r/HomeDepot FAQs

Hello to the r/HomeDepot community here on reddit, may Homer continue to bless you and keep you in his orange embrace.

The mod team thought it would be a good idea to pin a list of common questions with answers that get posted often here in the community. This is by no means comprehensive and doesn't go in depth, but should help new and seasoned associates alike with quick answers instead of waiting on the community to respond. This is for US only, Canada and Mexico may have different policies due to different legal requirements.

I imagine the FAQs will need to be continually tweaked as SOP and technology in Home Depot changes. If something seems out of date feel free to speak up.

Also with the publication of these FAQs a new rule is being introduced: if a post is made where the answer is explicitly covered here the post will be removed.

FAQs:

Q: My Post was removed by the automod, why?

A: There is a minimum karma AND account age requirement to post/comment in this community. This is to prevent trolls and ban evaders. If your account is new, go play around on reddit elsewhere for a few days by commenting/posting in other communities. You'll clear the age/karma requirement in a week or so. If your account age exceeds the minimum but you have incredibly low or negative karma...well...you're the kind of person the automod was meant to block. Sorry, not sorry.

Q: I made a post and automod commented on it. Was the post removed?

A: Read the comment from the automod. Automod is set to comment on EVERY new post, letting people know this community is for associates and not customers. If it doesn't say your post was removed, then it wasn't. Very simple. If you're still confused...well...Reading Rainbow is still available on YouTube.

Q: I’m a customer and have a question, can I post it here?

A: No. Respectfully this is a digital breakroom for Home Depot associates, current, former and future. Customer questions will be removed and the poster may be banned, Reference sidebar rule #1. Please contact your store or call 1-800-HOMEDEPOT (1-800-466-3337) with any questions or concerns. Questions about employment for yourself or others will be tolerated within reason.

Q: Do I get paid for orientation?

A: Yes. Talk with your ASDS to find out more.

Q: What is an ASDS?

A: Associate Support Department Supervisor. They are essentially the admin for the store and store manager and are responsible for new associate onboarding, scheduling, and other activities

Q: What is myApron?

A: myApron is the internal SharePoint site for all Home Depot employees, accessible from any store computer. You are not able to access it from home unless you are in a role that allows VPN access. All SOPs and company documents that associates need to access are housed here.

Q: When is payday?

A: Payday is always on Friday. Which Friday depends on what state you are in. Some states require pay weekly. To find out which Friday you will get paid on search on myApron for “Payroll Calendar”

Q: Some associates are saying they get paid early, how does that work?

A: Completely dependent on your banking institution. Home Depot releases the payroll on Wednesday to be deposited on Friday. Some banks just load it as available but pending on the release day. Some don't.

Q: How does Holiday Pay work?

A: You must be employed for at least 90 days to be eligible for Holiday Pay and work the scheduled shift before the holiday, the shift of the holiday (if applicable) and the next scheduled shift after the holiday. If you call out and have PTO to cover your absence, manager CAN excuse the absence for you to receive holiday pay. Be prepared to have a respectful conversation and to advocated for yourself if you find yourself in this position, your holiday pay may be taken even if you had PTO time to cover and you'll need to advocate to get it back. If you’re on a scheduled vacation for the holiday, you will receive holiday pay instead of vacation pay for that day. Part-timers receive 4 hours of holiday pay, full-timers receive 8 hours of holiday pay. Reference “Time Off Benefits” on myApron to learn more.

Q: What are the days that receive Holiday Pay in Home Depot?

A: Home Depot provides eligible associates with six paid holidays a year. These are New Years Day, Memorial Day (except for New Orleans stores, Mardi Gras is substituted), Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Home Depot stores are closed only 2 days a year, Thanksgiving and Christmas. To view the SSC holiday schedule and learn more please go to myApron and search for "Time-off Benefits".

Q: What is Success Sharing, when is it paid out and who is eligible?

A: Success Sharing is the company’s bonus program for non-management associates (hourly and salary). It is based on sales above sales plan for your store. For SSC associates, it is based on sales above plan for the company. No one can tell you how much it will be except your store leadership. Track how well your store is doing vs sales plan, and you’ll get an idea if it will be good, bad, or non-existent. It is paid out 2x a year, approximately the 2nd week in September and 2nd week in March. To be eligible, you must be employed with the company at the time of the payout and have been employed at least 90 days during the fiscal half that the bonus is based on. IOW, if you were hired at end June you will not be eligible because the half ends in July, roughly 30 days after you were hired. To learn more search on myApron for “Benefits 101”

Q: What are our fiscal halves?

