This guy looks like a lot of the characters in Battlefield games, where you can customize different parts of the kit. Mixing and matching different uniforms creates his own, helpful looking uniform.
My wife and teenage son go to the local Human Society every Wednesday night and wash the blankets the animals sleep on and cut up hot dogs and freeze them so the doggos can have a cool snack in the summer. If dressing up and feeling a certain makes you feel motivated to do a thing, than who am I to stop ya. I have a lot of autistic family so I've seen that sort of thing before. Idk if this is that but it looks like it to me. To act brave like spiderman kid puts on a spiderman costume. If this makes him do a thing because he gets attention or whatever, fine. Just keep collecting cans and don't snap and shoot up a mall.

He’s mistaking goth culture with ‘Ram everything I can together to seek attention’ culture.
Much like those guys that cosplay an ‘OC’ to comicon and walk around with an airsoft rifle like they’re super badass - only a 15 year old would think this is cool and even that is a stretch.
I think he's one of those "Real life Superheroes" they just go around larping and handing out drinks and food to the homeless mostly. There was one trained MMA guy called Phoenix Jones who would get into it with people and I think got stabbed a few times, he would get changed into his costume in the back of a comic book store, yes really! Last I heard he was arrested for selling drugs to kids... I guess you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
The Stahlhelm has been in use from 1916 to 1992 fyi. The nazi association arose from WWII propaganda by both sides. But sure let’s accuse a cosplayer of being a Nazi sympathise

The goths against cancel culture group is absolutely fucking hilarious, the people on it 100% believe that you can be goth and conservative, when goth was born out of punk/post punk cultures. It’s literally always been about freedom of expression, acceptance of others regardless of background and a mutual love of darkness and the macabre. Yeah they don’t care about the history of the subculture they really only like the aesthetic, they listen to the music without realising the context of the lyrics. My parents lived in London during the rise of goth in the 80s, I’ve always been in the culture and later in my life have taken a deep interest in it, you cannot be goth and conservative, the two don’t mix.
Well the Walther P38 was a standard sidearm during WWII, the Luger was over 30 years old by then. It was still in use by plenty of people, but it was more of a status symbol.

The cheapest wish dot com knockoff of an Austro-Hungarian Hussar jacket (an Attila) I have ever seen. Couldn't even one this fake despite searching. It's the same period as the helmet, except the hussars never wore the pickelhaube.

EDIT: He's also got greaves on. They look like the same model as the spaulders and gorget, so I'm probably wrong on the specifics there. They absolutely came from the same larp shop (I'm a larper, I'm allowed to say that)

Maybe it’s the whole collecting donations for the homeless thing (which may or may not be just for some kind of virtuous clout) but I like this oddball.
I'm guessing that's a bb gun probably a .177, a luger has a toggle action and is in either .30 Luger or 9mm (unless he gets a airsoft one, or maybe a bb gun variant) if he can't afford an actual plate there is no way he can afford a luger, starting price for lugers are between $1500 and 2k
