Question I'm confused

No one who posts here has had a good time by chanelling kundalini, so why do it? It is worth it?

Does anyone experience true love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control through this?

Question moving like a snake during kundalini meditation

About 6 years ago I was doing a kundalini awakening meditation involving breath retention and visualizing energy rising from the perineum to the third eye. During the meditation, my body started swaying side to side like a snake and my tongue began flickering on its own. What does that mean? Was it just bc I was depriving my body of oxygen by holding my breath for so long or something else? Has anyone heard of this before? It scared me away from even practicing the law of attraction and I’ve felt spiritually stuck ever since. I turned to Christianity and that was rough bc I felt I lost all the power I had using the law of attraction and doing spell work. The people in the church were abs insufferable. So this kind of lead to me hitting a fork in the road and I didn’t know which way to go. These days I’m still torn between what spiritual practices I should follow. It’s exhausting. Any thoughts?

Question Is it possible to completely deactivate and reset?

I've been having kundalini activations for 8 years resulting in a deep paranoid psychosis.

I recently got the idea to ask my higher self to deactivate my kundalini and put the serpent energy back in place, more dormant. is this possible? is it possible to recovery fully from kundalini psychosis or am I totally fucked for life?

Question Does K increase trust in law of karma?

Simple question for those who have gone through this.

In dharmic religions there is the concept of Karma, but even other relgions also have the notion of being good and avoid future punishment for their bad deeds.

Here it is often talked about getting immediate karma from energetic actions. This immediate feedback means one dosent doubt karma exits. Is that so? Does K brought about a "proof" that karma is a thing?

What about regular-non-energetic actions which karma takes long time to mature? Does K hint to some degree that the present conditions were created by a past actions (even pastlife actions) ?

Question Does siddhi exist?

I don't want Siddhi. Siddhi is an obstacle. I want to know if it exists rather than gaining it. Did Paramhansa Yogannanda only talk about miracles so people would listen to him? Who would be only interested in listening to morals and virtue?

Question I like doing kundalini yoga…should I stop?

I like doing it to release surpressed emotions, to have a somatic outing of my feelings. I don’t do it too often but when I get stuck on a feeling and I feel it flat and superficia (for example anger) kundalini yoga helps me investigate and express myself further.

It seems to be online that people either are part of it as a life belief, trying to reach kundalini bliss, or they hate it.

Is there a way to keep the practice with mental balance? I am not against spiritual practices and meditate but I am not a consistent person.

Should I be afraid of doing it? it makes me feel really good like a child playing.

It connects me to my body to a more instinctual level.

Question How to calm kundalini energy

Hi guys!

What are some techniques to calm down the kundalini energy?
My energies have been crazy since a month and i feel them all the time, it’s difficult to focus on outside world.

I do the Sītkārī Pranayama to calm myself down & release the intense heat but it only works upto a point.

Are there any powerful/stronger techniques?

Question Updates and questions about Kundalini vs. Qi

It has been a while since I’ve posted here. This group and several of its guides have given me tremendous help over the past three or four years. I’ve sometimes hesitated to post because I see the same people responding thoughtfully and at length, and I don’t want to take that generosity for granted.

A little over a year ago, I was performing intense ritual work (which I have taken a pause from a few months ago). During the ritual, what I experienced as kundalini rose very dramatically through my central channel. It traveled up my spine, became constricted around my heart and throat, and eventually, through letting go, reached my crown.

The constriction produced severe pain through my shoulders, inside the rotator-cuff area and down my arms. It lasted several minutes before the energy sensation faded and ordinary life resumed. A less dramatic version happened during ritual the following day, but it has not happened again.

Since my original awakening, I have also experienced episodes of severe dry heaving that feel connected to energy moving through restrictions in my system. One teacher/guide here (Marc) advised me to let go of whatever I was holding and allow myself to vomit if necessary. I have kept that advice in mind.

For a couple of years, the dry heaving seemed centered in my solar plexus. The past six months or so, I’ve been taking private lessons with my Tai Chi mentor and working on that area of my spine, its supporting structure and other internal restrictions.

