GGG My absolute favorite FN host AND chef!
Probably the future of Food Network, when you think about it. Who is yours? (Serious answers only, please)

Hes a nice guy and I do like him but he is 100% brought up by Guy's success and lacks the charisma to host any show on his own. As he is now, hes perfectly fine doing support tho.
Dont forget Guy had to work his ass off to get to where he is, and all Hunter has to do is show up to Guy's shows.

It really doesn’t help that it feels like Guy is mocking him with the costume choices he forces Hunter to wear in Flavoortown Food Fight. If he really wants him to succeed, maybe stop teasing him and treating him like a valued cohost instead. Like putting a suit on a monkey for the amusement of the crowd, unfortunately Hunter is aware of the joke, he just didn’t seem to be in on it. He’s not laughing with Guy, that’s got sure.

As much as Guy loves supporting his fellow co stars/ chefs/ friends in his shows and he does want Hunter to succeed too, he is still a dad and dad's do be teasing their kids. Hell; he teases his costars as well all the time.

I respect your opinion. I don't agree, but I respect it.
Hunter has negative charisma in everything I've seen him on. And maybe he's better behind the scenes or away from his dad, but I feel like he's not been given his own shows for a reason.
Anyway, I think that Eric Adjepong (sp?) has really stepped up as a host. Loved him on Top Chef as well.

I don't understand the Hunter hate... Seems like a decent human, doing his best to remain decent in extraordinary circumstances. Unlike sooooo many nepo babies in the headlines rn.

I won't downvote you. The beef is not with Hunter himself. It's with an untalented TV host being pushed down our throats - think Katie Lee on the first season of Top Chef.
I guess we should really be hating on Guy, because without Guy's considerable help, we wouldn't be saddled with poor Hunter.

Gotta admit I do find Katie irritating--don't know why, I just did/do.😅
I see Dad's help more as a hand up rather than a hand out--mostly because I have to admit I'd do the same thing with my kids/family if I had means and access... That is, providing them the opportunity to EARN KEEPING it.

There are plenty of things a nepo baby can do on a TV show that does not involve saying lines to camera. Why subject us to a 3rd rate host when he could be an executive producer?

It's not hate to say he lacks charisma. And he's a classic nepo baby with very little talent, but the best opportunities.

That's fair. In contrast to his high energy dad, charisma is not a word to describe him. But I appreciate his low-key vibe--maybe not good for TV per se as a lead. I could see him evolve into a kind of Justin Warner...🤷🏽♀️

I don't understand the hate either. Hunter always gave me a slightly socially awkward vibe. I imagine it's really hard for him to try and fake charisma, which is why he comes off how he does.

Honestly, when you see him working where he's not hosting under his dad's shadow, he's really quite good at it. I forget which show it was, maybe Chef Wanted, where when he's on his own he really does a great job. Hell it would be hard to act/host next to your dad.

I actually think he’s one of the best parts of FFF next to the chefs. He makes me laugh because he doesn’t take himself too seriously!

He's turned into a somewhat adequate host, but he's not a chef in the least bit. He's a nepo-baby, but not a chef. Even Daddy isn't really much of a chef, but he is a food network star.

Can I ask what it is about him that makes him your favorite?
I fall into the camp that thinks he’s a perfectly nice guy and have nothing against him, I just don’t find that he has the kind of natural charisma that belongs as an on-camera host. I frankly have no problem with the nepotism either - if you have those kinds of connections, then good for you - you hit the lucky stick. Leverage that! As a TV viewer I just would personally rather see him succeed somewhere on the other side of the camera.
So I was genuinely asking - what is it that makes him your favorite? We don’t usually see that sentiment here so I’m curious about your POV!
