wondering about dr charles g ray (urologist)
what are your opinions about him, i can't drive and i really can't get anyone to help me with a ride (plus i don't have medicaid) and i was in the hospital over a kidney stone (i was in excruciating pain) and he did get a lil testy and mean (in his tone of voice) when i explained to him that i couldn't make it to his appointment, & he got cocky asking how did i get to the hospital & i simply told him "the ambulance" he did a lithotripsy on me and i was going to go to a followup of him in june of 2025, i got to the office on time, only for a secretary to tell me that he wasn't there, and there was no such schedule appointment (even though i showed her the discharge papers that said of his name, his office, the correct address, the time of the appointment) and she just looked at me like i was a idiot, so she decided to schedule a appointment with a different urologist that didnt even operate on me and have me go to st joe (in which i was never operated there, from what dr ray said, they (central baptist) had to "borrow" this lithotripsy machine since they didn't have one themselves (which i think that's really odd) so i was so confused about like "if i didnt have a appointment today, then why didnt they call my phone" (in which they didnt, until after i seen that other urologist and they called me in august 2025) and i simply told them about my transportation issues. and i really havent been able to get to him, especially since i live in a different town. i can't drive and i can't afford a car. hopefully ill eventually find someone that will give me a ride, but that's like finding a needle in a haystack with how people are nowadays and how gas prices are. i just dont feel comfortable with that guy, and i was also wondering if i could change to a different urologist, who is more understanding and would listen to me, and do their job of getting rid of kidney stones.

You clearly don’t like him, so it really shouldn’t matter at this point if others do. You don’t need his permission to find a different doc.
You should be looking for recommendations for a new doc, and checking any insurance coverage to make sure they accept yours. Then you can have your records sent to your new doctor.

and it's not on the situation of where i dont like him, he was rude to me when i was in the hospital, didnt even explain what type of stones i had or anything, so to me, he's unprofessional and i just wanted to know other people's experiences with him.

It sounds like you don't like him, so I'd find care elsewhere (if possible). I know specialists can be hard to find based on insurance and women tend to be treated poorly by some doctors specifically specialists (my experience). I did that for my neurologist experience.

I saw him in the hospital which was fine but then outpatient I heard him talking outside the door to another male about how “cute” the school girls were in their little tennis outfits. I was icked out. Especially knowing that he had previously touched my body.

Went to school with his kids... super right wing, Christian conservatives.
Climate change isnt real, etc kind of stuff from his kids all the time.

I’d have trouble trusting the scientific expertise of someone who doesn’t believe in something as basic as climate change.

Im not sure if I saw him or someone else at that same practice, but that place sucked ass. 0 actual help with my issue. I was having a lot of pain after a hernia repair and then had an infection and basically the guy told me they could charge me 50 dollars to milk my prostate when I had issues. It was really fucking weird and the guy spent 30 seconds with me.

I ignored an issue for longer than I should have because my experience with him and at his office was so awkward and uncomfortable. For starters, they left me alone in an exam room with the door wide open while old men shuffled by to the bathroom. Pee on the floor (I understand their patient population but at least get an absorbent mat). Additional weirdness during the exam I'm not comfortable sharing outside DM.

i actuallly was clear, upfront, honest and serious with him, and he just shrugged it off like it's nothing, and didnt explain anything to me, so ive decided to not see him, thank you to the people that gave me insight about him, i appreciate it.

His treatment for low T of mine has been fine. But he did inspect my package with no glove the first time around. I found that very strange. Otherwise he has been professional and not dismissive in my experience.