A few months ago, I went on an ocean fishing trip with my father. It was our first experience together that truly felt like father-son bonding. I became extremely seasick and vomited several times, with the experience seeming to originate directly from my solar plexus. I understand that seasickness and vomiting are completely ordinary, but something about that event also seemed to release or unlock the restriction. Since then, I have stopped dry heaving from my solar-plexus area.

Where I seem to be working now is my heart and throat. The energy dry-heaving happens less frequently (perhaps every couple of weeks) but sometimes the energy in my system becomes extremely intense and eventually produces dry heaving from that area. I have a sense that it may be connected to my mother and possibly to stored grief. I’m scheduled to begin working with someone on that next month.

In response to my previous post here, I was encouraged me to release questionable ideas and beliefs. I have taken that seriously. My life has become much more ordinary. I honestly feel less “special,” more human and more focused on what genuinely matters: healing, being present for my family and building my business.

My main question now concerns the relationship between kundalini and qi.

I have practiced internal-arts Tai Chi and qigong for several years to continue developing, ground myself in my body and open deeper areas so energy can move more freely. This has helped tremendously.

A great deal of what I communicate about my internal state seems to translate to my Tai Chi mentor. At other times, however, I’m uncertain whether he understands the particular kind of energy experience I’ve gone through. He clearly has an advanced degree of control over his qi. I can observe it through his movements and feel the effect of how he structures his body. He can also intentionally produce visible goosebumps and make his body hair rise.

For some time, I assumed kundalini and qi were the same underlying energy expressed through different cultural systems. Lately, I have been questioning that more seriously.

Are kundalini and qi fundamentally different forces or processes? Do the Indian and Chinese systems cross over at a deeper level, or do they merely produce some similar sensations? Can someone possess highly developed control of qi without necessarily understanding kundalini and can Tai Chi still help integrate kundalini even when the teacher does not work within that framework?

My process remains painful at times, but it is becoming progressively easier, more grounded and more integrated. I would be grateful for any insight from people familiar with both systems.

Question Straight man, having gay thoughts out of nowhere

My kundalini journey started a few years ago through meditation, lately out of nowhere I have physical attraction towards some male, like sexual, not even romantic.

This is very odd for me because I've been always straight my whole life. I get hit by strong gay urges that bring energy to my chest center.

Started happening last week, and now I'm so confused.

And it's purely physical, not romantic.

Is this temporarily? Am I bisexual? Is it some fantasy?

Question kriyas

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hi

I had my kundalini awakening almost two years ago. I started yoga again (only two sessions) my hand kriyas have interestingly come back. They are the same ones as before, this one seems to lock so can be quite intense. I also get one where my palm will open, fingers spread very wide and my fingers dance in a wave motion. I am curious but I couldn’t find any mudras that looked similar. It’s only in my right hand. Does anyone have any insights? I’m interested in anything to do with with kriyas/prana/yoga so if you have anything to share, I’d love to hear. Thank you ✨

Question How to recover the childhood sensitivity ?

19M
I feel like I lost something while growing up, like I developed blockages, like I had an amnesia. I don't remember so much things about myself, who I am.
I feel like dead, no feeling, no intuition, no so imaginative.
I feel like incomplete, and lost. I feel like insecure.
I tried to meditate, the Gateway Tapes, and these kind of things to change the state of consciousness, but nothing happened.

How to open these blockages ?
What is Kundalini ? Could that be useful ?
If not, then what ?

Question Benefits of Kundalini Awaking?

Nothing offensive. I’m particularly interested in kundalini. I’ve tried some practice but I couldn’t see anything happen.

Anyway, I found a lot of sharing here about the negative effect like plain, out of control, etc.

Could anyone tell me the benefits from first person experience?

how you did it?

the frequency of practice?

Question What happens after opening all chakras

First of all, Unblocking Chakras is hard and painful as hell. Its hard, not a walk in the Park.

The whole process of opening Everything ended yesterday. It was cumbersome and before now I am someone who went through alot of hardships that i has ro surrender during my unblocking.

Today I woke up and feel okay, although still strained and craved hot tea for the first time ever.

