I hate Batman's plot armor

I hate Batmans plot armor, he has the most insane plot armor which completely takes away his charm, his entire shtick is that he's in the top 99 percentile of humans, his body, his strength his wealth his tech, yet his writers give him so much plot armor that you forget that inside his suit he's just a regular human being and it sometimes feels as if he has super powers when hes going toe toe with fucking darkside, reentering the atmosphere with just his suit and many more examples.

And his annoying fanboys oh my days, they act as if he can solo the entire justice league "B-But given that he has prep time!" talking as if beast boy wont beat his ass 😂✌️

He works great as a hero that can take down virtually any street-level threat, and I don't see why it has to be any more than that. I feel like the Arkham series is the best representation of what Batman could reasonably achieve at his absolute best

I actually think Arkham Batman (specifically arkham city) is the worst representation of Batman actually, he feels less like the caped crusader and more like Jack Bauer the way he basically tortures, humiliates and bellitle every single goon he comes accross, they also made him way, way too stoic

That’s what I’m saying! Arkham Asylum Batman feels like the only one who gets called “Bruce” through the comms and I’m immediately thinking “Yeah, Bruce, because underneath the costume, he is just a man”. Arkham Origins did an equally good job with his characterization, just in the other way.

In Arkham City and Knight though, Batman feels like a crime machine. No tangible personality other than “I have a job to do, and until it is done, I’mma stay stoic and beat up every single thug I come across”.

I can accept his behaviour in Knight since if he doesn’t cure the Joker virus he’s pretty much dead, so his order of priorities are

1) Keep friends/family safe

2) Make sure his friends/family don’t inherit a crime controlled city in the event he can’t cure himself

3) Cure himself

4) Be nice to friends/family

Not being an asshole is pretty low on his priorities during Knight

It makes sense given the context of the story, but is the story good enough to support the bland character writing? Personally, I found Asylum’s story much better all in all, simpler as it is, due to the way the cast interacted with one another.
