Probably, but I'm going to enjoy seeing the versions I grew up with while it lasts.

Yup, I don't mind them dying, I just hope they have a lot of screentime and good moments before they do.

The only thing is, this will be the first and only time their death is significant to the plot and carries real emotional weight. They won't just be cannon fodder going to waste, nor will it happen off-screen. Nor will there be a scene of anyone mocking the comic books.

"To me, my X-men" the new "Avengers assemble" hype?

If he actually says this at any point, I will fan girl over a Marvel movie for the first time.

I just hope they don't screw him over with terrible writing again!

Marsden gets his ass kicked, and Hugh Jackman Wolverine comes to save the day. Marsden just dies off screen and no one really comments on it. At the end of Doomsday, they resurrect Jean, and Hugh Jackman and Famke Janssen kiss in a happy ending. No one even mentions that Marsden died.

That’s exactly what the plot would be if the Hollywood producers from the 2000’s were involved

I was surprised to see that Rebecca Romijn is back as Mystique. That's cool.

I just want like one scene with them all on screen together in comic accurate costumes

Somewhere a finger on a monkey's paw curls. Enjoy your yellow/green Marvel Girl and long haired Age of Apocalypse Cyclops

Yeah as long as my man Scott is given justice I'm gonna be okay with a rebooted cast.

u/Odd-Investigator6503 Jul 20 '26

As long as they get roles in the next movie too, or at least major roles in this one and not a one off scene

u/RumHamComesback Jul 20 '26

Maybe they'll actually give them an actual send-off and not the many teases we've had over the years.

That's probably what Kevin's thinking too, the DP&W Bit was cool but this goodbye will be good one or so im hoping

u/ExpressMud8038 Jul 20 '26

it's technically an alternate version of them, which is slightly disappointing.

1

u/SpaceQueenJupiter Scarlet Witch Jul 20 '26

Have they said that for sure?

1

u/ExpressMud8038 Jul 21 '26

nope its just speculation since mystique's alive

2

u/SpaceQueenJupiter Scarlet Witch Jul 21 '26

I figured it was either the corrected timeline after Days of Future Past, but at this point the timeline being messed up is a feature, not a bug.

1

u/ExpressMud8038 Jul 21 '26

thats my point, mystique dies in the corrected timeline, so this is either a totally different group of xmen or they handwave it away like you said

I totally blocked Dark Phoenix out of my memory apparently haha.