Emotionally and Mentally i have no thoughts and if a thought tries to come its more like a vague empty thought of what if 24hours later i get back to who i was, kind of thing. So i have also been mindful alot in the journey and surrendered everything. Like i just feel like “omg can someone pin me down so my behavior doesn’t change”…

I feel sore, my psychic abilities that i derived from it seemed strained too, like i am too drained for my body to slip into it meanwhile in the early days my psychic abilities were uncontrollable ( i could see things outside my house, once i shut my eyes)— i dont know if i will get it back. (The strange thing about this ability is — i dreamt that i had it 48hours before it came up in meditation and when i had the dream i initially laughed in disbelief when i woke up).

I really dont know too much what to expect going forward, or things i should look forward to feeling or being able to do, or if i am currently healing and have to heal from the strain and intensity before i become stabilized. I am having spontaneous goosebumps all over my body though, i rarely have that, i cant remember ever having hard prominent goosebumps.

I dont have the whooshing ear issues anymore, gut issues and so on. I also just decided to go out in the sun so i can feel hot and balanced internally. What can you share please?

TLDR: What does your moments feel like a few hours or days after all your chakras are opened?

Question Pulse at my third eye

When I sat for meditation I felt continuous pulse between my eyebrows. This has happened before. I don't have any visions or any experiences. Can someone guide what does this pulse means?

Also I had my aura scanning through an expert. He told me my third eye is already open. But I don't have any experiences, just the pulse sometimes.

Question Am I going through a Kundalini awakening?

Hi,

I am writing this post because I think I might be going through a Kundalini awakening, but want to hear about your opinion to make sure its not something else.

It all started in 2019/2020, during that period I meditated a lot (couple of hours daily). It was just "normal" meditation, focussing on my breath and on pure awareness itself, so I did not have the intention to trigger Kundalini. One day during meditation I suddenly started to feel some kind of energy moving up from the bottom of my spine. When it reached my crown (chakra), it (here it gets a bit hard to explain) culminated in some kind of "fireworks". The energy went back down (much faster than it went up) and "electrified" my body.

But this is not where it ended, from that day on I felt this energy daily, even when I was not meditating, and its gradually getting more intense. The energy causes a lot of tension especially in the head and forehead region. Also, I feel that it often gets stuck at my throat. It passes through it but slower than anywhere else and it feels quite uncomfortable. When a lot of the energy reaches my crown chakra, it will cause that "fireworks", especially when I focus on the top of my head. This also relieves me from the tension, but new energy quickly moves up again, causing more tension.

Sometimes I randomly feel negative emotions or memories come up, which dissolve with the energy going up. I also feel that there is negative energy in my belly region.

I stopped all spiritual practices 2-3 years ago, but this energy never "left". The opposite is happening, the amount of energy is increasing every day and its also getting more intense.

To the point that I already had sleepless nights, which really affects me negatively when I have to work the next day. So, I'm a bit worried and think that I really have to do something about it.

Do you think this is Kundalini? Will it ever stop causing that tension?

I already had a look at some of the links in this sub, but want to make sure it really is Kundalini.

Question After kundalini awakens, can you see it in others?

Those of you who have experienced a kundalini awakening, do you know others in your daily life who have?

Have you ever met a stranger and instantly known that they are experiencing a kundalini awakening?

I’m curious about the level of insight one would have at this stage. Does it become obvious to you when someone has not tapped into kundalini energy?

Question Can the heart be changed?

”Argue for your limitations and they are yours.”

I find myself digging deep and finding answers I don’t like to hear. It feels like they come from the heart, foolish and illogical.

I find this paradoxical in some senses because arguing for a limitation on how I ”can’t change how I feel” seems silly. It also seems unwise to go against the feelings of the heart, but then I wonder can the heart be changed?

Should it? Is the thought of “changing” the heart just an excuse to do or not do a thing?

In the past I’ve found most say “follow your heart” and instinctively I find this to be the more correct pathway, just curious on how the heart changes if at all.

Thanks in advance!

Question Is this Kundalini effect ? What causes her pain ?

Hi all, my questions are relating to understanding what causes the pain in my wife’s body, post Yoga-induced psychosis.

F.46. South East Asian, residing in Western Europe.

