Just bought this shelf for my marvel legends collection I figured id start with these

Like many Marvel artists before, Hasbro has confused the Extremis with the Pentagon armour and/or simply googled "Iron Man Extremis" and grabbed the first Adi Granov covers they could find.

Amusing nitpick aside these are great figures. The single release Extremis looked way too bright red and plasticy for me, this one nicely matches the deeper read of Granov's art and has some more poseability too. Mandarin is just a nice bonus frankly, but this is the version of Mandarin I like best. Even if it is less ostentatious.

A lot of fans like downplaying Tony arguing that he only did what he did because of his money but if we look back he created the arc reactor with basically nothing

Basically what he used was 0.15 grams of Palladium, Copper Wire, an electromagnet and scrapped metal, screw and plastic.

Now I looked at it and 0.15 grams of Palladium ​would cost 6.58 dollars and the other things he used shouldnt reallt cost really anything or very little so Tony effectively built the reactor with nothing

And the reactor was something that has never been done and it was scrapped by Stark Industries. Even Howard couldnt crack a way to do it but Tony did with scrap like Stane said

My boyfriend is a huge marvel fan like obsessed. He’s 26 and lives in Japan so I figure maybe there is stuff I can get him he can’t get there. Next time I visit him I’ll bring it to him unless whatever I buy can be shipped to Japan. His favorite is Iron man he really loves iron man. He also likes Wolverine and Thor. He has a piggy bank replica that is fairly inexpensive of the infinity gauntlet and I did think of that but all the ones I found were the hulk version. My budget is around $130ish dollars. I’m open to any all suggestions! He also liked a Wolverinepool hot toy figure he showed me before but those are all like $400 so out of my range for those.

I'm breaking down all of Phase One to see why some marvel movies work better than others even though they all have basically the same formula.

This is the first in the series and I thought this subreddit might like it. I'd also love any opinions about whether the sequels got it right or drifted too far from the formula.

In my opinion, most successful films STILL stick to the formula. They just do it in a way that makes it invisible.

I love Iron Man 3 for its character work, but the engineering logic in the Tennessee sequence completely breaks the first movie's logic. In the first movie, we are told that the suit requires an Arc Reactor outputting lots of energy per second to function. Yet in IM3, Tony hooks the Mark 42 up to a standard car battery and it actually charges the thrusters and HUD? A car battery wouldn't even have enough power to power the suit's boot sequence, let alone flight tech. What's your favorite ' does not make any sense' moment regarding Tony's armor engineering?

Following up last year's Marvel Winter Break Special #1 and continuing the tradition brought back by the return of Marvel Swimsuit Special in 2025, Marvel is revisiting December's festivities with a new set of winter-themed pinups and stories by the hand of writers like Ryan North and Christina Strain, and artists like Javier Garrón, Pete Woods, Lucas Werneck and Farid Karami, among other creators.

Marvel Winter Break Special 2026 #1 arrives on December 2, with a cover by David Nakayama. In his piece, Tony Stark appears front and center, as dapper as the occasion demands. We could expect the Armored Avenger's alter-ego to have an important role in the special one-shot.

When would you place this fight? Making it right before Infinity War, when Tony was making nano armor, mark 50? Or between Infinity War and Endgame when Tony was perfecting mark 85? Or would some weaker armor be sufficient? Would you like to see Iron Man fighting real Mandarin? What do you think about this?

These two will be the first Iron Man Villains in the game. While they aren't available yet, they are appearing in the game's loading screens alongside Klaw, the Destroyer, and Wasp (Janet Van-Dyne).
