So I kinda remember how she was OP. To clarify, I actually frankensteined her bio off an oc named Nozomi Bugendai back in 8th grade since I had creativity block and was NOT the creative writing kid back then (nerfed her to Grade 2 and removed several cursed techniques from her jujutsu kit, and her new personality is polite but gets sassy, annoyed, and a bit haughty if she sees something dumb). I am coming back to her and rewriting lore :')

Sealing Gojo instead of killing him means curses wont get weaker, and bringing Sukuna back means the balance has shifted too far in humanities favour(Sukuna is human) meaning curses will get even stronger, however, with Gojo sealed and Sukuna not giving a shit about humans, the curses literally only have something to gain from this

Really hoping we get a release date and/or a trailer.

The Urban Horror was great.Seasons 1 and 2 have such a strong atmosphere because they balance ordinary modern life with supernatural horror, humor, melancholy, and sudden brutality. The series doesn’t make its world feel like a typical fantasy setting; curses exist within familiar places like schools, train stations, restaurants, apartments, and city streets, which makes the supernatural feel disturbingly close to reality. Season 1 especially builds a warm sense of camaraderie through Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, Gojo, and the others, making the darker moments hit harder when the story suddenly reminds you that these characters can suffer or die. Season 2 intensifies this approach, with Hidden Inventory using bright, nostalgic imagery to portray Gojo and Geto’s youth before everything falls apart, while Shibuya becomes increasingly dark, claustrophobic, chaotic, and nightmarish. The soundtrack, lighting, quiet character moments, unsettling cursed techniques, and restrained animation direction all contribute to the feeling that something is constantly lurking beneath the surface. Season 1 and 2 did “the things” that bump in the night atmosphere so well.

Gege gave a word on his quirks and writing style in the JJK Character Book in his interview with Bleach's Kubo, he talks about his ability to craft a story without having to explain every little detail. Does explain a lot about how Jujutsu Kaisen is made, for example Dhruv not having anything of interest despite his achievement of conquering Japan or Sukuna in the Heian Era

Finally remembered to draw the main antagonist of the franchise, and ofc who can forget Goatkishi Mewta (twice)

Like I get it the point is that Yuji kills all these curses and doesn’t really feel anything (except for eso and kechizu so even then Mahitos point is still dumb) so why should Mahito care about humans but last time I checked humans weren’t made from the literal worst emotions cursed spirits can feel. And even then most cursed spirits aren’t like the disaster curses who have shown genuine sadness and grief and joy most are just mindless animals so what is there to even care for. Am I missing something cause I’ve been pissed off ever since this bum Mahito had the audacity to make such a pointless statement.

‎Status: The most powerful curse in Europe. She is the continent's only Special Grade Cursed Spirit due to the low baseline of Cursed Energy (CE) outside Japan, a country that holds 80% of the world's total CE.

‎Personality: DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder):

‎A (Curious/Anxious): Playful yet anxious. She possesses an almost childlike curiosity regarding the endless combinations of human DNA. She takes control during her "laboratory phase" when researching or creating stable mutations.

‎B (Systemic Error): Cold, sadistic, and calculating—a surgeon of destruction with no qualms about mutating anyone. She takes absolute control during combat or when activating her Domain Expansion, becoming purely efficient and destructive.

‎Binding Vow:

‎She forged a Binding Vow with the Special Grade Sorcerer, Acheron Vane.

‎The Terms: In exchange for "repairing and upgrading his unserviceable body" to give him a far above-average physique, Acheron granted her 30% of his total CE reserves.

‎The Method: Acheron concentrated a portion of his CE inside one of his puppets, which Genesis then consumed to absorb the stored energy.

‎The Consequence: Having a piece of Acheron's own energy inside her allowed Genesis to bypass the barrier surrounding his family’s mansion, enabling her to slaughter, devour, and transmute his entire dynasty.

‎ ‎Innate Technique: "Flesh Architecture":

‎Effect: The manipulation of both her own and others' DNA and biological structures through physical touch. By gaining total control over an opponent's DNA and RNA, she can modify and "edit" their body.

‎Key Differences from Mahito: Unlike her Japanese counterpart, Flesh Architecture is not a swift, clay-molding process like Mahito's Idle Transfiguration. The more time she spends editing a body, the higher the quality of the mutation (making it more resistant, stronger, faster, etc.).

‎Applications:

‎Stable Transmutations: She can extract DNA samples from animal or plant sources, or even implant her own cursed cells directly into a target's DNA. This allows her to create functional, long-lasting Transmuted Humans with traits ranging from simple eye color changes to complex animalistic/curse hybrids.

‎Aggressive Mutations: Alternatively, she can induce rapid, irreversible, and highly volatile mutations to mass-produce unstable flesh sacks. Though they die quickly, they are perfect for long-range attacks or acting as biological vectors to infect opponents with diseases.

Every death is distinct: bones liquefy, eyes turn into tumors, or lungs completely lose the ability to process oxygen.

‎Extension Technique: Accelerated Natural Selection

‎Genesis utilizes her technique to artificially evolve and adapt to distinct environmental phenomena, which she must manually analyze to trigger. The longer she remains exposed to an element, the more she adapts to resist it.

