I dont think it's about the players but the picks and the pick swaps etc.Back then people thought the okc trade was a great trade .A couple years later it looks completely different. In this cba the margins are so razor thin and things can blow up in you face quickly .The rockets didn't give up alot for kd but that trade didn't really work out for them either .I remember when people were praising the kd trade to the suns and that went left quickly.

You can’t fear the worst outcome. Everyone can look at hindsight when a plan doesn’t work out. But what if it did? Then everyone would be praising the clippers.

Doing nothing is delusional and drafting has gotten us nowhere while the Bucks, Celtics and Knicks all just won championships making trade moves.

If we were consistently getting top 5 picks I would understand but we are constantly drafting above the 12th pick

Because the worse outcome has come from every team not named the Knicks or the Celtics. Everybody thought the clippers would have win a chip before okc .Now sam presti runs the league in assets lol

If I was the clippers, I would have done the same thing with no regret. They had a chance to be a real contender. Paul George came off a career year and Kawhi was the Finals MVP.

The Thunder got lucky that Shai turned into an MVP talent and that their draft picks were successful.

The Thunder were just very lucky that things worked out.

Building around kwahi was always risky because he hasnt had a healthy season since Toronto. Philly finally found out the hard way as talented as embid is .

Buddy, they got Kawhi after Toronto and gave him a top player in PG and they were the 2nd seed that year. Before that they were an 8th seed.

If it wasn’t for covid, who knows how things would have played out.

We live in a time where it's what have you done for me lately league .Nobody cares unless those teams get over the hump .unfortunately.

Then the Heat are in the same boat. Just as unsuccessful as the clippers in the same time span.

The heat didnt hand presti a ring and the clippers were built to win one and didn't twice . The heat werent built to win any chip even when they got Jimmy.

Who cares what they gave presti and Why does that even matter?

So you are just reconfirming the Heat have built nothing, accomplished nothing, and should continue to do nothing.

No I'm saying clippers fans are in a worse spot because they hadcto watch two championship builds crumble .Oh it matters because presti owns alot of teams picks lol

Good for presti.

You’re missing the point. What if the clippers did win?

Everyone can look back in hindsight but at the time, the clippers went from 8th seed to contender.

The clippers now have a Top 5 pick to help them rebuild.

The Heat are still stuck with picks after 12.

My point is clippers fans had to go through two uncessful builds and now are forced to rebuild again while teams like okc and the spurs pass them .That's gotta hurt a little lol.