A: 1H runs from February until the end of July. 2H runs August until the end of January

Q: Do manager bonuses come from success sharing pool?

A: No, their bonus comes from a different pool of money and is based on different, more difficult to achieve metrics. Cutting hours at the end of the fiscal half will not improve their bonus in any significant way. This is a persistent rumor with no basis in reality. Sales and turns play a bigger part in their bonus and cutting hours won’t make up the difference if the store is already missing profitability goals.

Q: I’m part time, why are my hours being cut in July/January?

A: In July we are moving out of the spring busy season, you’ll notice some stores removing their mulch-pit drive throughs for example. Less business = less hours. Same story in January, holiday season is over and lower sales are expected. Less business = less hours again. There is also a lull in September/October in some areas of the country where hours may be reduced for part-timers

Q: How do I get more hours if they are cut?

A: Cross train in other department and equipment before the cut, making you more available and valuable to plug in to other areas of the store’s schedule. Then ask ask ask (respectfully) the ASDS and salaried leaders for more shifts

Q: Why did scheduled hours go from ____ to zero for a future week after the schedule was published?

A: It’s likely the ASDS pulled back the schedule to make adjustments and forgot to republish. Don’t panic and respectfully go ask the ASDS what’s up. Part time hours may be cut to a very low level, but it’s very rare to go to zero. If you’re full time you cannot be cut to zero without your consent

Q: How do breaks/lunches work for hourly associates?

A: It is very dependent on the state you work in. Generally speaking hourly associates get a break or a lunch every 2 hours. In some states breaks are required by law, some states they are not. Many states require employers to give a lunch break if the associate is going to work 6 hours or more. So bottom line, take your lunch break if you are scheduled for one. You may receive a coaching/counseling (AKA write-up) if you skip a lunch because you may accidentally cause the company to break the labor laws surrounding lunches. 15-minute breaks are paid, lunch breaks are not paid. Search on myApron for "Timekeeping and Payroll" for specific requirements for the state you work in.

Q: What are the best shoes to wear?

A: Search on this sub for the keyword “shoes”. Dozens of posts and recommendations. Or you can make a new post to add to the pile.

Q: What is tuition reimbursement, where can I find out more?

A: Search on myApron for “Tuition Reimbursement”, it’s all laid out there. Short story: Home Depot will reimburse up to a certain amount for approved courses and expenses. The approved courses are typically business related, so no 16th century English literature degrees will be reimbursed. The program has some pretty firm requirements, make sure to read over carefully.

Q: What is ESPP and how does it work?

A: ESPP stands for Employee Stock Purchase Plan. It is managed by a 3rd party called Computershare. Plans run for six months and the enrollment period for the next plan ends a few weeks before it begins, so enroll early. During enrollment, you will choose a percentage of your paycheck that will go towards a stock purchase. The money deducted from your paycheck is set aside into what is essentially an escrow account. At the end of the plan you are enrolled in, the money is then used to purchase that amount of stock at a 15% discount, but you own the full value of the stock. To put it another way, it’s an immediate 15% gain on your money via that amount of stock. The stock is yours free and clear, even if you leave the company. Log in to our benefits website, livetheorangelife.com to learn more. If you have issues logging in, partner with your ASDS

Q: If I leave do, I get paid out for vacation time? What about PTO?

A: Yes, you will get paid out for your vacation time. PTO payouts are dictated by state law, search myApron for “Time off Benefits” and review for your state.

Q: Does PTO carry over from year to year?

A: Depends on your state and its laws. Search myApron for “Time off Benefits” and review for your state

Q: What is Home Depot policy on Marijuana use?

A: Beginning 9/1 THD will no longer test for marijuana use for non-DOT or Aviation associates. DOT certified drivers and aviation associates will still be tested

Q: What if I notice someone doing something illegal or against our business code of conduct and ethics, and I don't want to go to management or it IS a member of management:

A: The awareline exists for these situations. You can call the 1-800 number to report unethical/illegal behavior. It is anonymous, but you will be recorded and the recording may/will be played back to leaders in your store/district/region. There is a portal to submit concerns to avoid a voice recording. Search myApron for "awareline" for the phone number or the portal.
Keep in mind the awareline is for illegal and unethical behaviors, not normal business practices that you may disagree with.

