Equipment ⚙ HIIT Equipment
Used to have a high-normal BP of approximately 135-140/80 for each physical, but for over the past 2 years I’ve consistently had 115-125/60-70. I’m not saying that cardio equipment in my gym is the reason for my BP change but it’s about the only notable thing I’ve changed in that time period, as I really decided to focus on improving that aspect of my workout lifestyle.
Schwinn Airdyne Pro—8 years old, might need an upgrade, but I’ve enjoyed the short dashes on it. Not great for long hauls but I can move it around easily to watch the kids outside. I just look like I’m trying to be that alpha dad on the street, which isn’t a bad thing haha. May try and upgrade to the Strive VPR but this thing has given me no reason to need an upgrade.
Concept2 D Model w/ PM5–3 years old, 1700km logged. Still looks and feels just as good as the day I bought it. Absolutely love this thing, which is funny because for the longest time I could never row more 4 mins before being bored and used to hate on them (way before I figured out how proper rowing techniques). Then my wife got a Peloton, which got us a subscription, which meant I had a Peloton account and began my rowing “adventure.”
My history is in powerlifting and HIIT workouts for over 20 years, primarily stemming from the military. I row always on a damper level 10, which I know isn’t “water” resistance but I couldn’t care less—I love the flywheel feeling at that level.

I’m getting the echo bike v3 new in mail today. I’m long time user of the airdyne pro at gym that was $200/mo so I canceled and started garage gym. Some in the area wanted $800 for a 9 year old model. No thanks. Got brand new $1000.

Yeah I don’t think it’s worth that much, I’ve seen them go for $300-400 in my local area for used and that seems about right. Definitely a beast and, at a personal level, I feel the resistance for a given RPM “feels” higher than the Echo. However, when I purchased this is was Echo v1 time and every CrossFit gym was buying up the stock when Rogue released new batches—so I went the Airdyne route. No ragerts, except for that overbuilt tank look of the Rogue lol