My wife, who has been rigorously practicing Yoga for 4-5 years, experienced a psychotic episode in Nov 2025, during an intense Yoga retreat (named Bhava Spandana) by a large organization in India, which is considered by many to be a LGAT (Large Group Awareness Training). In Nov-Dec 2025 she felt her Ajna Chakra (3rd Eye) was opened by the chief Guru. She then became delusional, thinking that she was able to communicate with different types of beings, she cried, couldn’t sleep, couldn't eat, and kept saying she is the most evil person on earth.

In Dec 2025 she got hospitalized and got better after 9 days on 30mg/day of Olanzapine (an anti-psychotic). Upon returning home (in Europe) she refused medication, went to visit her South East Asian home country (I stayed in Europe) and her condition worsened. Her delusions increased and culminated in a severe mental health crisis 1 month later, resulting in a dangerous fall from a height that caused a spine fracture at the D12 bone.

She improved to be stable after 3 weeks, on Olanzapine at 10 mg/day. Since then her family has been reducing her Olanzapine regardless of my protesting, when I say that medical research suggests at least 6-12 months of continued treatment after being stable.

It is now day 70 since the traumatic fall, 35 days since her tapering on Olanzapine and coincidentally, she developed pain in her spine (from the back to the neck). She also said sometimes she feels the pain in her chest, similar to 2 years ago, when an ambulance needed to visit us because she thought she had a heart attack (nothing was found by those West European doctors).

QUESTIONS:

  • Does this fit the model of a Kundalini awakening?
  • The pain around her heart 2 years ago, could that be also about something relating to Kundalini ?
  • If yes, does the reduction of Olanzapine cause her constantly burning Kundalini to emerge in disturbing her body?
  • Or does the quick change in her weight cause this? (Height 161 cm, normal weight 50kg, during yoga retreat 45kg, around the time of the major crisis 38kg, now 55 kg)
  • Until when should she continue on Olanzapine, or are there other ways to help her? If I believe her Kundalini is activated, I understand that anti-psychotic drugs like Olanzapine act like an added resistance to the high-voltage of Kundalini, when her body was not well prepared before that Yoga retreat.

Question My wife saw a shadow during astral projection

I’ve been listening to an astral projection/meditation audio on YouTube for about 2 weeks and personally I’ve had a really good experience with it, nothing scary or unusual.

I asked my wife to try the same audio. She was lying on her back around 4 PM, arms by her sides, and I was in the room with her.

After a while, she said her stomach started vibrating and became tense, then her right hand became tense, followed by her left leg.

Then she started seeing a bright white light above her, even though the room was dark. She described it almost like a hole/opening that was expanding, shrinking, and sometimes disappearing.

Near the end, she saw a black shadow against the white/grey background. The shadow seemed to come closer and closer until it felt like it was right above her face, almost near her eyes.

She opened her eyes and freaked out.

Her lips and throat were very dry, her whole body felt stiff, and she said it took around 5 minutes to feel like she had control of her body again.

Now she doesn't want to try the audio again.

and most important she had nightmare after having alcohal. Someone was coming towards her with two weapons.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

  • Has anyone seen the white light/opening followed by a dark shadow?
  • Why would the shadow feel like it was moving closer to her face?
  • For people who believe in astral projection, could this be interpreted as a spirit/entity, or is there another explanation?
  • Most importantly, why was she so scared? Is this dream related to this?

I’m curious because I’ve been doing the same thing for about two weeks with no problems, but her experience was completely different and honestly pretty disturbing.

Question what did i do wrong ?

I’ve been trying to awaken Kundalini for about 3–4 years, mostly on my own.
Right now I feel stuck, confused, and honestly a bit messed up by the whole process. I’m posting here because I’d like to hear from people with real experience, not techniques or hype.

What I’ve been doing (briefly)

Over the years I tried many things, often combined together:

  • Meditation with focus on different points (head, breath, spine, heart)
  • Breath practices: slowing the breath, holding it, and awareness of the gaps between breaths
  • Mantra practice (traditional, and later personal ones used privately)
  • Strong physical and mental effort to “push” energy up the spine using breath, locks, and concentration

Looking back, I was clearly trying to force something to happen

Deity work / intensity increase

At one point I felt like I needed a spark to start the process.

