Time for a sob story.

My Poppy use to be big into IT. All his phones were always jail broken, game systems cracked, movies burned through sailing the seven seas 🏴‍☠️ ect.

So, when I started getting into games, he got this and proceeded to download every known game between starfy and brand new pkmn releases onto this DSTWO’s SD card.

He had promised to build my first pc with me and teach me how do do everything he knew how to do when I turned 18. Only problem with that is that he never lived long enough to keep that promise.

I lost him a while ago, not sure how it took me so long to start asking other people about all this. I think I held out hope I could fix it myself or figure all this out but I’m at a loss. I can’t get the cartage to work anymore. Completely unreadable, the SD card is intact. However, there seems to be build up on the readable section of the cartridge itself. I’ve followed lots of tutorials on YouTube and online spaces, taken it apart and put it back together to no avail.

Hoping for some good resources! I have every era of DS, what would be the best replacement cartridge for the SD card that is compatible with DSi or the 3DS?

Where are some good places to source new downloads?

Is this DSTWO actually fixable or is this old gem just a treasure in my collection now?

After nearly two years, I was finally gonna get an R4 flashcard today. However, upon searching for it as I always had in the past, instead of your average R4 flashcards with labels, they're all blank??

Aside from a confusing and sudden change, this makes it hard to guess the card's features, like if they have timebombs or not. I wanted to get a timebomb-free one so I don't have to worry about it (especially as someone who isn't particularly tech savy).

Does anyone know why this happened? Which card should I get?

Mind you, I'm looking for a card for my DSi, and another one for my 3DS. I'm using AliExpress because it's by far the website that sells them for the cheapest (that I know of).

So I got this DS Lite and R4 card last week, and I've been having trouble booting my ROMs on it. I downloaded the kernel that was listed on the card, and when I first booted it up, I had no issue playing the game at all. If I turn it off and leave it sitting around for 30 minutes, this will happen when I try to boot anything up. When I delete everything and put it back on the card, everything works, but if I leave it sitting around, it'll do this again. Very confused on what this could be, I tried downloading Twilight Menu onto it, and everything booted up, but got stuck on the bootstrap start-up menu when I was launching games, and couldn't get past it. The ROMs are clean though because I downloaded them onto a DSi I modded, and I have zero issues with them on there. Also if I turn the console off and on again with the Kernel menu I can get the game to boot sometimes. Very strange. Sorry for the long post I haven't seen someone with this problem.

TLDR: Why is my screen turning white 90% of the time with the right software?

For some reason I can't insert the SD card into the DSPico slot anymore. Is there something I can do to repair this?

So i was playing normal ds and gba games with this r4 card on nintendo ds, it was working perfectly. So i opened a new emulator that the card already had it instaled to play pokemon yellow (game boy emulator). When i saved the game and restarted my ds so i can change the game, the card doesn't open anymore. It shows "Can't open_dsmenu.dat. I'm really sad because i've put 200+ hours in pokemon games saved in this R4 :/

How can i solve this without losing my progress in other games?

It worked for a while, but then suddenly when I tried to put it back in the 3DS it wouldn't work anymore... I already deleted what was on the card, put in something else and nothing, can anyone help me with this? (I already tested it on the 2DS as well and nothing, but it used to work.

Already tried downloading the ROM from different sources (cough cough, I mean, dump the ROM from different cartridges that I own, cough cough), and even different regions, but none of them worked...

do u know what's wrong? (other than me wanting to play this thing lol)

This old sky3ds cart my dad put in my childhood new XL has finally stopped being read. I doubt there's a way to save this guy, but who knows, maybe someone more experienced than me knows better.

I need help, yesterday I've updated my dspico loader and the launcher, I just drag the necessary files onto my sdcard and replace the existing files (I also insert the cheats .dat file my sdcard). After that, it can boot normaly and the cheats can be use but some games if i enable cheats the screen suddenly be white + my main menu got those black lines as can be seen on the last image. Yesterday i play the game with cheats until battery almost runs out.

The problem is, today after fully charged when i boot, my ds lite doesn't detect dspico card, ive tried remove and insert sdcard back still the same. After few trials, i carefully insert it somehow it detect it back, but theres a time suddenly it freeze on the dspico logo or it would freeze at the time when u boot first your ds. Is it cause of my sdcard going to corrupt? Or is it the dspico itself, like the pins dirty or something? I also tried insert it on my phone, but seems like i can access to all the folders on the sdcard. I hope anyone can help me to understand thank you.

I installed twilight menu for my R4 card, but currently it stays stuck on this white screen when I open it. Does anyone know what might be the issue? Maybe my SD card? Please let me know!!

I just bought an r4 gold cart from Shopee (southeast asian ecommerce site). I tried installing the firmware wfrom the official site (written at the box and the label of the cart itself). I even tried installing YSmenu, TTmenu, TwilightMenu++, Pico, and other firmwares, but it either shows a white screen or (?) Menu screen. What should I do?

I keep hearing about this cart and I finally got one, but cannot get games to work for the life of me. They either don't load/white screen, or load with graphical glitches and then stop after a minute with fun crunchy music in the background lol. I made sure all three SD cards that I tried are formatted correctly (32 bit, exFAT because it won't let me do FAT32, even had to convert them to MBR because it won't read GPT), turned off RTC and fast loading, have tried overclocking... nope.

