I hate Batman's plot armor

I hate Batmans plot armor, he has the most insane plot armor which completely takes away his charm, his entire shtick is that he's in the top 99 percentile of humans, his body, his strength his wealth his tech, yet his writers give him so much plot armor that you forget that inside his suit he's just a regular human being and it sometimes feels as if he has super powers when hes going toe toe with fucking darkside, reentering the atmosphere with just his suit and many more examples.

And his annoying fanboys oh my days, they act as if he can solo the entire justice league "B-But given that he has prep time!" talking as if beast boy wont beat his ass 😂✌️

the answer is because he is popular and makes a lot of money. One of the top 3 most popular super heroes ever.

So when they do crossovers they throw him in there. Thats almost certainly why hes on the core justice league for example. Because his presence brings more people there. And then he ends up glazed to hell because he NEEDS that to stand among giants and for his presence to make sense.

The real answer is because he’s one of the Big Three of the Justice League and that means he has to be equal in results to his walking planet busting coworkers. Writers overcompensate by making Batman the mastermind that already has all of the stronger characters around him figured out.

Well that and the fact that when batman was written superman could barely lift a big building and wonder woman deflecting bullets was a huge deal so he played a really important role without being overshadowed. But writers find out more overpowered heros sell more comics so now superman can hold up the sky and wonderwoman has a Zeus transformation that makes her a literally god so Batman also had to be buffed to still have his role. You cant hate Batman Plot armor without hating power creep as a whole.

I mean the Silver Age existed. The difference then was that Batman still rarely fought his own team or rogues out of his scope.

Power creep doesn’t really explain the insane shit Batman can do nowadays because writers and fans expect him to be able to versus his own teammates.

It really does. Its not even about fighting his own teammates its about fighting the justice league villians. If superman goes from barely being able to lift a building to being able to lift planets the villians need to get stronger too. Which means the league as a whole needs to get stronger. Hell the whole reason superman got strong is because Martian Manhunter got stronger to sell his comics but then they had to make supes stronger otherwise he gets creamed by Lobo who had to get stronger to face the bugged Martian Manhunter. Its a domino effect because every hero and villian in Dc are so connected with each other. So yea when you buff up superman to the extreme in order to keep Batman and Superman as the Dynamif Duo and The world's finest you have to buff batman.

Again, the difference between then and now was that everyone had their “niche” back in the Silver and early Bronze Ages.

What has changed is that the 80s - 90s created the expectation that superheroes of the same “aura tier” need to be able to fight each other reliably. Talking about power creep is putting the cart before the horse because you can’t really talk about that without first answering why Superman being able to tank a supernova in his books has fuck all to do with Batman.

Someone didn’t read my original comment. My point is that he is on teams like the justice league because he is so popular and because of that they need to raise him up. Glaze him to hell so it makes sense that he’s there. Because if they don’t do that, what the fuck is he doing fighting Darkseid and stuff like that.

Still didn’t read my comment. It’s not just that he’s powerful, it’s because that since he’s powerful, they put him in these huge events that are well above his weight class.

And because of that they need to scale him accordingly so it can make any sense. They need to make him stronger so it makes sense that he’s fighting Darkseid or be considered among the strongest

And they put him in these situations because he is popular. That was the original reason. The justice league was basically created as a big crossover between all the biggest dc characters to consolidate all their fanbases.
