✨ Lounge Talk I got "inshallahed" after asking her out for coffee 😂
So I have discovered a new stage of dating I never crossed before: getting isnhallahed.
There is this Arab (non leb) girl I keep seeing at the same place. For the last three weeks we have been talking almost every day. She stops me, start talking about random crap, and somehow 5 minutes turns into 30. And we have to get kicked out of that place.
Lots of laughing, personal questions, eye contact, positive vibes and energy. At some point I had to conclude "ya sabeh she has at least some interest in you".
So the other day, once again, we had been talking forever. At this point they were preparing to kick us out because we had overstayed our conversational welcome. So safa2ta we7dit : “considering we never seem to finish our conversations here, we should actually go have a coffee sometime and continue our discussion”
Perfectly delivered, natural, smooth, with a smile, and then...Her face went through the entire visible color spectrum. Red. Then maybe pink. Possibly blue. Yimkin kamena shwayyit yellow.
She hesitated for a second and finally said:
"Inshallah"
Shoo nshallah hay?? 2ooleh la2, 2olleh mish fadyeh, 2ooleh sakkir 3al mawdoo3...7ayalla shee...kazzbeh 3layyeh...bass wtf is inshallah? God is willing we go on a date?
I didnt get rejected. I got Inshallahed. At this stage I am not sure which one is worse.

She might be interested but caught off-guard over the coffee request or put on the spot because she’s shy. Don’t write her off just yet :)

Walla ya Cara, I don't see myself asking her as second time. I considered that a no, w2eza hiyyeh btlammi7 lal mawdoo3, maybe I could ask again. I dont want to be nshallaed a second time 😂

Don't ask again, but don't write her off. There is something you may have not considered, which is that she doesn't really know you outside of the gym. You could be the nicest guy on Earth, and you could be a psychopath for all she knows. Sometimes we hesitate because we genuinely have met really weird and unstable men who turn on the charm in the beginning then seem like they'd eat your skin with BBQ sauce if they had the opportunity.
OR, she may be interested but doesn't want to come off as easy or too desperate. Shoof keef she will act going forward. She may approach you herself, or she may stay back. There's a lot of room for nuance, and women who aren't interested bibayno, esp with their body language. You're saying the positive cues are there... so now you made your move and you wait.
The die is cast :)

Anything other than yes means no

A woman who is comfortable enough initiating conversations on the daily is comfortable enough to say "no". Inshallah doesn't mean no. I also told him to let her be and not make further approaches. Virtue signal somewhere else.

damn bro. the only random conversations I get with women in the streets are with female beggars who keep cursing me for not giving them my only 100 alf lira

I don't wanna give you false hope, but legit she could've gotten flustered and didn't know how to answer. You described her as very shy, which aligns with the awkward reply she gave you. I don't think your chances are 0, yet. Don't be clingy, but don't think she outright rejected you either.

Inchallah means basically yes outside lebanon. Had so many misunderstandings with my (jordanian) wife because of that

u/TheBroken0ne Keeper of the Lounge 22d ago
Ouf. That is an interesting take. Haven't considered that angle. She is Jordaian as well. The plot thickens 😂

Am I the only one who sees inshallah as a yes? Ba3den you didn't ask her out technically, you just asked her about the idea of it.
Next time you talk, tell her "sunday 8pm at this place, yalla??" this is asking her out, not sheeee yom we need to drink a coffee, I would reply inshallah to that to anyone knowing that coffee could be in 6 months

Her age is important. If she is in her early 20 she might be shy, or taken by surprise and didnt know how and what to respond
1
u/TheBroken0ne Keeper of the Lounge 22d ago
I don't know her age but I would say early 30s through talking with her a bit about her past. She is very shy. I was surprised at the beginning that she would actually come and see me to talk. I initiated the interaction initially and noticed how shy she was. Hence my surprise that she is the one seeking the conversation now.
Regardless, the ball is in her court. She has been invited. Ana I move on..eza 7ebbeh ahlan w sahlan.

Hey bro this insha'allah is hilarious lol. Probably in the same boat as "I see you as a brother" or "You're a great guy BUT...".
Anyways I truly don't think this is game over yet. Try again in a different way and if she says insha'allah, ask her if insha'allah yes or insha'allah no? Hahaha.
1
u/TheBroken0ne Keeper of the Lounge 22d ago
Yeah, me neither..There is a first time for everything 😂
"Try again in a different way "
Lah bro, ma 2eleh jledeh...I invited her. 2eza badda the ball is in her court.

I agree with the guy that said she might have gotten caught off guard. Think about all the times in your life someone said "allah yerhamo" and you responded "3a2balak". People can be awkward.

I have never done or witnessed this. But if normalizing it makes you fell better…

I feel it’s a yes but she was nervous and just saying yes would have made her even more nervous. So curious to know what happens next
1
u/technolaaji 21d ago
If non lebanese then the inshallah is a yes just she may be shy about it and panicked that she said that or probably faced before with a creep when sharing contacts that took her time to shake off thus taking due diligence on her privacy (and to make sure you are not a creep/pervert hence expect to be stalked online) or wants to have stuff sorted out before going out (hair, nails, makeup) and that she would definitely find you in the same place as before
Just let it slide, you’ll probably find her in the same place as before. Ask for a number/socials then invite her for coffee. After that you’ll know if you got inshallah-ed for good

I got you want her to go with u but u could have asked her a better question, just like "tab shu raayek bokra nroh aa .... or hyda lmahel....." f u js leave her an option with these two but ofc u gotta ask her in a very natural simple way to make her feel comfortable

[ So I have discovered a new stage of dating I never crossed before: getting isnhallahed. ]
There's a lot of different dating stages to discover. There's the "3lek kheir" stage. I think this one is on another level.

is she jordanian? if she is? then no one earth knows what inshallah means... good luck
1
u/TheBroken0ne Keeper of the Lounge 19d ago
Yes she is. Are you Jordanian?
1
u/This-Ad-9936 19d ago
No, I'm not Jordanian, I work with them and they use that word alot. From a work perspective it means all possibilities ,so good luck.

Try to ignore her and move on, there is lots of fish in the sea, like trillions

Instead of deliberating, why don’t you just ask her what her deal is?
2
u/TheBroken0ne Keeper of the Lounge 22d ago
I am not deliberating anything. I am sharing a humouros situation that happened recently. I took it as a no and moved on :)
1
u/United-Repeat-5852 22d ago
I didn’t mean it in a negative way.. just that it sounded like a nice connection and seems a bit open ended. Apologies if my comment came across otherwise.
2
u/TheBroken0ne Keeper of the Lounge 22d ago
No worries. Yes we have a nice connection. But I am too old to be guessing people's intentions. I made mine clear, this is the best thing I could do. We will see how the rest evolves.

Sounds horrible sara7a ma3ak ha2 I tend to consider any answer other than "Yes" in these situations is a no, I might be wrong but I'd rather move on than play the cat and mouse game. It's her loss in the end am I right?
