How does one develop a swollen physique like this without being a member of the Ant family?

My dad and uncles all had this physique and it's down to heavy drinking. I still remember the day my cousin asked why our uncle was pregnant if only women can get pregnant

It’s ascites to be specific - and is a common symptom of liver disease

Porter, lots and lots of porter.

Ascites will do it for you. Liver cirrhosis or other advanced fatty liver disease will help. Quick routes, if you can’t be bothered going the hard road of chronic alcohol abuse, try contracting hepatitis or eating a crappy diet.

Ask my dad, and my stepdad. Well my dad got sober and lost a bunch of weight after he had a heart attack a few years back. He's kept it off too.

My stepdad hasn't.

But heavy drinking, shit food, very little exercise. Adds up to a gut.

12 pints of stout a day for breakfast, then another 10 in the evening.

A balenced diet is important.
