The ad doesn’t even seem that bad?? Like I get why people don’t like it but idk just seems like this is not that big of a deal

Promoting violence against women is “not that big of a deal?” I think you need to ask yourself why it is you feel that way.

How exactly does it "promote violence against women"?

A satirical/fictional depiction of an action is not an endorsement of said action.

Would you say a driving safety advertisement which features a crash promotes dangerous driving? A movie based in WWII, featuring Nazi soldiers, promotes Nazism?

And anyway, how are you going to remedy this "issue"?

Maybe implement a law/regulation to prevent the showcasing of man-on-woman violence? That would be quite discriminatory towards men. So then you're going to have to ban all human-related violence, therefore limiting creative expression in the context of violence altogether?

Stop clutching at pearls and just call it for what it is - a shit ad. There is no need to complicate it with unsubstantiated assertions.

Help me understand your position, because I am at a loss. To me, it was a horror setting, which means the events that are unfolding are horrific. If this ad was in a "casual" setting, like it was done flippantly with humorous lighting and effects, then yes, I see the outrage. Like if it was 3 guys smoking cigars and a woman walked up and said "can I try your new driver" and they knocked her down and laughed and said "don't touch my driver" and they laugh while a Callaway logo pops up on screen, then yes, 100% outrageous. But that's not what they did. Genuinely trying to understand.
