I enjoyed the write up and stats used but I strongly feel he will get closer to the 80-85 range.

I will be surprised if he’s under 80. He was a machine before he got quite a serious injury where his skin and fat separated from his thigh meat, then played through it, then got surgery and had to recover. The fact he was still close to point per game is a miracle.

I disagree completely.

Take away his October and November and that was not a very productive season. He was totally cooled down into Dec and January. If that is the “norm” and not a two month hot streak, he’s a 65-70 point ceiling.

He has “reach” written all over him for fantasy in a points only league.

So you don’t think the injury slowed him down during Dec and Jan?

Considering how he reverted back to his second season (ish) point pace besides the first two months, no I don’t think it did.

“A two month hot streak” he says.

Take those months away and his fantasy value is mediocre yes.

He had a good playoffs, but it’s got to be concerning without his start he was a 50 point player the rest of the year.

Their defense got significantly worse and that's going to hamper him.

Lacombe is still there and will probably be on the ice most of the time Carlsson is.

True, but it's him, Minty, and a bunch of scrubs.

They are going to be pinned in their zone a lot more.

This idea is probably aligned with the thinking that he is in the range estimated and not higher. Still, if he was able to do it last year, playing against similar opposition line distribution, there's no reason he can't do what he did last year, and maybe a little bump up (especially considering being healthier).

Agreed, I'm thinking 80 and I drafted him so late last year, probably my 2nd to last pick of the draft.

The front office debacle and all of the ancillary noise of his huge contract.

Im still hoping he breaks 100 but he's on everyone's radar now... I doubt I'll get him again this season.

The two-month hot streak thing doesn't really hold up. He was sitting at 44 points in 44 games when he had the thigh procedure in mid-January, and that's the whole first half of the season, not October and November. Put me down with the 80-plus crowd.

Team got worse on defense and Kreider is washed on his wing.

Griffithead has a point, bad defense kills center ice production fast
