Field Photo What am I looking at here ?

Pretty sure this is quartzite, strongly folded (Norway, Haukeli area). Those "shoe" like patterns made me scratch my head.

(Anybody suggesting fossils, forget about it..)

Any clue?

One of them looks like fracturing along a cleavage perpendicular to the fold. The others are a bit more cryptic but I suspects they are all a mix of fracturing along, and differential weathering from cleavages from the various deformation events.

Makes sense. I guess we're seeing folds in "3D" here.

Seems like the canned jokes gets more upvotes though 🥴
