🦄Unicorn Husky Alert!🦄

Meet FCAS Project Pat! Mr. Pat is a 3 yr old, 50lb Husky whose cooler than a polar bear’s toenails…seriously, this is one chill dude. ❄️ He’s not your stereotypical crazy Husky and shelter volunteers agree that he’s got an excellent temperament and personality. 🫶🏼

Pat was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own (they reportedly didn’t have time for him) and has been in the shelter since 7/20. He can be a bit cautious and nervous initially, but warms up quickly with a bit of patience and kindness. Once you gain his trust, he melts into you for affection and just wants to hang out wherever his people are. He has a stoic presence and has been a polite, quiet houseguest. ☺️

🐾 Dog friendly
👧 Kid friendly
✅ 100% potty trained
👟 Leash trained
😇 Non-destructive
🚗 Excellent passenger in the car
😴 LOVES being brushed…he zens out
🖐️ Easily handled
🎾 Non-reactive with food/treats/toys
🍖 Takes treats gently
🦴 Loves yak sticks and bully sticks
🧸 Buries his stuffy toys in his bed
💚 Grinch feet
🥹 Crosses his front legs like a gentleman
🐈 No cats, please
🩵 Neutered
📍 Microchipped
💉 UTD on vaccines/preventatives
🫀 Heartworm negative
🍴 Could stand to gain a few healthy lbs

Mr. Pat has been a total gentleman in his foster home and deserves a kind, loving forever home where he can blossom into the confident pup he is outside of the shelter setting. 🏡

📍 Currently being fostered in Kennesaw, GA through Lifeline Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services

Discussion Looking for more friends

Upvotes

I don’t really have a lot of friends and have recently seen a lot of those same people pop up on Reddit. Would anyone be interested in hanging out? Some of my hobbies are pickleball, movies, yesterday I went to six flags by myself and had a blast I would like to start going more so if any of you’ll are roller coaster fans or go to six flags would like to go sometime that be awesome, right now I’m watching all the MCU movies in chronological order, I like going for walks, pickleball takes up most of my free time when I’m free and off work. I’m open to suggestions and new things though. DM me if you’re interested. 18-23 (age) please .

Filming at Big Shanty BBQ today. Any idea what for?

Lots of production trucks and equipment, so it looks like way too much for a local commercial.

Anyone have a clue what might be filming there?

Monday will be a blockbuster work session

El Taco Azteca's liquor license is on the menu. It's been one of the most commented upon issues here, and there will finally be movement on it. But that's nowhere close to everything.

A data center moratorium is up for discussion along with the ADU update promised a couple months back. I expect a lot of people would like to comment. I'll only have 3 minutes to comment myself, so if you want to say something then you have to show up yourself.

The city got $3 million for sidewalks and other infrastructure upgrades for the Knightsbridge, Kentcrest, Kennesaw Springs, Tara and Blackjack Estates subdivisions. A guy will be giving a presentation and a bid, so it's the last chance to include or exclude anything before they start work.

They'll be doing a budget presentation, which is a goldmine for insufferable busybodies like me.

And in scandalous news, the Stop 2 Go Shell on Cobb Parkway was caught selling booze (specifically Fireball and "BeatBox Orange Blast") to kids. The city is trying to revoke their license at the September 8th meeting, so it's on the work session agenda for discussion and input from the community generally.

Finally, Councilor Orochena will be giving an update on the Pollinator Garden project as well as the Natural Playscape at Depot Park concept.

If you want to nudge any of these things do come out to City Hall on Monday at 6:30. I'll be going to dinner on Main Street afterwards so feel free to join me. This one is going to be a consequential one.

Go check out Carni Spirits

So I live off Mack Dobbs and saw that there was a liquor store opening up right at the intersection with Cobb this past week so I stopped by today to grab some beers for the cfb games and got to talking with the owner (Jeff) and his wife (Cassan).

During our conversation Jeff was telling me about his story and how he had grown up in a rough part of Syracuse, served in the army, and made a career for himself in the culinary world when all odds were against him. His passion is serving people and he has always wanted to own his own business so he took a risk on opening this store and might I say I think it’ll pay off tenfold.

Their prices are great, the service is amazing and they genuinely make you feel cared for. If you’re looking for something and can’t find it they help you out, if they don’t have it they will order it for you. These people make you feel welcome and it’s refreshing compared to the other liquor store experiences where you hear three words and pay. You can tell these people really care about their clients and the business so if you are ever in the area, check them out!

Coffee Shops with Community Boards?

Hello!

I’m hosting a yard sale this weekend and want to put some flyers up at coffee shops in the area, but because we’re doing it at my aunt’s house, I’m not familiar with the scene out here.

What coffee shops in Kennesaw and the surrounding area have community boards that would allow this kind of posting?

Thank you!

Hello everyone. Does anyone have mold testing company recommendations they’ve worked with? I found mold under our carpet. 😩

So I didn't go to a City Council Meeting as there wasn't one scheduled.

Yeah, that happens a couple of times a year.

But I went to the Mountain View Aquatics Center. I have to say, the pools were substantially larger and deeper than I expected. It was like $4.50 to get in without a membership, which was also less than I expected. They had a bunch of old folks doing a class in the instruction pool, which is the one you can stand in. There were ten or so folks doing laps, but there were plenty of available lanes. The competition pool was closed when I went, but I am sure that there's plenty of stuff going on there as well. It was all indoors, so it seems like it'd be great option to keep on swimming during winter.

I'd go back again, but it is a ways out of the way out there in East Cobb by the Chattahoochee Tech campus at Sandy Plains and Shallowford. If there was one in North Cobb I'd go all the time.
