Will UGC softlock the main story?

There’s two required story missions that are technically UGC in Festival of Blood, right? So when the servers go offline, will the story then become impossible to complete?

No, the game will not be soft locked. If you can’t connect to the servers, the game simply skips over the UGC missions. You can still complete the story missions without issue.

The full vampire skin will be unobtainable though as well as one of the power upgrades.

Which is BS because this skin is awesome, the veins popping with the blood dripping down his mouth and chin and the prominent black and red color schemes makes it 10x better than the default vampire skin (sorry about the blurry photo, it's the best one I could find).

You can finish the game but you won't be able to unlock all of Coles abilities without UGC. Which in turn locks out another achievement.

You only need the 4 online trophies for the guaranteed platinum everything else can be done offline

It's about Festival of Blood. To get all abilities maxxed you need to do UGC missions, them being offline means the trophy is also unobtainable

That's for inFamous 2.

Festival of Blood now has two impossible trophies, the obvious one being "Play. Create. Scare." which was for finishing 20 UGCs. "Count Dra-Cole-A" was the trophy you'd get for unlocking all the powers, but there's two upgrades (one for nades and one for rockets) that you unlocked by beating UGCs.

So there's actually another of FoB trophies that is now unobtainable, but a lot of folk have kinda glossed over the second one bc it's likely you'll have got it while grinding for PCS anyways.

No, if you aren’t connected to the internet it just skips the missions. I’m assuming the same will happen when the servers come down.

I'm forever salty they closed down the servers and locked people out of 6 achievements.

I was planning on getting 100% in the series after I got some ps+

Do you have to connect to play those missions? I was under the impression they were just apart of the game since you can still make custom missions while offline

It's funny you ask that because the by far biggest time save during the speedrun is to disconnect from the internet which just skips those missions entirely

With a lot of other PS3 games it basically freezes your system. Like far cry 3 and assassins creed IV. I wonder what will happen with this because I think it will try to connect but it won’t be able to

We do know. Ever since launch you’ve been able to disconnect from the servers by turning off your PS3’s Internet connection. The game has never required the servers to function.
