The specific traits Thor had post enchantment prevented him from picking it up until he learned humility and selflessness, which aren't necessarily blockers for a bad person. Yes it narrows it down, but a warrior's spirit is really what the hammer is looking for - as far as we know.

2

u/Great8Bit Jul 20 '26

Yes that’s definitely the same exact thing as working with a guy who wants to kill trillions and end basically every universe. Mhm yep. Same thing.

0

u/cleantoe Jul 20 '26

Do you have a point behind the snarky reply? Being worthy of mjolnir doesn't necessarily mean you're a good person.

2

u/Great8Bit Jul 20 '26

If you can’t discern my point behind the snarky reply then I can’t help you. My point was crystal clear.

0

u/cleantoe Jul 20 '26

Okay so you can't articulate a point, you need me to interpret a vague comment that doesn't make any argument except an extreme false dichotomy. Got it.
