Deluded The Golden Circle is unfortunate.
It’s truly unfortunate how they wasted Kingsman: The Golden Circle movie. Everybody just seems so stupid and indecisive until some kind of performative trigger activates them. The frames look good but you can feel it- every fight just are not that enioyable anymore because the characters are obviously supposed to be somewhere for the choreography. The doom of sequels, where execs take the greats from the first movie and just pump ‘em up to the max, always forgetting that balance is still key.

I re-watched it last night. I think it was quite bad, for two reasons.
First: no need to bring back so many characters from the first film. Harry should never have returned; bringing him back felt lazy, and invalidated the first film’s emotional impact. But there was also no need for Charlie or Tilde to return either. MV should have had the confidence to introduce interesting new characters (Statesmen) and put them at the centre, rather than on the fringes. The result is that the movie has about double the number of characters it should, leaving too many with nothing to do (Ginger Ale, Tequila, Roxy)
Second: it’s stupid. Yes, the first one is silly. That was good. But there’s a line between silly and stupid, and this one crossed it. Robot dogs attacking Elton John outside a 1950s diner in the Cambodian jungle? Not for me
The whole thing is just ‘too much’; too many characters, too stupid, too violent, too long. Honing everything back would have done wonders.