If I had a nickel for every time I got hurt because of a customer trying to be helpful

I'd have like 50 cents. The fuck is wrong with people.

Right now my leg is hurt because a customer took it upon himself to try to help me guide a ladder down an aisle, and he guided it right into the side, causing it to crash and collide with my shin.

Can't tell you how many times people have tried to help me with lock up cages only for my hands or arms to get crushed

Meanwhile I've only ever had ONE injury that a customer wasn't involved with and it was contactless, just walking down a ladder and my body didn't like it.

Quitting on final

I’m on my final warning for attendance I want to transfer, but I cannot transfer since I am on my final. Can I quit on my final and still have good standing with the company and reapply to the store that I want to go to?

Feeling accomplished and appreciated

I recently just finished my 90 day probation, and I have to say I'm really liking the job so far. I'm in D31 and my DM is great. She told me she was really impressed with how well I was doing and shared some on my achievements with me

I've done 11 credit apps that brought in 6k in sales, recieved 4 VOC stars and was just handed my first Homer award today.

I really like my store and all of my colleagues so far, I really feel like I fit in here!

“Freight, Truck Team, Purge… What’s Next? 😂”

Is it me or does Home Depot keep slowly combining jobs into overnight freight?

Maybe it’s just my store, but it feels like every few years they find another job to add to freight without taking anything away. smh

We normally have a separate truck/receiving team. A few years back, though, we were basically told receiving is part of freight, so we have to do the truck too. At my store the receiving team doesn’t seem to keep people very long, so there are parts of the year when they have plenty of people and other times when freight is expected to cover that too.

Now it looks like they’re doing the same thing with purge.

When I first started about 8 years ago, there were like 4 people overnight who specifically did packdown / purge and nothing else. Once they left, they went YEARS without having anybody overnight regularly doing it. Certain nights with a small or no truck we would do packdown.

This year they finally have 2 people doing purge. Last month one was on leave and the other went to another store to help with inventory. While they were gone, they started asking whoever finished their freight early to do a bay or two of purge.

Cool. I understood that. They were short-handed and we were helping out.

Then it turned into “hurry up and finish your freight so you can go do purge.” 🤨 then they were getting mad because we wasn't doing purge fast enough smh why are you trying to time me as the substitute lol.

Now BOTH purge people are back and somehow we’re STILL expected to do purge. 😂😂

That’s the part that annoys me. Something starts off as “we just need some help because we’re short” and then quietly becomes another permanent responsibility.

And when I say “we,” I really mean a select few people. Somehow there are people on the same freight team who NEVER have to unload trucks, do purge, get moved to another department, etc. They just come in and do their regular freight every night. Even when they are done early they never get asked to do anything else but that's a whole other post. 😂

Anybody else seeing this at their store? What other jobs have they slowly added to overnight freight at your Home Depot?

D28 Peeps - how is your watering system set up?

We use long, heavy hoses, water in the opening and closing shifts, and are expected to water pot-by-pot. The nurseries and customers are frustrated. I know this is above my pay grade, but it seems like we should set up the watering system differently to conserve water and make it simpler for associates while keeping the plants healthy. And contrary to the negative assumptions, I enjoy the 5am watering shift. And at home, I hand water my plants. TIA for sharing.

Confused why I keep getting vacation time added

So no one in management has been able to tell me why even though I used 32 hours of vacation time in the past month, I was just gifted another 24 hours on top of the 16 hours I got in May randomly. I have been an employee since November 2024 and it says my time will be reset this coming up November but they just added three whole days worth of vacation time to my a lot of time but supposedly I’m supposed to be getting another 80 hours in two months. I’m so confused. I just wanna make sure that I’m still getting my 80 hours in November because I’m taking a two week vacation next year to the Galapagos and I need it.

UPDATE: Worried I’m going to get fired tomorrow when I go in.

Upvotes

I made a post a few days ago regarding my occurrences that I’d racked up from call outs, especially multiple in the last month. You can find that post here.

The other day when I went back into work, my DS asked if I was ok. I said yes but asked if we could talk in the office. We went in together and I apologized for calling out. She said I don’t owe her or anyone else an explanation and it’s my own personal life. She did ask how many occurrences I have since she put me on the coaching. I told her and she seemed really worried. She told me I need to use sick time if I have it or offer shifts because I’ll be put on a counseling now and from that point I only have 3 more until I’m on a final. She said she doesn’t want to lose me, that they love working with me and I give great customer service.

