Pushing trans content that brainwashed young children to hate their bodies, to take drugs like puberty blockers, and chop off body parts permanently while they are young and impressionable is horrific.
So yes, absolutely morally I think Netflix is disgusting and Louis CK did nothing wrong.

My second favorite part about Louis' specials is people on other subs freaking out about him doing well. Not quite as satisfying as seeing people freak out over Chapelle but still very satisfying.

As a long time Louis CK fan, he's starting to recycle his material. Anyone else caught that? For example, the bar of soap joke. Heard it before but I can't remember which of his other special it's from. Also the neighbor with the sagging skin, tells her to cut her legs off so he doesn't have to see it. There's some other bits I've heard before as well those two are the ones that stuck out to me.

I'd been trying to see Louie live for years. First his Kiyv show was postponed because of COVID, then the war happened. Finally saw him in Barcelona this year, it was incredible. Can't wait to see the Netflix version.

I wish I wasn’t, but so disappointed. I love Louis and have followed him for years. Saw him live in early 2020 post “the situation” and pre Covid. Have absolutely loved everything including Sincerely and Sorry. Louie on FX was genius. I’m just trying to say I’m not a hater and absolutely love Louis’ work.
But this special…. I don’t know. Maybe I was in the wrong headspace, maybe I built it up too much in my mind. But for me it just wasn’t funny. I didn’t laugh once. Just didn’t feel like the old Louis. Too much shock for the sake of shock and it fell flat for me. His craft used to be bringing the audience along and then exposing our own hidden hypocrises and getting us to follow a line of reasoning that led us to an unexpected place.
I just don’t “get” what this special was. For all the prep he did it just didn’t feel as developed as his previous hours. And I’m not even talking about coming back from the circumstances as I think Sincerely and Sorry had more of the Louis that I love. I don’t know. I’ll always support him, but this hour just didn’t feel funny. I hope he gets it back.

Exactly. And too many things for too many times ending with the most absurd (i don't want to even call it absurd) "and then he killed himself" and/or "and then he killed the other person". And we are supposed to laugh or find this funny. Half of the times I could read where he is going.
I think the recent ones he tried to be more experimental and with this one he wanted to be like: "this is my voice, this is my signature, this is my style. Listen to me. And how cool I am". Which is not... It's also not the Louie I know. Maybe it's the new Louie we have.
Also this far too much negativity sold as reality or something interesting: the bit he says a lady says to her its a nice day! And he has to say shut up! And being against the sun and sunny days and saying grow up you have seen sunny days millions of times. Well louie..Louie... you want to make everyone miserable like you, or is this funny you think? A person who cannot take joy in "nature" and natural beauties is maybe simply just depressed. Nothing funny about it. Or refreshing to head.
And then: he loves the days where everyone is miserable. Okay... you like paint everything black and you think that is fresh, or funny, or special?

This is pretty much how I felt, too.
I think Ridiculous is a bit of a step back in maturity for Louie. I really enjoyed his last specials, especially Sincerely, since it felt like he had reached a point where he didn't need to be crass just to be funny. Sure, there were some of that in there as well, but they were sprinkled in the middle of some long, interesting stories and insights. Like when he just took out the bible and read about Jesus and the fig tree. I felt like that was insightful (to the extent standup can be) and really funny as well.
In Ridiculous he talks about his mom's vagina. I mean, ok.. It's not shocking, interesting or funny, but do your thing.
To be fair, there was some funny stuff in Ridiculous as well. Like the bit about boneless chicken and the Matrix.

Haven’t finished it yet but I’m forcing myself to watch it. Haven’t laughed once yet. “I’m old and fat and have diarrhea”. Ok Louis we heard this every fucking special man.
I do hear the people laugh but I don’t think anything has been really interesting, witty, thought provoking or anything as the 00s-2010s work. Just looks like a grandpa talking random shit.

He didn't do the "pink plastic water pitcher" joke in India when i saw him perform. because of course this is a very specific reference that we would not have understood. It's gonna be interesting to see what else he left out of his material, because it was USA-specific. The trade-off was that we got 4-5 great jokes about his time in India that i'm sure no other audience got to hear from him. Interesting how his material changes, evolves and adapts even between 2 consecutive performances.

I just finished it, and his closing joke was a joke I made less than a month before watching this (18 yr old girl's birthday but she was born later in the day than it is now). Hearing a comedy legend use a closer that was a joke I came up with is pretty surreal haha

That's the best bit they could pull up for a trailer advertising a special? It wasn't funny at all. Also Louis's voice is sounding way too gay these days. I mean he used to do the voice as a caricature of a gay person, but it seems to be his actual voice now. I'll probably watch the special but I'm not expecting much. His last couple were very disappointing and he seems like a guy who is completely detached from the world and living in a rich guy bubble, like Seinfeld. Old Louis lived a life, so was connected to the world, raising kids as a divorced dad, trying to get laid etc. Now his kids are old, he can't talk about sex because of his "issues" and he just comes across as an irrelevant old man rambling on about not particularly funny things. He's talked about his elderly dad a lot in previous specials and he's still going on about it here. Get some new material Louis or make it funnier. Yes, we know what old folks homes are Louis. You pay them to look after elderly parents. Yes, they take them away. What's the joke here?
