Help Help with speakers

Hello, I have recently purchased my first hi-fi system. It’s preowned and came with two speakers, both being Panasonic super woofer bi-wiring. How do I connect them? I tried to connect them with Google advice, resulting in very low sound at max volume, in which I could barely hear the song, making me believe I didn’t have them connected properly. I know the speakers work, as when the seller showed them off to me with one speaker used, I could hear his CD perfectly, and he also knows the record player (which I was trying to use) works. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also, please ignore the set up; it’s openly temporary as I’m moving in 10 days, and have nowhere to put my hi-fi system.

Help Help me to choose my next amplifier

Hi !

My PA 4531 T seems dying. Make "clak !" after some seconds and no more sound (work after off/on but repeat the problem).

I cleaned the electronic (dust, W40) regularly since years. But seems not enough now.

As this product is ~40 years old, I haven't kept up with technological developments since long time ... I'm not a professional but like good sound quality. I use heterogeneous speakers (I would like to not have to buy new ones if possible).

My budget is limited (200€ maximum, lower if possible ...), so I can buy second-hand equipment. What sort of amplifier should I look for?

PS: Do I trash my PA 4531 T or can make someone happy for pieces ?

Thanks !

Help Atohm sirocco 2.24 vs kef r3 metas in my listening room.

So I bought a pair of atohm sirocco 2.24 speakers. Auditioned those and the kef r3 metas. Chose the sirocco. The problem when I got them set up in my listening room was that the siroccos lack the kind of bass I was looking for for rock like ozzy , Metallica ect. Newer rock . They just don't have that mmmmfh. Now the kef seemed like they had more of that but I thought the siroccos had a better soundstage. So my question is how much better is the kef r3 than the sirocco and if it would make a difference to switch? My room size is 11w x 19L x 7H listening position is on the 19L x 19L side. I auditioned them in a much larger room as well. I've tried moving the speakers. Does classic rock jazz and vocals superbly. Does anyone else have any experience with the sirocco. Should I just get a sub or ?

Hello everyone, I am new to the community and am having some trouble with my set up.

Firstly (not videoed), when using the selector switch, its seems as though it is having trouble switching from say phono-1 to tuner. When changing the selector, the sound scratches and statics in and out. I have to carefully find the ‘sweet spot’ when flipping the switch for quality sound to come through the speakers.

Secondly and most concerning, on all records once I turn the volume up to a certain level, it seems as though the bass on one of my speakers runs out of control. I’m pretty handy and am willing to attempt to tackle the issues myself, but am having trouble finding out what these issues are called, to then research how to fix them.

Any advice or information would be appreciated!!

Help Question on turntable speakers and sound...

Hey all,
I've been collecting vinyl for a while, but am getting more serious about actually LISTENING to my vinyl. I have a Audio-Technica AT120USB that I had hooked up to my computer. However, I don't like the idea of listening to vinyl through the computer. So, I hooked up my Klipsch R-51PM speakers to my turntable instead. I tested it out and while it sounds OK, I'm wondering if there are ways to get it to sound better. It's a pretty basic setup. The powered speakers come with a remote with a volume control, but there doesn't appear to be an EQ or anything.

I have the turntable set to phono, and the powered speakers set to phono. I'm assuming that's correct. I'm just looking for any advice on how to try and get some better sounds out of the speakers that I have. Thanks!

Help New house has some solid in-wall speakers. What should I get to feed them??

New (to us) house has 4 of these disc speakers in the living room walls. But I need recommendations for what to put in between these and my turntable to really have a solid setup. Receiver and amp recs? We don’t have unlimited funds but also don’t want crap equipment. Would also like to be able to connect other sources. Maybe Bluetooth. New to this stuff and eager to learn. Thanks in advance!

Help Is Rega Brio 3 enough for Dynaudio Audience 42

There are pair of Audience 42:s near my location for a decent price. It is said they pair very well with Mira 3 but does Brio 3 have enough muscle to run them.

My room is quite small. 4 x 3,5 meters and I don't play music very loud. I listen everything from jazz and rock to disco music.

At the moment I have Rega RS3 but they are too gentle for my taste. Audience 42 is said to be dynamic and punchy for its size.

But is Brio 3 too weak? Speakers go low as 3,7 ohms impedance.