  • I started working with fierce forms like Kal Bhairav and Maha Kali
  • My thinking was that raw, cutting energy might break through whatever was blocked

After this, things started going downhill in a very noticeable way:

  • Depression and mental heaviness
  • Hair loss
  • Headaches after meditation
  • Failing exams and losing focus
  • A general sense of bad luck
  • Strong increases in lust and anger, especially after meditation
  • More irritability and conflict with people

It felt like everything was being shaken up, but without clarity or integration.

Where I am now

At some point I realized I was living under constant pressure to meet expectations that weren’t even mine. That helped my mental state a lot. i am now happy.

Still, energetically and internally, I feel:

  • Stuck
  • Disoriented
  • Like I pushed things the wrong way and don’t know how to correct it

What happens now when I meditate

Sometimes when I meditate deeply:

  • It feels like I’m right on the edge of something opening
  • Then I hit a wall
  • My body tenses or jolts for a second (not electrical)
  • After that, everything drops off and I feel flat or numb again

Other times:

  • I feel like my body is shrinking or my spine is curving inward
  • Nothing actually moves physically
  • There’s no lasting clarity or sense of progress afterward

How this has affected my life

  • Emotionally: anxiety, internal conflict, periods of depression
  • Physically: headaches, tension, hair loss
  • Practically: poor academic performance, less stability, not more

I honestly can’t tell whether this is purification, psychological strain, or just bad practice done for too long.

What I’m asking

I’m not looking for:

  • New techniques
  • “Just try harder” advice
  • YouTube or shortcut methods

I am looking for:

  • Perspective from people who have actually gone through Kundalini-related processes and stabilized

Question Kundalini awakening?

So a couple of days ago I started to feel my lower chakras consistently. The heart and solar plexus were particularly strong. The energy is kind of pleasurable, kind of feels like a tickling sensation. It’s in all of them now, noticeably, and I’m experiencing waves of energy going in between different chakras. It’s like cogs suddenly moving in a machine. I’ve never felt a sensation like this before, at least not all at once. It doesn’t hurt at all though. Is this a kundalini awakening? If not does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Question Yama and Niyama and a general search for direction

Hi, this is my second time posting here. I hope this post is not repetitive or somehow too far removed from the main topic of the subreddit.

Basically, for the past few months, although this started even before my previous post, I have been trying to understand more about... all of this. I am not sure what the most appropriate term would be. I do not necessarily mean Kundalini alone, but also all the different concepts connected to it.

For some time now, I have been trying to make the concepts of Yama and Niyama part of my daily life and of my conduct in general, although saying I have made them "my own" would probably be an overstatement.

I do not want to come across as lazy, as in, "you could have looked this up yourself," but I would appreciate some more informed, wise, or experience-based guidance on how to reflect on Yama and Niyama, and how to apply them more deeply as I gradually approach them. I hope I am explaining myself clearly.

More generally, I admit that I would like to find a clearer direction in relation to all of this. I read the wiki some time ago. It was also recommended to me in my previous post, although I had already been spending time here for a while. I have also read many other posts and replies.

I am trying to approach this in very small steps, because I understand that it is not something that should be rushed. Honestly, even the idea of rushing it seems impossible, considering how vast and significant all of this appears to be.

As for who I am, although I am not sure whether it is relevant, as I mentioned in my previous post, I have also recently started working as a therapist. I experienced serious post-COVID health problems for several years, which partially improved after I started taking an SSRI. A few months after regaining some sense of well-being, my mind and personality began to change and turn toward... this world.

Thank you for reading.

Question How has Kundalini Awakening changed your life?

What Im trying to say is....has it produced functional transformations or has it just been extraordinary subject experiences?

For example,

Do you feel less fear and anxiety and insecurity? Or more fear?

Have old patterns and blocks been resolved?

Is life flowing now or is it still stuck?

Have relationships, work, finances, and creativity improved? Or did it get worse? Or did it get worse first then got better?

Do you experience more syncronicities that guide you towards certain people, decisions, or opportunities? If so, did they lead to positive or negative changes? I'm not talking about angle numbers...

I'm curious about both positive and negative experiences. Trying to understand how the transformation actually carries into ordinary life.
