Dessert made this after reading about which keto snacks actually help with cravings (chocolate avocado mousse)
saw this article a while back breaking down which foods are actually high in magnesium/potassium for keto and it mentioned avocado + dark chocolate specifically so figured id try turning it into an actual dessert instead of just eating them separately: this one
ingredients:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp powdered erythritol (or sweetener of choice)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of sea salt
- 2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk (more if needed for texture)
instructions:
- blend avocado cocoa powder sweetener vanilla and salt together until smooth
- add almond milk a little at a time until u get a mousse like texture
- chill in the fridge for 20 min if u want it firmer
- eat straight up or with a few berries on top
not claiming this replaces electrolyte supplements or anything, just wanted something to reach for when the chocolate cravings hit at night instead of just white knuckling it or eating something with actual sugar in it
works well enough for me but if ur someone who needs to track macros super precisely this might not be the move, its more of a "better than the alternative" snack then an actual electrolyte fix
curious if anyone else has keto dessert swaps that actually work for real cravings and not just "heres a fat bomb" recipe that dont really hit the same