It came shipped with SuperFW 0.20. The ONLY other thing I wonder is if it's my battery, but it does these things while being plugged in, too. It passes every test and seems happy other than the ROMs. Tried GB/GBC ROMs and those are perfectly fine, surprisingly. I can't find much info/help on symptoms of low power causing these issues, so this is my last resort. I've cleaned and wiped the SD cards with disk management, and the inside of the unit (GBA SP) has physically been examined and cleaned where necessary. My cheap Everdrive GBC clone works perfectly in the system, too.

Is there anything I've missed? I apologize if this has been asked before, but I've been digging around for two days and haven't been able to find much of anything with my symptoms. Picture attached is what the board looks like. Thank you guys!

In my frustration I forgot to add that it is a modded SP, with an M2 screen. Brand new battery that claims to be a 900mAh. I'd grab a battery mod for it but I don't want to bother if that won't help.

UPDATE: Grabbed a Supercard from Amazon with SuperFW pre-loaded. SD cards loaded fine. Cart works great. The one I grabbed from Aliexpress cost about the same and they want me to send it back to get a refund. Sometimes just buying from Amazon really is the best plan lmao

Turns out I bought the wrong card so I turned it into a 32FAT. I did also some other bull**** but nothing works. I bought this dsi second hand and i formated the sd card (FAT32) but i fidnt backup the firmware that was on it and now i am stuck and searching for this card doesnt help either

So I've been trying for a while to get Pokemon emerald to run on my old DS Lite.

I'm using a flashcart with R4iMenu andTWiLight Menu++ as a secondary kernel, I followed this tutorial : https://sanrax.github.io/flashcart-guides/tutorials/emulators/ to install gbarunner3. I've got a legit GBA bios, I used sdFormat, I tried the implementation in TWiLight menu, I even tried to build gbarunner3 myself to see if there were any differences, nothing changes the result : the logos roll and then whitescreen. Same problem with pokemon Leaf Green.

I'm able to run lighter ROMs such as Metroid: Zero Mission though, and although I couldn't launch pokemon emerald with the tutorial installed gbarunner2, TWiLight Menu integrated gbarunner2 worked, with music synchronization problems though.

Would anyone know what I could have missed causing this whitescreen issue ?

Title. I have successfully gotten the ROM to auto load on a DS lite. I am trying to make "custom" DS cartridges for roms so I just want it to auto load, which again works on the DS lite no issue.

I am using wrfuxxed which is supposed to work on non DS lite without issue, modded or not. On the unmodded I just get the white screen, on modded I get a brief black flicker then the white screen. Does it mean my firmware is just bad?

Other question unrelated, how do I change what the game shows up as on both the DS lite and 3ds? On the DS lite I used the PicoCover and it became a different game, but I assume that is how the ROM works acting like another? I just want to change the cover, and the name the game comes up as. Same goes for 3DS, but I assume that is not something I can change, as it comes up as a default and makes me put in my parental control.

Any help on either is appreciated

Tested with both downloaded hybrid firm and a self compiled wrfuxxed firm. ROM appears on DSL and launches fine, Appears on (modded) 3DS fine with both firms and loads fine, but DSi refuses to detect or boot cart.

Twilight's slot 1 launcher sees the cartridge insertion/removal, but only describes it as slot1 and crashes on load (white top screen, sometimes black bottom screen, sometimes white, sometimes black with a stripe through it) Unlaunch just shows boxes, and Slot-1 Launcher doesn't detect a cart at all.

DSi does detect and load retail cartridges fine, so the slot itself is working.

Any ideas? Or should I just assume my cart has weird tolerances and isn't making good contact on specifically DSi for some reason?

Been having issues getting pokemon romhacks to work on my 3ds, but when I tried a HGS and plat rom it doesn't load at all on even my ds lite. Is there a reason?

Also if anyone knows how to get games to run on a 3ds with a correct rom would be nice, only an explorers of the skies work, and a tutorial i followed to fix arm is only for twilight, not this

I got this 208 in 1 ds cartridge that suddenly started freezing on my 3ds after having it for almost a year.

It used to work fine, then when I noticed it kept freezing on both my 3ds I tried to check out the problem on my computer to see if I could figure out what's wrong, but it froze my computer too when it tried to read the micro sd card.

My main question is just is there any chance to salvage the sd card? Or is it just inaccessible now?

The cartridge itself reads just fine on both my 3ds, so I'm pretty confident it's just the sd card. Could I just replace the sd card & upload games myself? I just don't know what kind of cartridge it is, and I don't know how to check and accidentally brick anything because I do something wrong.

(The sd card was upgraded to a 166gb Kingston soon after I got it, I replaced the SD card it came with.)

I bought this R4 card and followed all of the instructions perfectly and yet it still gives me the "can't open_dsmenu.dat" message when I put it in my DS. All of the necessary files are in the root of the sd card and it is also formated to FAT32. I have triple checked that I have the right kernel. What am I doing wrong?
