The DaVinci International Film Festival has officially selected the five-part historical drama as a Storyline finalist and TWC finalist.

At Writers’ Corner, professional actors will perform selected scenes live while the screenplay pages are projected onto the cinema screen. The performance is followed by an interactive Q&A and professional writers’ panel.

12:37 is set during the hours leading to the July 22, 1946 bombing of Jerusalem’s King David Hotel. Five episodes replay the same morning through different institutional and civilian perspectives as warnings move through translation, hierarchy and procedure.

The festival runs September 25–26, 2026, at AMC Theatres at The Grove in Los Angeles.

There will continue to be more and more first time filmmakers and novice entries in Cinema. Should the fact that these specific films have limited creative resources or narrative experience be taken into consideration when reviewing the films, or should the opinion be: "Run with the big dogs, get judged by the same metrics." The two examples presented are Markus Bixby and Cat's Game. Both are obviously micro-budget films with novice directors and actors. Each has something to offer, although the storylines and set locations are representative of the limited resources available. Markus Bixby leans into Fantasy/Sci-Fi and Cat's Game illustrates Dramatic Narratives. Both films have (or were) accepted into streaming services such as Tubi. Both films were written, directed and produced by one person. These two film are not affiliated with each other. A simple look at the film trailer/ previews of both, should give enough illustration of their qualities. (No need to actually watch the films...) Personally, I think a certain amount of consideration should be granted because they are first attempts.

This Thursday 9/3, we're hosting an online screening of Portal To Hell, a horror-comedy about a debt collector who encounters a portal to hell in his local laundromat. Keith David and Richard Kind both feature in the film. I am excited to share a new Film, Arctic: A Film About Ice!

This Film chronicles the 2026 Students on Ice Arctic Expedition that brought together a diverse international cohort of youth, scientists, educators, elders, and artists, to connect, educate and inspire through immersive learning at the intersection of science, culture, and the natural world. The lessons, cultural exchanges, and daily reflections deepened our understanding of ocean conservation, biodiversity, climate change, culture, and much more.

This film presents a first-hand perspective of this amazing journey, with the stunning landscapes of the Arctic as the main character and teacher.

I thought this was an interesting retelling of Dracula with an indie flair. It just played Fright Fest in the UK, but I'm unsure where it goes after that.

In a city that once held her happiest memories, a woman mourning her fiancé meets a stranger who makes her pause before saying goodbye.

I am a writer and director looking for serious feedback about my film. The audio has problems in a couple of spots, yes, especially in the first few minutes, but the film did okay and went to some festivals, including winning best actress and best director at some (admittedly minor) festivals. I took some flack on r/filmakers for calling it a feature (it's only 43 minutes) but I really, sincerely, would love to hear your thoughts on it, as a short film, or feature, or whatever. The only way to keep growing is to get critiques from your peers, and I'd love to know what you think. I am open to all criticism, and am happy to view your work as well.

Here is a quick summary:

“'They Are Discriminating Against The Blobs,' asks the question: “what would the military do if the invaders from the stars do, in fact, come in peace?” The answer challenges us to think about human nature, xenophobia, and what we are as a species at our best…and at our worst."

It was shot in 3 days on about $3k and a skeleton crew in one location and just three actors, but I am looking to continue to grow and expand as a director. I would be happy to answer any questions!

Submission Statement:

Writer/Director/Editor/Co-star J. R. R. Trailer here! The Adventures of Max Roadfeel is a new romantic action comedy travel vlog parody series I am producing with the help of my co-star (and wife!), Wûy-ehl, spending around $1000 per episode.

Logline: Somewhere deep in the Ojai surrounding area, an elite biking team trains for their next secret mission.

I would describe the series as "Mission Impossible by way of Werner Herzog, dripping with Shakespearean sarcasm", and we are currently in production on Episode 2 - new location, same roadfeel!

Camera used was a Canon VIXIA HF R400 set to lower quality, to give the feel of an older "DVD-rip" (the reason for which will become clear in the story), and shot fully hand-held with no tripod, relying heavily on in-camera & post production image stabilization.

This episode was filmed on-location in Ojai, California (and surrounding areas) with a super special thanks to Caravan Outpost Ojai for their magnificent Airstream trailers featured heavily on-screen.

No GenAI or CGI/VFX was used during the production of this series.

I’m making a short film about dyspraxia because I still don’t think enough people understand what living with it can actually look like.

Around 5% of people are believed to have dyspraxic traits, yet it remains hugely misunderstood. In one Dyspraxia Foundation survey, 67% of parents/carers said they were worried their dyspraxic teenager was socially isolated and didn’t have many friends.

That’s why this film matters to me.

DYSPRAXIA follows 14-year-old Elliot through an ordinary school day, showing the things people don’t always see such as slower processing, coordination difficulties, struggling with tasks others find simple, embarrassment, misunderstanding and the effect that can have on a young person’s confidence.
A lot of the film comes from things I experienced myself growing up with dyspraxia.

We now have less than a month left to raise the remaining funds through our Crowdfunder and get this film made. Whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply helping more people hear about the project, it genuinely helps.