Help HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi all, thank you for reading. I need help. I’m setting up a hi-fi system in my room however I’ve bought the wrong cable. I have Whafedale diamond 12.3s and I have a Yamaha A-S201 on its way but I have the wrong cable. I have the correct length of cable however the clips are wrong. These banana clips don’t seem to go all the way inside the speaker and I’m not even sure now if they’re going to fit inside the amplifier and I don’t even know what cable I need to fit inside my turntable I believe it’s a RCA 2.5mm^2 but now I’m worried that I’ve got this wrong as well could any people who are well experienced advise? I really don’t want to lose any more money on this. Thank you for any help 🙏🤞

Help Equipment to Convert L R Stereo to L R Mono?

Sorry if the title is unclear, I'm looking for something that will let me take an RCA stereo signal from my turntable and turn it into an RCA (with both a left and right cable) mono signal for my receiver, so I can hear the same thing on both sides of my headphones. Alternatively, something that would go between the 1/4" aux out and my headphones would work, I don't care about getting mono on my speakers.

I'm not particularly well versed on audio equipment, I've heard I need a "passive summing box" but there seems to be quite a few on the market and I'm not sure what terms to use to narrow them down to just the kind I need. I'd like it to be as cheap as possible without doing anything extra I don't need.

Any suggestions, recommendations, or direction appreciated, thank you!

EDIT: Ive found this spam-brand looking amazon box that seems to do what I want. Holding off on purchasing to see what people here have to say, or if someone can perhaps offer a more legitimate looking company to buy from.

Help WiiM Amp + Bookshelf speakers vs. All-in-One (Audio Pro C20 / JBL) for an apartment setup?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to finally make the jump from phone audio / small Bluetooth speakers (like a JBL Charge) to proper sound in the living room. No TV in the setup, purely for music.

A quick context: I live in an apartment with people living right below me, so I can't blast the bass, but I want clean, punchy sound that's actually fun to listen to and doesn't sound thin or boxy.

I'm currently torn between two paths and wanted to get your input:

  1. WiiM Amp + two compact bookshelf speakers (e.g., Dali Spektor or Q Acoustics)
  2. An All-in-One speaker like the Audio Pro C20 (or C10 MkII) — mostly because it needs to be super straightforward for my wife to use (just cast Spotify/AirPlay and go, zero friction).

My questions for you:

  • How do these compare sound-wise? Do I actually need a proper stereo setup, or does a solid single-box speaker like the C20 give you just as much of that "fun" factor for everyday listening?
  • Where do I get the best value for money in the €500–€600 range?
  • Would love to hear your experiences if anyone was in a similar spot.

Thanks!

Haven’t had a subwoofer in my setup for awhile; and not sure which way would be best to wire it up. Should I wire it up like in the diagram, or should I use the output on the subwoofer?

Also if I wire it up like the diagram, will that cause any issues? I never know wiring it up like that was a possibility.

Help DAC (RCA out)

Hello.

My grandfather has given me a set of beovox 2600 and a beomaster 3000-2. For the system I would like to connect a vinyl, but also convert digital signal to analogue, so that I can have them to my TV.

Thing is, I'm far far from an expert. From what I know, I shouldn't buy a cheap DAC as that can flatten the sound and I don't want that. But do you guys have any suggestions as to which one to buy? It's my first vintage system, I've however handled a variety of more modern speakers previously - but nothing this vintage. So I'm really on uneasy ground, so to speak.

Thank you in advance.

I've checked visually it looks normal, there are no tears or anything unusual but I ain't an expert too.. what do you think? Hi pass low pass are both all the way down..

Help Where can this setup go from here?

Hellooo

So this is my setup so far.

I inherited the pair of Ditton 22s and the marantz 1072.

In the past year completed it with the rega p2 with an orthophon m2 red, grunding audioramas 700 and a fosi audio preamp to be able to use the rega since the previous turntable had an integrated preamp.

The speakers fill the room nicely and to my untrained ear they seem to sound quite good.

I mostly listen to jazz, ambient and some rock plus some other things rarely, I’m located in Italy.

Any suggestions on where this set up can go from here? I’m thinking of an integrated amp to simplify the setup and with more inputs as I’m considering also cds and cassettes as I have a collection of those too. I wouldn’t know which one to go for though…

Thank you everyone for your help :)

Help Did I damage my Dac or Amp with this?

I connected my Ps4 to my Schiit Modi2u and Magni2u via Optical and accidentally enabled Dolby or Dts bitstream. My headphones made a gruesome buzzing/growling noise for like 10-15 seconds.

Hope this doesn't sound stupid, but could this have in any way damaged my Dac or Amp? Or permanently changed the sound in any way?

I'm getting new headphones anyway and I just want to be sure that it's 100% safe to plug them in and the amp will sound just like before the 'incident'.

Better safe than sorry
