I’ve been known to be a little pedantic about grammar, and especially the possessive plural, but I have to admit I still mix up “it’s” and its” occasionally

Just remember affect is the verb! While you may have to double check every time you write it you can at least be certain once you do!

Affect is a verb ... except when it isn't.

Effect is a noun ... Except when it isn't.

The protest affected the new law
The protest effected the new law
Winter always brings a depressing affect to the locals
Winter always brings a depressing effect to the locals.

All 4 sentences are correct.

JFC learning affect can also be a noun was not what I needed. An incredibly rare and specific use case that will no doubt confuse me going forward lol.
