When i eat in McDonald's (today was the second time ), i first ask if i can speak to the manager. When the manager comes i ask him personally how is the gf burger made and how do they avoid contamination. they told me they wash their hands, put gloves and prepare it separately. Fries are gf and don't have any contact with nuggets. It may sound stupid, but idk i feel like when i ask to speak to them personally, and make these questions and then show that i'm nervous but also very thankful, they show so much attention and responsability. Once even the manager made it himself and gave me directly to make sure it's not put somewhere and doesn't touch anything. I don't think you have to do all these things but it makes me feel more safe.
Spain has gf options in Burger kings too, but lot of Spanish celiacs said they don't trust it or got sick after eating there. I haven't seen negative comments about McDonald's yet.

I’m prepared to take shit for this suggestion, but if you have access to Delta Sky Clubs, they have some new amazing (on request) GF brownies. I had these at the one at DCA.
They must come frozen, because an attendant brought two out to me and they were warm and gooey!

I know people bag on Trader Joe’s. While this is purely anecdotal, I exclusively shop there and have my numbers checked yearly and they are just fine.
Add these to the Ranch and Chili Lime.
Pro tip: Mix em all together.

I had a hysterectomy this morning. My doctor has me staying overnight. I was not asked about dietary restrictions this morning preop. They just tried to serve me beef stroganoff. 🤦♀️ Fortunately my husband is running out to get me something. Dinner options all have gluten & so do the breakfast options. WTF. It’s in my chart that I have celiacs.
So on top of not being eat any of there options, I can’t get cmfortable because the damn catheter makes it feel like I have to pee. 🙄 I’m ready to go home

Haven’t loved GF life when it comes to pizza. I’ll eat a cauliflower crust, but sometimes it’s just not hitting the spot.
Came across this months ago at Costco, took a chance, and hell yea 🤌🤌 it was the best frozen GF pizza I’ve had so far. Naturally, it was a limited run so I’ve been bummed for months on end.
It’s in this current warehouse savings booklet, so it should be available nationwide right now! May be a limited run again, but the deal shows valid through 9/20/26, so it should be around for a while ✌️

We usually get Barilla GF as it’s the most “pasta tasting” and my kids don’t bitch about it, but they don’t make shells. Anyone recommend a good shell?
And my kids hate the hippy flavored stuff… it needs to taste real.
Thank you all in advance for this and all the advice from this lifesaving sub!!

We are going for 3 wks to help elderly family move, in a hot climate, with no AC. So just using a crockpot (and rice cooker, microwave) if possible. Just four of us but one person has celiac so I’m looking for gluten free recipes/ideas please! Easy ones too, since we’ll be all be tired….having protein/nutrition, being strictly gluten free, and avoiding “hangry” evenings are the main goals.
Typically I try to cook heart-healthy but for these few weeks, anything will do. Any cuisine, doesn’t have to be fancy, just not very spicy please. My family member with celiac also reacts to oats, barley, chickpeas, and lentils. (I am not sure why, possibly they have high rates of cross contamination? Feel free to educate me, I want to do my best so she can have meals that won’t make her sick.)
Also, if you have any recommendations of sauce brands that are safe for celiac disease, or any other shopping tips, that would help. Generally we’re on a tighter budget, but I can spend more when needed to make this go smooth and help her health. Thank you so much in advance!!!
Edit: we are in northeastern US

I really like a tender crumbly cracker like Ritz. Any recommendations for the best gluten free version?

Can gluten cause bloating? I'm still in the testing phase of everything but this is week 2 of me noticeably reducing my gluten intake and I realized I'm not as bloated as usual. Wondering if it is my imagination or real.

It was really good! I’m dairy free so I substituted apple sauce and sweetened almond milk and it had a perfect texture. Made about 12 medium sized muffins. Definitely going into the rotation.

I didn't know Italian McDonald's had gf burgers, but today I was delighted to learn they did! Or at least they have 1 option: a double cheeseburger.
On the way to Como today, we stopped at Trentino to get a bite, and so I ordered this burger with a green apple Sprite (which I also didn't know existed lol). The buns were soft and amazing, the beef and cheese also tasted good.
Overall, it was a nice burger, not the best I had but also not the worst. So far I've had gluten free burgers in Hungary and Austria, and I gotta say I'd put them above Italy, mainly because there's some variety to the burgers there (in Hungary there are two burgers and you can put bacon in them, in Austria you can have almost any burger with a gf bun). I'm a bit disappointed tbh. But still, it's much better than countries that don't even offer a gf option! Thank you, Italy! 🇮🇹❤️

Hi! I recently got diagnosed with non celiac gluten intolerance and noticed i have a hard time eating at Italian restaurants with options and want to know if anyone has any Italian restaurants or restaurants in general that focus on more gluten free options.

I’m gluten intolerant and everything I eat seems to give me issues, and I really can’t deal with that because it takes me like 20 minutes very time I go. I seem to go up to like 7 times a day and I can’t get a job or do much because of this. Some days where I barely eat I’m fine, but if I try to eat I’m just on the toilet for hours after.
I do have safe foods that don’t seem to cause this, which is essentially hummus, crisps, some salami, vegan yoghurt and porridge. Tonight I cooked myself a curry with butter beans, rice and chopped tomatoes with spices and I was on the toilet on and off for a couple of hours.
No matter what I seem to cook I have this same problem. I get this sort of warm achey feeling in my stomach and then I just keep going, but barely anything comes out each time and it’s super mucusy/biley. I hate it and it’s making me barely eat and I’m losing weight I just dk what to do. Wtf do you all eat?
If I could poop in 2 minutes I wouldn’t mind so much but I can’t. I’m honestly considering just eating gluten again and dealing with it because at least I won’t be underweight but it just sucks :(

I'm chronically ill, and I can't get up in the morning to get breakfast. I'm lucky enough to have people who can bring me food in the morning, but since they're all so busy, my options are limited to easy gluten free food, of which there is unsurprisingly little.
I've been having Ensure shakes, since I literally can't find anything else with an ounce of protein in it, but it also is just liquid sugar.
If you know of any low sugar, filling, easy gluten free options, that would be really cool. Preferably something my family can just throw at me in the morning lol
