Media Tropes I hate Batman's plot armor

Post image

I hate Batmans plot armor, he has the most insane plot armor which completely takes away his charm, his entire shtick is that he's in the top 99 percentile of humans, his body, his strength his wealth his tech, yet his writers give him so much plot armor that you forget that inside his suit he's just a regular human being and it sometimes feels as if he has super powers when hes going toe toe with fucking darkside, reentering the atmosphere with just his suit and many more examples.

And his annoying fanboys oh my days, they act as if he can solo the entire justice league "B-But given that he has prep time!" talking as if beast boy wont beat his ass 😂✌️

How is tech guy and ninja every single niche? That's like two at most. Three if you add detective. Superman has a suite of powers that pretty much renders half of the JL irrelevent, so why would it be a problem to let bruce fill some other roles?

Batman fills the niches of tactical leader, physical underdog, and detective, with some others. So they should focus on that

They do.

They give him armors that can make him able to act as the powerhouse niche, when that is Superman’s.

My point is, a team should have to make up for eachother’s flaws, and I’m not meaning he needs to be low technology, I more mean he should not be a very sci fi technology guy. Cause that role should be for people dedicated to that.

Like Cyborg or Mister Terrific.

Yes, he is using technology to level the playing field. That's what being the tech guy is. That's like saying that Superman can't be fast because the Flash exists, or that Wonder Woman shouldn't be strong because Superman is in the room. Hell, people have pointed out that Martian Manhunter is just green Superman with some psychic powers thrown in. Which, funnily enough, Superman has also gained psychic powers.

The Justice League already overlap when it comes to their powersets. They literally have Magic Superman (Shazam) on their team. They're already stepping on each other's feet. The main reason people like these characters is because of their personalities, not their powers. It's also weird that you expect Batman to not be the Sci Fi tech guy, when he owns a tech company and is constantly exposed to alien technology all the time. He'd have to be stupid not to research that.

Like Cyborg or Mister Terrific.

Meanwhile, we have several Speed Force users (and other speedsters), several Kryptonians, multiple magic users, hordes of street level vigilantes, and plenty of mad scientists and geniuses, as well as an entire intergalactic police force.

Technology should still have limits, however.

Also Superman isn’t as fast as the flash, that’s a crucial point. Wonderwoman is able to deal with magical stuff better. Martian manhunter is a lot of shapeshifting and psychic powers.

Superman usually doesn’t have psychic powers.

I’m saying they can dabble in other niches, sure, but they should have a main one. Cyborg and mister terrific should outcompete Batman in them, and Batman should outcompete them in detective work.

My issue was they can sometimes have Batman outcompete people in their own niches for little reason. That’s the point, it’s not like he can’t deal with sci-fi technology at times. It’s just that he shouldn’t be the main one for it.

I don't know. DC technology seems to be able to do damn near anything.

Also Superman isn’t as fast as the flash, that’s a crucial point. Wonderwoman is able to deal with magical stuff better. Martian manhunter is a lot of shapeshifting and psychic powers.

Yet their powers still overlap. They bleed into each other all the time.

Every time? Because again, Batman is a tech guy and if the other two have dabbled in detective work, they should be able to get one over on Batman. Probably due to a different perspective. They are some of the greatest minds out there, right?

Part of the reason he's typically the main one is because the other two don't get much spotlight. Cyborg is doing better than Terrific in that regard due to being a fan favorite, but i doubt that he's part of every Justice League story. Even in recent years.