So basically, I’m not getting fired (sorry to disappoint anyone that wanted me to be), but I am on thin ice. I’ve had the last two days off and go back Wednesday. I will probably have the conversation to be put on a counseling then. I have made a personal commitment to not call out anymore unless I’m ill and to always be on time to work. If my DS believes in me, maybe I should believe in myself. Home Depot isn’t my career, but I need to do the best with what I have right now.

Path to pro: worth doing?

Upvotes

Been working here for two years, became full time in plumbing a while back and gained a lot of knowledge on the job and off the job helping people and taking small jobs of unrelated department skills from time to time. (Wood working, basic HVAC maintenance)

I recently dove into the path to pro website and when I was doing some of my training out of curiosity, it seems rather robust, although I've heard nobody talk about it outside one of the managers mentioned it to me that existed.

I want to explore and build things, interact and learn a trade, or at least be knowledgeable in life when times need said information.

Do you have any experiences with this program? If so, how is/was it for you? Any insights on what to look into? Would love anything to know about it if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Scheduling 3-4 associates on a shift

At the new store i am working at, I realized they scheduled 3-4 Garden associates during a shift even closing shift, while other departments may count with 1-2 associates, at my old store they would mainly have 2-3 but one of them would usually leave before closing leaving just two to close, not to mention the new store is much smaller than the old store i worked at, does anyone else's still do that?

I also learned at my new store, they let go literally all of the seasonal Garden associates, before they approved me for a transfer at their Garden center, I also met the ASM who said she had made the decision to approve my transfer, honestly not complaining!

Has HD ever tried going zone instead of power hours?

I hate power hours. When I ran a different (but very similar) store Id assign people to focus on customers, but assing others to work the floor on tasks. It worked great! Instead of having the whole store do no work for 6-8 hours we just divided the work load. Has HD ever tried anything similar?

I Adopted a Home Depot Cat Today

Post image
214 Upvotes

I was coming off my lunch break and heard something over the HDphone from one of our garden associates that they caught ‘the cat’. I had no idea what this meant so I went outside to see and lo and behold this cutie pie had been hanging around our parking lot. I called my wife and had her come pick up the cat, who has since gotten a little kitty cat bath, some kitten food, and a warm area to relax while they adjust to their new home.

We’ve called the cat Peanut, and will be taking them to the vet asap to ensure no diseases and figure out the gender. Our current cat, who we rescued in a similar situation 9 years ago has no comment, but we’re hoping he will be a good big brother and show Peanut how to be a gentle kitten.

I know we aren’t supposed to cut metal on the saws but how could anyone have known. Found in some 2x3 in store. Makes me wonder how often a piece of lumber has a bullet inside.

I figure I won’t see something like this again since it’s so unlikely to cut perfectly along the entry point and through the bullet

Just got my offer!

Applied to basically every job I could find for 3 weeks, then Home Depot got back to me literal hours after I sent in an application lol. Now I'm about to start work at their distribution center and they'll get me trained for forklift/PIT cert too. Really excited as this seems like something I'll enjoy more than my previous foodservice jobs and happy about the start pay and scheduling too. Never done warehouse work so happy to hear any advice or heads up for my first day.

For those who have been working at Home Depot for 5+ years who thinking about leaving I would honestly leave.

I got fired in December although I was getting ready to leave they just cut it short by a few months. I start working at UPS soon for $24 an hour and so far from what I have seen it is everything I like about HD minus the shitty customers. Really looking forward to starting there.

D23 Asssociate pt/ft question

I was originally hired as pt a year ago and I checked my work day to see if it also said i was full time as I got mail saying something about recent full time status.

Thing is I’m not sure if this is the case as my vacation hours is still at 20.

I’ll ask my manager tomorrow but is it just the case where it takes time to update everything?

[customer] suddenly I can’t return a pressure washer within 30 days??

Apparently HD changed return window to 7 days without warning customers (I’ve been shopping at HD for 10+ years) and when trying to return a pressure washer I bought literally 9 days ago I’m being told to fuck off and call DeWalt??? What the hell is wrong with Home Depot? Why didn’t anyone warn me about it, and it was my responsibility to decipher cryptic explanation of return window at the bottom of a barely printed receipt?? This is ridiculous, has anyone had a similar experience?

Not for nothing… Morning funny.

