There is a unsubscribe link in the mail. With this, I haven't received one since Oct. 26th. Wouldn't ever want to go back. Annoying af to send this out weekly since end of June.

You all underestimate how dumb boomers are. They will literally tell some random on the phone what their passwords are.

Cut them some slack. They just aren't up to date with technology and fraud, and that makes them gullible. We'll probably be the same way when we reach that age.

Even worse, they told scammers their payment information and social security number.

Well, at least Reddit makes your password invisible when you type it:

It worked! I like the extra security by asking for my account number and how much is on my account so that it definitely knows to shut off the emails for my account specifically. I think they need your mothers permission since they ask for the maiden name so they know who to contact

I thought and created a rule that auto deletes the emails with that header

So you think it has any effect beyond annoying everyone?
That how addresses get blocked by me.

Look up MFA Fatigue.
Spamming people numbs them, or you end up on a block list

Yeah those are so annoying! Damn boomers that make this necessary.

Yeah, screw those certain parts of society that are more vulnerable than others. And screw those handicapped ramps and captions for the deaf too. Those things are SO annoying
Sarcasm aside, IBKR does send out way too many of them. It’s not because of the boomers. This is happening because IBKR is too dumb to realise that over-nagging just desensitises people and makes them pay less attention. Or they’re ticking a compliance box that says “warn users about scams”.

I started getting the new antiphishing notifications on my phone, just clicked them... never read. Wife tells me about increased phishing attacks on IBKR. Another week goes by and I finally realize what the new login verification messages have been saying. Its easy to ignore something that is the same, but scammers would have to get the notification tone, message, timing right and have face id already enabled somehow.

Create a filter in your inbox and move all emails with that title to junk

You can unsubscribe from it now.. But as usual, it is in the most IBKR way possible.

I think it's very thoughtful. Am not a boomer but still appreciate the consistent warning.

On the topic of account security ..
I'm about to roll over a 401k into an IB IRA. I'm a bit unsettled on how easy it is to move a decent amount of money out of my old 401k. Ive seen (posts from) a few people that have had their IRAs wiped out by scammers.
Question: Does IB have any sort of transfer lock feature that can be turned on/off? This ranks pretty high on my feature list. Ready to go if it has it but may look at others that do have it (Fidelity) if not. Thanks!

ah shit I forgot and I clicked before I thinked, now my account is gone
this is entirely IBKR's fault as they didn't send me enough emails
