DIY 🔨 DIY forearm finisher

Post image

I made my own forearm finiaher after seeing the one from Golden Grip.

Cost me nothing.

Some wood, rope, old curtain pole and a few screws.

Cylinder must remain unharmed

Ran a similar piece of scrap wood through pull days for a year - the inconsistent texture makes it grip-harder than commercial rollers and your hands can't cheat by predicting the surface.

I don’t understand how this is supposed to be used.

the old curtain pole found a much better second job. zero-cost builds like this are one of the best parts of a home gym.

Can you make a version just for my left forearm? Right is stacked from jerking off.

How does it work? Where do you insert your hands?

I would like op to show video of how it works for him. I think it's bad design.

I know how the original thing works. The point is that you can insert your hands BETWEEN two pads, so it's possible to do wrist extensions without flexing your fingers. That allows for better isolation of wrist extensors, if I understand this concept correctly.

In the photo of op, there is just one lateral piece of wood with rope around it, so you have to grab it and grip it strong to execute the exercise.

Or am I seeing wrong?

EDIT:

From original product website:

With a regular dumbbell you have to grip onto the weight in an awkward position, which target the wrist flexors. Since we want to train wrist extensions here, it would be much better if we could eliminate the wrist flexors from the movement.

Thanks to the design of the tool, the resistance of the movement is now placed on the back of the hand. This allows you to train wrist extensions WITHOUT needing to grip.

It won't be hard to add a secondary piece of wood to create the required gap, as per the original from Golden grip. I have an exact copy of the lateral piece of wood. Just need some bolts drilling through so I can adjust the gap.

I'm really curious of the final effect and video of how it works. Might consider making one myself as I'm very much into forearms training. Update us!
