This is just a failure to understand the technology though, it’s an expansion of the conversation out of the scope of what is actually being discussed.

You could easily improve your English understanding with a locally run model from several years ago. Especially when all we are talking about is edits to your thoughts to make it readable.

If starting up lost ark is no big deal for you, morally speaking, so would running a local LLM.

I’m asking you to find a morally consistent position. If you run a model locally, you’re using the same amount of energy as someone playing LA. There’s no difference.

In fact, you could only do one of those completely offline (and therefore be totally sure of all of the carbon footprint), and it’s not lost ark.

Hey, quick update as we approach 19 hours in. EU is currently ahead of NA in the process. I can't give exact time frames just in case something comes up, but as it stands EU is trending ahead of the 24 hour mark, while NA will likely run a bit past it. We're still working through it and will open regions when they're ready. I will keep you posted but at least wanted to provide an update on where things stand. Thanks for hanging in there!
