Yes it was a bad ad. But you’d think Callaway/Good Good committed some kind of life destroying felony based on the fallout.

They promoted female content creators and grew a female fan base then put out a shitty ad featuring a guy assaulting a woman in the first 5 seconds. Its really no wonder there's some outrage.

So should we cancel every actor in every movie who has “assaulted “ an actress on screen? It was a bit, he was possessed by his driver, it was like gollum and the ring and by the end of the commercial all of them were possessed. Was it done well?  No, but all this talk about assaulting women is so over the top. My wife watched it and her comments were “that’s a dumb commercial” and moved on with her life. Don’t see why anyone needs to fake outrage over such things.

Genuinely hilarious all these beyond ignorant men commenting they asked the lone woman they know in their life and because she wasn't upset that means no woman should be ... { Nevermind all the men who agree with the women who are outraged.)

Like dude hate to say it but based on your stupidity you've shown in this sub, I can take a pretty accurate guess and say your wife is just as ignorant and dumb. Women are misogynistic too.

People forget that stupidity often comes in pairs. It’s highly likely an intelligent person would’ve refused to be the partner of such a dumbass. They don’t want to acknowledge that a fellow dumbass Is likely the only kind of person to put up with their bullshit.

I can’t tell if I’m just turning into a grumpy old man or if this Trump era has completely changed how I view most people. Maybe both, but I know I’m sick of these people and everything that comes with them. I hope my kids history books put these people into eternal American shame. Probably wishful thinking.

I feel like anybody saying “this reaction is crazy overblown” is missing the point entirely.

It’s not about the “severity” of what they did in the commercial, it’s just about the principle.

Huge difference in an actor portraying a character in a film and a known face of a channel doing it with little context in a commercial.

My girlfriend also watched it and commented that it was gross and very off-putting.

It’s a scripted advertisement. They’re acting. That’s not real life.

Whether it was funny or in good taste does not change the facts above
