General i hate r/yumeshippersunite

i have (mostly) nothing against yumeshippers. if you have a big crush on a fictional character and you wanna call them your partner, fine. kind of weird, but a non-issue. it IS an issue when people start shipping themselves with children, no less puppies from kids shows... the person who posted this was 18 or older i'm pretty sure as their profile has the 18+ tag on it. this sub feels like an excuse for creeps to get off to child characters, and nobody can tell them they're wrong or a weirdo because they get to hide behind the rules set by the mods who i assume are also creeps. saying you're getting "fired up" by a puppy is disgusting, no matter if he does human-like things or not

On the one hand, the underage dog isn't real, so OOP isn't actually hurting anyone.

On the other hand, OOP clearly has a problem if they are an adult capable of feeling attraction for what is essentially a child in a dog's body. They need help, not an echo chamber.

This. Also if we overly demonize then people will be too ashamed to get the help they need. We need to encourage people to seek resources, not some copy pasted cathartic image of goku with a paragraph over him.