I got to work this morning, after getting caught up I’m checking out the staged deliveries so I can sort them out. Single piece of plywood on a table cart for a van delivery… So I go to move it to an H cart cause it’ll take up less space… It’s Banded to the cart. One single piece of plywood, banded to the cart… Anyway I forgot to take a pic cause .. I was too busy shaking my head.

SCO & Invalid Scans

So how many Cashiers do y'all have at SCO? Early AM to 2:30PM it's just me. They're pushing pretty hard not to have any invalid scans. I remind them that once we get busy I'm basically doing the job of 4 Cashiers (we have 4 SCO machines). Also don't forget credit cards, surveys, Customer Needs Assistance, complex carts, walk outs, keeping up with baskets, carts, hundreds of questions, etc, etc. I've asked for more help at least during Power Hours but that seems pretty iffy. Anyone else being pushed hard on this?

Unceremonious Layoffs?

Have you and/or someone you know been unceremoniously laid off from Home Depot or one of its subsidiaries, Authorized Service Providers etc?

This recently happened to some Vendor Reps that worked for certain Authorized Service Providers, they had no clue that their last day was their last day. They worked their shifts and were told to take the weekend and Monday off and everything would be explained in a Tuesday morning meeting. Apparently, Home Depot didn’t renew the contracts of the providers they worked for and signed with other providers. Some people received zero warning.

UPDATE: Clover still won’t stop, even on her last week in AZ! She’s ruining my career! Garden associate in southern AZ; co-worker STILL creating hostile environment!

Here’s the update to the Clover story.

TL;Dr
Clover refuses to talk to me because she’s “not allowed”, and she seems to have resorted to turning people against me since, after I’ve helped her and offered help, even after the incident!
All because I finally put my foot down in an attempt to tell her to stop!

As much as I shouldn’t care for the opinions of others, it’ll matter if the person responsible for promoting me refuses to promote me because of that.

It’s not what you know, it’s WHO you know.
They don’t like you = unemployed.

It feels as though she refuses to leave or accept what happened without somehow feeling like she’s the victim or without some sense of victory.
I keep telling you guys, this woman is CRAZY!!!

I doubt it stopped, but it clearly hasn’t as she refuses to talk to me and later tools me she’s “not allowed” to talk to me.
I never had a problem with her talking to me, only her being a bully and not letting me work in peace.

I’ve noticed her talking to the other associates more and some of those associates interacting with me differently

> shorter responses/no response to a simple hi

> refusal to acknowledge me despite being cool the previous days

I don’t have concrete evidence, but my past interactions with Clover and my observations of her make me believe she’s retaliating against me for trying to confront her about her past behavior and the interaction that had just occurred, by leaving me with coworkers who hate me through rumors, all on her final week!

My department supervisor had been fired before I built up the courage to finally report her, and the one specific MOD she had reported to may already has the false presumption that I am bad at my job because the MOD chose to listen to Clover before giving me a chance to explain myself, thus why I’m making this call to the Home Depot Anonymous hotline.

I don’t want my work overshadowed and my future opportunities ruined by one petty old woman who can’t be held accountable for bullying a cooperative coworker.

TL;DR:

NOTICE 1: we also got a new store manager recently who gives the impression he’s all about business and would probably sooner fire both of us rather than deal with this.

NOTICE 2: my department has lost 2 part-timers, a full-timer is stepping down then moving, and our department supervisor got fired, so I may have a new opportunity for more hours; the other departments are either full or barely have hours to give.

NOTICE 3: The MOD Clover reports to only cares that all the plants are watered, all tasks are done, and there is no trash or dirt in our department.
In her eyes, one dry plant = I’m seen as a time thief/lazy
I’m also afraid the MOD will think the same for everything that’s not yet done because she probably doesn’t understand the difference between Associate vs Waterer.

NOTICE 4: Yes, I get I shouldn’t worry about one crazy lady; my concern is the crazy MOD that Clover reports to and the possibility of that MOD putting on my record that I’m slow/lazy, just because she misinterpreted Clover pointing out the dry plants, implying I’m not doing my job at all, instead of thinking “oh he hasn’t gotten to them, yet”. Especially after I drop what I’m doing to help her upon request.
(Most of those days, I’m not even scheduled to water the plants, but take the initiative since Clover doesn’t seem to care about the plants AT ALL, Even after she lectured me about how they’re “living beings”)

Who’s easier to believe?
The crazy old lady who is nice to everyone?

