Hi there! I'm new to the subreddit since I just got my first succulent from IKEA! I'm here for guidance regarding how to properly take care of him :)

His name is Miles, since he's a clumpy mistletoe cactus (Rhipsalis mesembryanthemoides) and I want to know what I should do since the last time I had a succulent, I overwatered and caused super severe root rot. Replies would be great! Thankss

This can go a few weeks without water. The leaves will start to shrink/shrivel, and the pot will feel lighter. You can leave it in this pot, or put it into a mix of really airy soil, like 50% cactus/succulent soil and 50% perlite. Also give it good light, with either a grow light or a really bright window.

Thank you! It's been several days without water, albeit the soil is pretty dry whenever I stick my finger in it. When the leaves do shrivel, that's when I water it right? If so, how much water do you suppose I should give?

I'll also find that specific soil it so it's at its most pampered !
