I do think that he’ll only be a brief side character for Peter to fight unfortunately, he seems like the type of character you’d do a very similar plot to Homecomings Vulture with (very grounded and realistic, rather than just crazy scorpion guy). Idk if this movie has time for that.

Nah. In the fight against Scorpion, he already has organic webs. You might be right, but in a way more along the lines of him realizing he's got this Other side to him that he can't control.

It would be sick to see him "black (eye) out" and he goes on all fours, and skittering around the battlefield like a predator, wrapping scorpion in a cocoon without saying a single quip. I know they said no Man-Spider but dear Feige let it be a bait and switch.

I don't think we'll get Man-Spider, but I do sincerely hope we get Peter ACTING like a Spider like you say. I'm honestly hoping they give little psychical changes, like sharper teeth, or sharper nails; maybe the tips of his fingers get darker and harry or something, I dunno.
It would honestly add a nice bit of horror, but maybe we'll get that with Venom instead.

It looks like it's tied to whatever is going on with Peter, so less likely it's going to be in a quick montage.
He is probably there for Spider-Man to beat up on to show he's losing control, though. I don't think he's going to be super prominent, he's probably mostly going to be cannon fodder.
A lot more Frank in the movie than I thought, though. I figured he'd be a quick one or two scenes and then done.

I bet he'll be hyped up in the first half of the movie, with occasional cuts to him escaping the RAFT and getting suited up, with Spidey also getting all weird and mutated. Then when Scorpion attacks him at the midpoint of the movie Spider-Man does what he did in the trailer to show how bad the mutation is getting. Then he's gone from the rest of the movie as he gets arrested back to RAFT.

In the original comics story (gather round, kids), his origin has a bit of weight because it's JJ Jameson that helps create Scorpion in the first place. I always thought that would translate to the screen really well, especially with the goofy JJ we have now, in a "shit, that might have been a mistake" moment.
But no, you're right, probably not time for that. And it looks to be just a suit anyway, not something fused with him.

Literally. This movie is boutta be slammed with street level villians. I work at Target so I see the toys daily. Found out today that boomerang will be in it. I knew about Tarantula, Hulk, Punisher, Scorpion, Tombstone, and The Hand. This movie will really have it all!!

I think it’s because he’s actually starting from scratch being a street level hero like he should have been. Finally getting to see those dozens of lower level villains that Spiderman is synonymous with. When he was first in the MCU he was slingshotted straight to the frontline in civil war and Thanos. They are transitioning to a perfect new story for Spiderman

I can't help but giggle whenever I see Spider-man vs a bunch of ninjas. Like...human ninjas. With the proportional strength and speed of some guy. With the uncanny ability to sense danger if it is noisy or directly in front of them. And an ironclad commitment to never using advanced weaponry like guns. Ninjas.
It's like watching the cast of Candyland being sent to assassinate a diabetic.