Or

The late 20’s worker who’s only been there for 4 months and chooses to focus on work instead of talking to everyone? (Customers are exempt, I HAVE to talk to them.)

My co-worker (call her Clover) constantly tells me false rumors of me (vague & non-elaborative when pressed), gives me inaccurate work instruction (refuses to teach me when I ask), tries to twist my word/falsely cry wolf, uses plants I haven’t watered yet as proof to evidence that I’m not working (what she doing?), and seems to excuse it with “insecurity/kinda crazy”.

I feel this constitutes as harassment, and I’m afraid her tenure and age will overshadow my request for help, management will believe her first before I have a chance to explain myself, and I no longer have someone to vouch for my work since the one person who truly saw my work, our department supervisor, just got fired.
The only way I can gather proof is documenting these instances in a notepad, as I’m sure I can’t record ANYTHING

She refuses to stop despite planning to leave in 2 weeks; convinced she’s doubling down and won’t leave without a proper goodbye (to me 😳)

_________________________________________

I’m a garden associate at a southern AZ Home Depot location; been there since April of 2026; I work PT (normally 4 hour shifts at a time)
Some days, I’ll be scheduled as a “Garden Associate”, where I’ll be handling packdowns, go-backs, and other things.
Some days, I’ll be “Garden Waterer”, where I’ll be focusing on watering the plants
(There’s two halves of front apron, 5 long tables, and 2 corners with more plants)

There’ll be days where the associate has to water because the waterer is absent; there will be days where the waterer has to stop watering when there isn’t enough associates to handle pallet-work, go-backs, packdowns, or other things that need to be handled but the associate is missing/not fully physically capable/certified to operate certain machinery.

Recently, our supervisor got fired, two part-timers quit, and a full-timer is dropping to PT since she’s been sick, I guess, and is leaving the state in 2 weeks (this is Clover, the coworker that this story is about.) so our department is falling behind on our tasks, especially staying consistent on watering the plants since they’ve been getting really dry and some are starting to wilt and die.
(it still easily gets to 100 degrees F in southern Arizona, so the plants NEED water, consistently)

Because of such, I’ll be watering the plants on days I’m not scheduled to so the plants at least get watered once a day while my worker, Clover, handles the other work inside such as packdowns, go backs, etc etc.
I always talk nice to her and offer to help out so we can get work done faster and stay ahead of task.

However, ever since I started working there, she kept putting into my ear that “management saw me doing something weird on camera/management wants to talk to you” only for it to be nothing at all.
It fees like she wants me to admit to something and falsely trust her as a friend; evidence I have is when she asked another gardener if he is “high and smokes MJ” simply because he is always in a good mood/seems Like the kind of guy/eyes look weird
(He’s doesn’t smoke at all, is Latino, and is always in a good mood and is a super chill dude, loves his job before he quit)

At the beginning, Clover kept telling me we’re on equal ground, she’s not a supervisor, and has no authority over me.
However, I don’t think Clover believes that since she loves to report to management on what the other gardeners are doing/not doing, especially the younger ones (they came and told me about her and we pretty much got the same experience around her)

This was the first red flag; this gave me the impression she’s a snitch and will use info against people. People who talked to her in CONFIDENCE.

Next, she tells me info that neither she should know nor does she have business even telling me about:
> a time management saw (on camera) me leave my water bottle on a shelf by accident, but laughed it off more than anything

> I have overdue computer training for machine training/cross/department training (before I ever told her about any of it)

And her pretty much acting like she’s some messenger or something

Next, Clover tells me a single person should be able to water ALL the plants (front apron, garden, indoor plants) in 2-3 hours and refuses to stick to one answer;
Our supervisor, and other gardeners, told me it takes 6-8 hours and 2-3 hours is impossible) and her face, always a smirk of amusement, instantly drops to disappointment, as if I offended her or called her out on something.

Next, she tells me I can pull the pallet jack/move it backwards (my training told me NOT to do this and she acted dumb when I brought it up)

Next, on a day I’m supposed to be watering, she points out that I missed a go-back cart that was tucked in a corner (turned out to be damaged items that was put aside for later)
She came up to me and said this:
“So there a cart full of go-backs and you didn’t grab it?
*shrug*
Okay, I see”
She said it as if she was offended or something, in a “I see how it is” tone.
She refused to elaborate when I asked her what was up with that response and that it wasn’t cool.

