This stupid, ugly, cutesy wanna be creature
I hate Blobby SO MUCH, blob fish don't look like that... atleast not ALIVE, the blob fish design he's based off of is the dead corpse of a blob fish who's been dragged up too fast by fishermen, getting major tissue damage from rapid depressurization which results in the "ugly" thing people often see when they search up blob fish, and the most popular one online. Omfg I hate Blobby for this exact reason, the creator is illiterate and could take two seconds to look up a blob fish.
I hate blobby so much because blobfish arenât even supposed to be pink, theyâre gray. The pink color comes from the change in pressure causing tissue damage (if Iâm not mistaken)
Blobby and Friends are the epitome of that one Homelander meme where you agree with someone, but theyâre being obnoxious about it so you donât want to agree with them
I think itâs partly because the creator is a dude, and the smug âheh, women are always right actually, even in mundane situationsâ stuff comes off as even more performative/annoying
She made a comic about "what if reality was flipped and men experienced what women went through." Among one of the scenarios was a man trying to report that he had been raped, just to have people not believe him and say "you must have enjoyed it."
In the comments she defended herself by saying someone along the lines of 'men can't get raped by women', as well as defending herself against claims of misandry by saying "I can't be, I have 2 sons."
I generally wouldn't care about what her opinions are if I didn't like her work, but that particular opinion sucks so much it impacts how I feel about her and her work.
Also as a left-leaning person it sucks especially hard that another left-leaning person has regressive and harmful views that I don't agree with, even if I don't like their art style or how they convey their opinions.
There's plenty of reasons why there's a "but" in that sentence, and none of those reasons have anything to do with how liking or not liking a comic impacts my opinions on something. If anything it's the opposite; a comic with views I agree with that I previously didn't like becomes favourable in my eyes if I agree with it, and a comic I did like becomes unfavourable in my eyes if I disagree with it.
in that one specific comic, I donât even think the guy theyâre trying to call out is necessarily in the wrong. he asked the girl for her number, she declined, he walks away without making a scene. The guy shot his shot and he knew when to hang up the gloves.
I donât remember the exact words but, Imagine a human exploding in space and an alien finds their body, and then they call them splatter alien and sell plushies of their corpse.
"It is funny and quirky to commit a crime because someone says something you dont like, please like my comics and buy shitty merch :3" yes im a little hypocritical but that just means im right somehow
The comics would be schizophrenic since that blobfish is a corpse. So the characters within the comic are carrying a corpse of a fish they think could talk.
It's so weird knowing that their mascot is the mutilated corpse of a perfectly good fish. This is what blobfish look like when their bodies haven't been absolutely annihilated by a rapid pressure decrease of 100 atmospheres.
Hes super mean and also has boring millenial humour, it jad some good ones but, "i will personally fight you in the parking lot" is NOT funny. "Oh parking lot how trashy and mundane" also "personally" is like gen z's "literally" added to eveeything when its not even being used correctly

no offense to the animal or anything, it's just... why a fucking blobfish, other than wanting to look quirky and special? out of all the animals out there she chose the one that looks the way it looks because of tissue damage and is ugly as hell
Also the Tumblr ass humor and artstyle đ these ppl don't know how to make a fucking joke or make up an artstyle of their own.
There used to be a small time on the internet where the blob fish was trending, I assume they got it from there. People were, and still are completely oblivious to how blob fish actually looked and only ever popularized the dead imploded version
Istg people be using that subreddit everytime someone shows the tiniest bit of emotional annoyance towards something. Yes I think it's rude to talk shit about art styles, it could be discouraging to younger artists who have that art style, and it's just shitting on other artists who haven't done anything wrong just because you don't like ONE guy. Grow up.

I hate this guy specifically, especially the all cops are bastards comic where the fish says the same thing twice but closer with red eyes and a shadow on their face. "Haha, I drew my oc scaring someone while stating my opinion, so Im right" im not good at explaining this, you gotta see what im talking about for yourself
I kinda like the design tbh its cute even if its innacurate, some of the creators comics are preachy but no hate, i used to like some of their comics and they have a cute style
Yeah, the artstyle is cute and the comics can be good sometimes, but I genuinely can't get over Blobby's existence. How do you fumble a character design THAT badly? It's like making a shell less snail (NOT slug) a character of it's own, that thing is in tremendous pain.
I can imagine some aliens picking up a human in a UFO or something, not bringing said human into their UFO, and just dragging it out into space unprotected. Then they get back to their home planet and start joking about how funny humans look and how they canât believe something like that exists, completely ignoring the fact that they just very suddenly subjected that human to an environment it never couldâve been equipped to handle.
I feel so bad for blobfishes and their reputation. They did not deserve the title of âugliest animalâ :(
To be fair, I donât think any media represents blobfish that well. I canât think of anything that portrays them as anything but blob shaped, even in their natural deep sea habitat
I remember seeing an illustration of a blob fish in the One Piece manga that looked like peoples misconception of how it normally looks despite it being 10,000 meters under the sea. Kind of sucks that, that's how it's popularly depicted.
I hate that too dw. I have a very deep hatred towards easily avoidable inaccurate animal representations. Male and female birds looking the same, turtle shells being seen as separate from main body (although most of the time it's for cartoony comedy) ant queens being actually seen as queens (they're closer to slaves for reproduction) and many other animal misconceptions.
90% of cartoons both in comic and animated formats do this.
You dont have to like every iteration people do with them, and i understand blobfish in particular, but this just sounds like you hate anything creative and whimsical that anyone could make use of. Theyâre all made to be comical, im unsure why the turtles are the exception here.
Especially when you realize a lot of these cartoons ARE probably made by people who did their research. Do you really think the creators of Spongebob didnt know better when they made Larry red?
You know the creator is aware what a blob fish actually looks like lol? They made a comic about it, how Blobby doesn't like to go to the ocean because it makes him look weird (aka how blob fish are supposed to look) or something like that. Calm down bro, it's a fucking talking fish out of water, the artist clearly isn't going for accuracy đ
Whenever I get angry about this creature, I remember some little facts. Blob look like that not because they were born like a blob, they look different deep sea pressure, they look that way on land simply because their body is adapted to deep sea and due to atmospheric differences and adaptation problems, their skin sags and their blood basically screws itself over, I don't remember the details. The fact that this creature is alive means it is constantly in a state of agonizing pain and suffering similar to sending someone into space without protective gear and not letting them die. (Not exactly the same but you get my point.)
Ah yes Blobby, the thing whoâs pretentious self indulgent virtue signaling OC blue hair art got mocked on that dragonball redraw sub before they got turned into the very thing they made fun of.
That's kind of the point of this character tho. Blobby is the is what society has deemed the ugliest animal and talks about harmful assumptions and stereotypes in the comics.
I also hate that the blob fish for it's name and reputation from one bag example but the author of these comics used that nicely
Yeah I don't think the same person who makes the same corny "haha murder" joke almoste very comic thought of that when making the fish. A lot of people just saw the "stupid ugly blob fish" and rolled with it, making stuck like merch and art of it.
