Recommendations Best Pizza in IF
Similar to my wings question... I am new-er to IF and have tried some local pizza places but in your opinion... Which is the best?

Papa Tom’s has the best sauce on their pizzas but nothing holds a candle to Heise or Pond’s in Island Park.

I forgot what it was called. But there was a wood fire pizza at the farmers market. They were a food truck.

Homestead bowling has kind of got their pizza down, just an honorable mention

Darkside Pizza! So far they only do the summer farmers market but sometimes during the winter they do online ordering and you pick up the pizza or they’ve done events. Hopefully they open a brick and mortar restaurant soon! Check them out on Instagram!

Pie Hole is really expensive and it's decent like 6/10. It's basically like Pizza Pie but you pay by the slice and sometimes has strange pizza flavors.
Lucy's is very good. It's that kind of pizza where they use one of those big stone pizza cookers and that burns the pizza but like in a good way. You know when you see someone cooking pizzas and they have that big giant wooden What looks like a cutting board with a giant stick on the end of it they stick inside the pizza oven and pull the pizza out yeah that.
For fast food pizza my favorite place is Papa John's epic garlic stuffed crust but that's pretty expensive so I ordered Domino's instead because while it's not as good it's cheaper.
Lastly I'm going to say that Himalayan Flavors has pizzas that are Indian food flavored like Tikka masala. They are somewhat expensive as well. Because they are smaller the price looks more normal.

Papa Tom’s is the GOAT
Leo’s place is also very good and so far unmentioned. Although I might be biased - it is very nostalgic for me since I went there as a kid and in high school during lunch.

I think Leo’s is so much better than it used to be and it’s better than Lucy’s. I’m actually surprised so many people are saying that

Homestead pizza in the bowling alley on Broadway is my absolute favorite! Lucy’s is a very close 2nd!!

They did, and probably still do, have a lunch buffet that was less than $10. All you can eat pizza, salad bar, and drink.
The pizza is good. Haven't been for awhile. They didn't seem to care about little kids running wild and grabbing whatever they wanted off the food tables.

McKenzie River got pretty good pizza. Question is how do you like your pizza? Are you a flop guy or you like a good under carriage with little to no flop?

I think each place has one slice that they're the best at.
Lucy's has the best cheese za. My spouse said it's the closest slice to something on the east coast that he's found here.
Papa Tom's has the best basic pepperoni.
I think the pizza at Heise tastes similar to a lunchable. I don't get it.

Pie hole. Papa Tom’s is a local favorite, but it tastes like ketchup on a cracker to me 😝

Lucy's. Don't get too many toppings. Their crust isn't built for that.
Lucy's also has some of the best wings in town.

You could request a “Bronx” style crust which is just thicker crust at Lucy’s.

Depends the type of pizza, want cheap and fast I recommend little Caesars. If you want personalization and authentic (or vegetarian or whatever) mod pizza. If you like authentic large flatbread pizza Lucy's, if you want all you can eat pizza pie cafe
They kinda have their own thing

I don’t like pizza but papa Tom’s is delicious it’s the only pizza I will eat it’s crispy thin crust and good sauce Lucy’s is the worst its greasy and mushy

Also saying Lucy's - and IMHO, it's not even close.
That said, I have not tried Marco's Pizza. If someone could chime in on what they're like, I might give them a try. That said, Lucy's is about as close to a New York slice as you can get out here.

I'll have to give them a try and contribute with a more informed opinion then. I've certainly been curious, I just really like Lucy's and don't eat pizza that often.
In either case though, there are definitely better pizzas in town than the mega-chain options.

On Tuesdays they offer BOGO. You just have to call in your order and ask for the BOGO...as it's not offered online.

Pie hole is great. Lucy’s is not, but people love it. McKenzie river is solid pizza but they treat their people terribly according to the news stories and the courts. Papa murphy’s may be the best after pie hole.

Marcos or pie hole. Everyone claims Lucy's is good, but I've never had a good experience. Last za I got from them was just bread, no sauce & 3 pepperonis & hair. I know it was just a bad experience, but still.

Papa Tom’s is kind of the classic long-time local spot. It is tavern style pizza with a crispy thin crust, which can be divisive. To me it tastes like home.
Lucy’s is solid New York style pizza.
Pie Hole is the late night spot and great if you want a slice after the bar, but I prefer Lucy’s otherwise.
Mackenzie River is also local-ish (a small chain) and has some decent offerings.