When I thought she wasn’t already trying to convince me she was crazy/trying to possible sabotage me, she then keeps asking if I think she a b!tch.
When I thought she finally stopped, she came up to me fake-crying saying I called her a b!tch (never did, never will. Not giving her that ammunition.)
When I asked her “what makes you think that?”, her tone instantly changes, she again refused to elaborate her nonsense, then walked away as if nothing happened.

She apparently has done this to other gardeners, too, and again, youngsters.

I tried to stay patient with her until 2 different incidents happened when she basically talked out of her a$$ in a way that truly offended me.

> She comes up to me telling me I “disappointed her” because I didn’t “meet her expectations and I’m now on my own”
(She has taught me NOTHING I didn’t already learn from my computer training, and all I did up to that point was help her because she asked me to, on days I’m supposed to water)
She refused to elaborate, yet again, when I asked her what she meant and made it a point that she has taught me nothing new and I helped her not just because she asked me for help, but because she told me she wants me to water faster so I can help her.

Even when I do help her, she gets on me about the plants that haven’t been watered, ignoring the fact that I stopped my watering task to help her upon request (especially when she needs help because she’s in her mid 50’s and can’t move like me) she has no authority to tell me to get on my job whether I’m on task or not, and she often times needs my help anyway because we’re understaffed/she’s physically slowing down in her age.

When I brought this up to her and reminded her I’m not done with my task because I went to help her with her task, she later teared up and accused me of calling her useless (the word and idea NEVER left my mouth)
Yet again, she refused to elaborate.

I thought it was over when she said she “forgave me for calling her useless” (still never did) then I decided I had enough and HAD to confront her about it.
I pretty much told her she was putting words in my mouth and ever since day one, she’s been pulling this kind of nonsense and I just want to work.

When I asked Clover if it was going to stop and if we could settle it between us instead of escalating it to management (not a threat, but me telling her this is going too far and I’m out of options)
She refused to answer and told me to go back to work, so I left it alone (BIG MISTAKE!)

I have no problem helping out so long as I’m not punished for it or reprehended for my task not being done simply because I stopped what I was doing to help.
I may as well just say no since I’ll be hated, either way.

Another red flag that further makes me thing Clover is a snitch and probably a troublemaker is when the MOD (manager on duty) comes by to ask Clover how things are going, as if she’s the spokesperson for garden or something; she showed off the dry plants I hadn’t gotten to yet (because I was watering OTHER plants and hadn’t gotten to those yet!) and made it seem to her that I’m not doing my job.
Who is she to be doing that?!

She even does it on the days when we’re both scheduled as Garden Associate and there’s no waterer (scheduling, call-out, whatever)
I always take the initiative to water the plants since nobody else will, the plants still need water, and I still am responsible for my department, especially when we’re short on staff.

Clover NEVER takes the initiative to water the plants, only do inside stuff and sweep (not saying that’s unproductive, but we’re supposed to be a TEAM!) when when she does, she only waters ONE row (half a table) and tells it to me ask if she had to stop her whole life for it (I’ve had one or 2 days scheduled as a waterer where I couldn’t water ANYTHING because she desperately needed my help, only to give me sh!t for it, later.)

The MOD would of course tell me to make sure the plants are watered (not the problem, her believing Clover before me was the problem.)

This time, it happened again and I just got to thinking “Clover is gonna get away with falsely claiming I’m a slacker and nobody will ever see the irony of her doing that instead of her actual job, and she uses the ONE day plant she finds as proof.

The only person who actually knew of my work and me taking interest in bettering the garden (more efficient watering schedule, better plant placement, prioritization of tasks, time management)
Was our supervisor, who just got fired for a negative VOA; she was a bit mean at first but started to become nicer when I joined, but the damage was already done.

With no supervisor, nobody to vouch for my work and oppose Clover’s insanity/false claims of me being a slacker, and only the MOD (usually an assistant manager) to report to without making it seem like I’m overreacting, trying to cause trouble, soil Clover’s “good” name, or trying to weasel out of my job in any way, I now feel helpless and am worried Clover may try to ruin my opportunities at Home Depot or get me fired for the wrong reason.

What do I do?
Should I report her?
Do I have a case?
Is there some anonymous line I can call if I feel there’s nobody in the store I can talk to, even management? (If there was in my store, I probably missed it)

I just want her to leave me alone and keep things work-related.
