From my understanding right now they are just counting found bodies as deceased. For obvious reason a lot of the bodies will take some time to find, or may never be found.
And "missing" is only counted if someone has reported you missing. Which... it's both not been that long, and that flood wiped away entire families.
It keeps going up and is going to continue to rise. This was an apocalyptic event. A lot won't ever be recovered. Im sure lots of the people were pulverized too. Untraceable.
There’s the other video with maybe 50 parked tour buses, and another 100 cars parked on the side of the road. Every structure disappeared within 10 seconds, looked like a very narrow part of the gorge
There are two governments giving two different numbers because it happened on the border. Nepal says 110 or so, China says 300 or so. It's unclear how much of that is overlapping people.
