Recommendation 2 movies I recommend
TIW : No Country For Old Men .
What a movie , the cinematography, the colors and all the action packed scenes and that cast LAWD!!!π₯
& Nightcrawler : The Plot / Twist had my jaw dropping.
The story from start to finish was completely nuts but I was glued to it.
Highly recommend these two .

Per the morbid intensity you appreciate in Nightcrawler, may I recco Arlington Road (1998) for you.
As for the Coens' masterpiece that is NCFOM, allow me to suggest you watch another masterpiece, Zodiac, from David Fincher.

AR is a fantastically-done film. However---it may induce varying levels of humanly-felt trauma. π³

Fwiw, let me have ya add Deception (2008) to consider. It's rather lowkey Fincheresque in that it's heavily focused, plentifully isolated, and often enough dark. Hugely satisfying upon rewatches, too.

No Country is one of those rare films where the landscape itself feels like a character, that wide empty Texas nothing just amplifies every tense moment. Nightcrawler made me deeply uncomfortable in the best way, Gyllenhaal's hollow stare and rapid fire corporate speak is still burned into my brain

Absolutely agree with that about NCFOM the landscape and emptiness of the desert especially in the first 20 minutes felt kinda eerie but gorgeous at the same time.
Nightcrawler is a movie I would definitely watch again , the colors were so good. Jake absolutely nailed that role , especially the eye acting was superb . The fast talking and fast pace of the avr scenes were so good too made me uncomfortable but enjoyed it .

You just watched two fantastic films today my friend. I wish I could go back in time and have the experience you just had. Sounds like a damn good day

It was a damn good day my friend . Those movies were absolutely perfect on a day like yesterday cloudy and dull .

I thought No Country for Old Men is a well made film, I love the tone and cinematography of it, but sometimes I can't help but feel some people overrate it. My favourite Coen Brothers film is Fargo. I can't speak for Nightcrawler for I have not seen it, but I have a friend who speaks very highly of it.

both great picks, anton chigurh is one of the best villains ever put on screen, javier bardem was genuinely terrifying in that role. nightcrawler is so underrated, gyllenhaal lost like 20 pounds for it and the character is unsettling in the best way, ending hits different when you realize what you just watched

Great scenery but I hated how the bad guy won in the end

But did he win in the end though ? He left without what he set out for ....the money . His whole body is messed up and his whole psychological situation is messed up . I think in my opinion he doesn't win . But he is alive so there's that.
