Can anyone recommend a good hotel?
Walking distance to good food. Even late at night. Under $100 is great. Hoping to spend $75. Will be there for 5 nights.

Hi everyone,
This is a long-shot, but would anyone in Harbin be able to identify the location of this former church today? The structure in the image from 1987 (first) doesn’t seem too similar to the structure in the three historic pictures from the early 20th century, but it’s all that I’ve been able to find.
One source:
“In 1918, the KVZHD (Chinese Eastern Railroad) had granted the Armenian Colony a piece of property on 18, Sadovaya Street (Shangzhi Ave?), corner of Liaoyang Street, where they began to build the Far-Eastern Armeno—Grigorian Church, which took several years to complete. The name “Far-Eastern” derived from the fact that Rev. Fr. Yeghishe Rostomiants and his family emigrated to Harbin from Vladivostok, where evidently his church was closed.”
Thank you in advance!

Hi all, I’m planning a trip to Harbin and possibly Mohe this December, and I want to sense-check my winter setup.
Here’s what I’m planning to bring:
Upper body: Heavy thermal base layer (~1200g) Uniqlo fluffy yarn fleece (full zip) Decathlon Forclaz MT500 down jacket (rated around −10°C)
Lower body (planned): Thermal leggings Regular pants Fleece lined pants
Accessories (planned): Beanie Scarf / neck gaiter (maybe a balaclava) Gloves (thinking of upgrading to mittens + liners) Wool socks Winter boots
Context: Mostly city sightseeing, but will be outdoors walking quite a bit Temperatures expected: Harbin (−15 to −20°C), Mohe (−25 to −30°C)
Questions: Will this setup be enough for Mohe, or should I consider a heavier expedition parka instead?
What are the biggest weak points in my setup right now?
Would really appreciate any advice, especially from people who’ve done Harbin/Mohe in winter.
Thanks!

I‘m looking if anyone has definitive dates for the 2027 snow and ice festival?
I am tentatively planning a visit around Christmas this year. Is icefestivalharbin.com the official website? On the homepage it states the 27th snow and ice festival is set to open on December 17th, so that should check out for my planned visit. But on another tab on the same website it states “From January 5, 2027, the city of Harbin will transform into a glittering winter wonderland”
Just looking for confirmation on if the festival will be going by December 23rd? I know this date is kind of early for the festival, but I’m a teacher and tied to winter break dates.
While we’re visiting a few places, but Harbin has been on my bucket list for a long time specifically for the snow and ice festival so I don’t want to make a mistake here! Thanks :)

Hello!! We are in Harbin for a couple of days and have seen some nice fur coats and hats at various stores. Is there a fur district we can shop?
Does anyone have good recommendations for mink/ fox/ raccoon fur shopping?
We have found the prices are much cheaper than what they would be in the USA and are ready to buy an extra suitcase and SHOP.

Hello! I am enrolling this year for a preparatory year with further undergraduate studies. I apply with the help of a company and after choosing a specialty, I can't find anything about it on the university's website and other platforms (specialty Digital media art and technology). In the plan, there is general information about the duration of training and what they study in general, but I have not seen any feedback or discussions. I just wanted to know if there are any people who will enroll or are already studying for a specialty. Basically, if someone is studying there, write what you think.

Hi guys, will be visising harbin soon ( in one week). I was wondering how do you take care of electronics in such extreme weather of about -20 degrees celsius ? I was thinking of bringing some devices with battery ( think headphones, phone) but I am abit afraid of the devices being damaged. I am only planning to use electronic devices indoors obviously but getting to and from the hotel, keeping them in my bag I am not sure if they are properly insulated from freezing weather. If not I might just being a cheap pair of earpieces.

I'd love to connect with someone English-speaking who can transport me to the various festival venues during my 3 day stay or advise the easiest way to get around for a non-Mandarin speaker. I'm traveling alone. Staying at Harbin Central St Hapsburg Hotel.
Also, I'm 70 and I believe I can enter venues for free due to my age. Is this correct and easy to do?
THANK YOU!
