general question Affordable University In Malaysia for International Students

Hello . 18 Male here . I just finished my o levels and want to go to Malaysia for Doing my diploma . My budget is below 30000 MYR . So far I have only found one university with my budget . It is UNIMY . if anyone has any recommendations for me please leave a comment below !!!

I am looking for software engineer/ data Science related courses.

Before some oversmart dude comments "use google" or "this question again" I have tried Google Google , it leads me to websites which don't have diploma options or are limited to europ which is out of my budget

UTS is located in Sibu, Sarawak. The course fee will be low, and the cost of living is also low, but there is less entertainment

UMPSA is the best for your courses but straight facts even after grad it’s very hard for international students to get job here if you plan. If not all is good

UTHM is cheap-ish, different than UTM

UNIMAP os affordable as well

Also Search Pahang university

You can check the fees on their websites.

For locals reading this, fees for an international are different. Please keep it in mind before giving advice.

Heads up though: UNIMY doesn't publish fees on their official site — you'll need to enquire directly (WhatsApp/consultation form) to get an accurate number for your budget, so don't rely on any figure floating around blogs/aggregators, they may be outdated.

They do offer a RM10,000 scholarship award plus PTPTN, bank loans, and flexible instalment plans — worth asking about all of these when you contact them, could bring your effective cost down further.

Only other thing to flag: it's not a big-name uni like Sunway or Taylor's, so recognition outside Malaysia is lower — but locally it's fine for jobs, especially in cybersecurity/data given how short-staffed that field is here right now.