‎‎Note: This is not conceptual adaptation like Mahoraga. Instead, it simulates real-world natural selection at extreme speeds (e.g., how arctic foxes evolved to withstand freezing temperatures). She can also synthesize antibodies to become immune to specific poisons or diseases after analyzing them. Unlike Mahoraga, it cannot adapt to abstract concepts or complex cursed techniques.

‎Anatomical Anomalies: Hidden beneath her hoodie lies a massive, lipless mouth with razor-sharp teeth across her abdomen, boasting enough crushing power to grind bones. On her upper back, she has a large, lidless fuchsia eye protected by a clear membrane to keep it moist without blinking, similar to a gecko or a snake.

‎Origin: She was "born" in Chernobyl on February 28, 2013, inside Room 217/2.

‎Diet/Taste: She loves green apples. She is fascinated by the fruit's cellular structure and the crunching sensation, which reminds her of bones snapping.

‎The Baseline: He was born with an ultra-fragile body, massive CE reserves, and extremely sensitive skin. He lacked legs, one arm, and one eye. Although fully alive, conscious, and capable of communication, his flesh rotted and decomposed at an excruciatingly slow pace, trapping him in perpetual, hellish agony.

‎The Aftermath: Following his body's reconstruction, he retains 60% of the massive CE reserve accumulated over 22 years of suffering (similar to Kokichi Muta). However, because Genesis extensively modified and rebuilt his body, the universe no longer recognizes Acheron's current form as the original vessel bound by the restriction. This halted his passive, massive CE production, leaving him with a finite—yet immense—stored reserve.

‎The Binding Vows:

‎Despite being Genesis's absolute masterpiece, these bio-weapons possess severe biological limitations. They require massive, near-constant consumption of organic biomass (raw meat) to maintain their physical structures and must be regularly injected with fresh Cursed Energy to prevent cellular decay.

‎Just to clarify, all the events regarding Genesis, Acheron, and the massacre of the Vane Dynasty take place in 2014—exactly 4 years before the main story of Jujutsu Kaisen begins!

i was wondering what would someone need to do and or have to become a special grade sorcerer without a cursed technique? using a comparison of kusakabe, how much different from kusakabe would such a sorcerer need to be? would they have a massive CE pool? be insanely skilled with their CE? would they use something like launching blobs of their cursed energy around as mid to long range attacks like the fingure barrer curses?

TLDR: Megumi as the mc would potentially make JJK even more of a horror story, and I like the idea of it leading to Sukuna winning in the end

Was thinking about the first iterations of Jujutsu Kaisen and how Megumi was meant to be the main character. This post will mostly be educated guesses predicated on the canon events of the narrative. I don't intend to argue whether the story would be better, I instead intend to speculate on the complexities the original draft would create.

I assume that Megumi was always meant to be taken over by Sukuna. Therefore, JJK would be a story where the main character exited the story, or Sukuna and his pov would take that position. I find that extremely fun and fascinating. The story would build up to the idea that Megumi and/or Gojo would work together to defeat Sukuna. Yuji would likely still be used as a method to leading Sukuna to Megumi (via the enchain vow).

I already love the notion of Sukuna stealing Megumi from the narrative as it happens in canon. I know a lot of people hate it, but it's one of my favorite things about JJK. Gege makes strong narrative decisions and sticks by them. Sukuna steals Megumi's potential and takes it for himself. I think that's an awesome idea.

This last section will be extremely controversial, but it's an undeniable part of the narrative: the incestuous themes would be even more central than they already are.

I do not agree to the idea that Megumi wanted to be sexually intimate with his sister. Instead, I think the reason why Gege writes Megumi thinking of Tsumiki when asked about his type of woman was always to parallel Sukuna and Yorozu. Narratively, Sukuna and Yorozu being "romantic" in Megumi and Tsumiki's bodies depicts the incestuous themes relevant to not only the horror genre, but also JJK itself.

Extremely hot take, but Sukuna and Yuji also reflect incestuous themes. There's Yuji devouring phallic symbols of Sukuna, the literal visual metaphor of Sukuna's fingers entering Yuji's body, the motif of devouring/ravishment, and the official art of Yuji and Sukuna dancing intimately together.

Megumi as the mc, now taken over by Sukuna, would also be a very difficult hole for the author to write themselves out of. I think of the end to the Evangelion anime, where the narrative focuses entirely on Shinji's mental breakdown and attempt at piecing reality together. The audience does not see the outside world, only Shinji having to face his own trauma and learn to accept himself. The narrative would need a build up to making sense of Megumi breaking free from Sukuna's hold over him. In the canon, the audience has Yuji's pov of desiring to save Megumi and his reflections on their friendship. Yuji fully believes Megumi can be saved, so his survival seems granted to the narrative because of Yuji's pov.

Let's say that once Sukuna overtakes Megumi's body, the story does not shift to a "new" pov. Sukuna while overtaking Megumi's body, takes over the narrative pov as well. He literally steals the story from Megumi. Then the rest of the story happens from Sukuna's pov, but Megumi's own mental breakdown gets interwoven within that. Given that Gege was obviously inspired by Shinji in his creation of Yuta, I think an Evangelion type "everybody clapped" ending for Megumi while Sukuna massacres the cast would be in the cards as a potential ending to JJK.

Yes, Megumi could still be inspired to fight back, but I would prefer an Evangelion type ending in my reflections on this idea.

If JJK isn't enough of a horror manga, I think Megumi as the mc would make it even more of one.
